Martial God Asura

Chapter 6678: The Rescuer

The six neutral elders turned pale from fright.

Chu Feng’s Netherworld Embryo had replaced the Netherworld God as the ruler of this realm. He might have noticed them because of how tall his Netherworld Embryo was, but it could also be that he had truly grasped full control over this realm.

If it were the latter, they were doomed.

Many thoughts flashed across the minds of the neutral elders, but none of them dared respond right away to Chu Feng’s question. There was a long pause before Cang Li finally replied, “Yes, it’s us.”

They could have chosen not to acknowledge it and hide their identities, but their pride wouldn’t allow them to do so. They thought that this would spell their deaths.

To their surprise, Chu Feng’s icy demeanor faded, and he said, “I didn’t have a grudge with the Netherworld Sect. It was Baili Xukong who kept pushing me. I heard that the Netherworld Sect’s neutral elders are rational people; I didn’t expect you to side with Baili Xukong against me. Even so, I’ll spare your life this once on the account that I have a good impression of Elder Cang Li.

“I hope that you can think it through who your true enemy is—me, Chu Feng, or Jie Tianran. However, you should know that this will be the last time I’ll show mercy. I am not in the habit of sparing those who are after my life.”

With that, the surroundings began to warp.

The six neutral elders were transported back to their bodies.

The trial had ended. They had survived.

However, they looked toward Chu Feng with turbulent feelings. The energy from the Netherworld God Bestowment had begun to fade, but his group was already surrounded by Netherworld Sectmembers.

Baili Xukong stood just a short distance away from Chu Feng, ready to make a move as soon as the Netherworld God Bestowment dissipated.

Things were going according to plan. The six neutral elders should have been celebrating their victory. However, their minds were a mess.

Chu Feng’s earlier attitude had shaken them. He could have killed them, but he spared them. This left them feeling conscience-stricken, and they felt like they were the worst scumbags in the world.

“I don’t know what the rest of you think, but I won’t let Chu Feng die. If your opinions differ from mine, I ask you to bind me right now. Otherwise, I’ll stop Baili Xukong if he lays his hands on Chu Feng,” Cang Li informed the other five neutral elders via voice transmission.

“I agree! Chu Feng cannot die. At most, we’ll capture him alive. He could have dealt with us there and then, but he spared our lives. I cannot turn a blind eye to that,” Lie Shan declared.

“Capture Chu Feng alive!” a voice echoed across space.

It was Ting Yun. He had relayed an order to the entire Netherworld Sect.

“Capture Chu Feng alive?” Baili Xukong was flabbergasted by the abrupt command.

“Milord.”

Baili Xukong’s underlings turned to him. They only obeyed Baili Xukong’s orders.

“I don’t know what those old things are planning, but Chu Feng carries many invaluable treasures, be it his Ruler’s Bloodline or the legendary Genesis Bloodline. His Netherworld Embryo is extraordinary as well. It might just be of great use to us. It’ll be best if we can capture him alive. Otherwise, kill him on the spot,” Baili Xukong ordered.

What Baili Xukong didn’t know was that the six neutral elders had come to a consensus regarding their stance toward Chu Feng. They had concealed their figures and had begun heading toward Chu Feng.

They wouldn’t stop Baili Xukong from dealing with Chu Feng, but they wouldn’t allow him to kill Chu Feng. If anyone attempted to take Chu Feng’s life, they would intervene right away.

Little did the six neutral elders know that Chu Feng was merely putting on a strong front earlier.

Chu Feng had only noticed them in the sacred realm because his Netherworld Embryo had grown so large that it towered above the mountains, granting him unblocked vision. It was also a guess on his part that those children were the Netherworld Sect’s neutral elders.

Similarly, he didn’t spare the neutral elders out of the kindness of his heart. In truth, he didn’t have the strength to kill them.

When he heard Ting Yun’s shout to capture him alive, he quickly surveyed the reactions of the Netherworld Sectmembers, and he immediately knew that his earlier deception had worked out. That order must have come from the neutral elders.

Even if he failed to escape today, he would at least be spared.

That said, Chu Feng wasn’t about to go down without a fight. He secretly took out the Heaven Protection Shield Spirit given to him by the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief. He secretly channeled it, but the treasure continued to resist him.

Seeing that the Netherworld God Bestowment’s energy was about to fully dissipate, he slowly lost his confidence.

A sealing formation had hindered the teleportation formation they had constructed, so they had no way to escape the encirclement. It would be tough for Little Fishy and Fei to fend against the Netherworld Sect’s experts by themselves.

Just then, Chu Feng noticed a tenacious glint in Little Fishy’s eyes, and his heart clenched up. He hurriedly said, “Yu’er, the Netherworld Sectmembers will obey the order from their neutral elder. They won’t go as far as to take our lives. I still have the Heaven Protection Shield Spirit in hand. I’m still trying to activate it right now, but it might work at any moment. So, you don’t need to put your life on the line.”

He knew that Little Fishy had tricks up her sleeves, and the chances were that not even Baili Xukong could stop her once she ran amok. However, employing such means would potentially cost her life.

Boom!

Deafening explosions suddenly echoed from afar.

Chu Feng looked over and saw blood-red sword rays wreaking havoc in the surroundings. Countless Netherworld Sectmembers died in a matter of moments.

Unlike the Netherworld Sect’s Netherworld Embryo, the blood-red sword rays didn’t feel malevolent. If anything, it felt righteous and even beautiful.

“That is...”

Chu Feng was immediately reminded of the phenomenon a while back that shook the entire world of cultivation—a blood lotus that enveloped an entire starfield.

“It’s Zi Ling!” Eggy exclaimed.

The surroundings were shrouded in a blood-red aura, but Chu Feng could still clearly see her. She was a gorgeous beauty, but her face was frigid, and her eyes flared with murderous intent.

She was Zi Ling.
