Martial God Asura

Chapter 6607: Biased

The world trembled. Tremendous energy converged to form a humongous formation that sealed off their surroundings.

The Hidden Dragon Martial Sect’s sectmaster had channeled her token to construct a sealing formation that harnessed power comparable to a rank one Heavenly God.

But Wen Xue wasn’t flustered.

“Master, I have returned to visit you. It’s a coincidence that Yaoyao emerged from her closed-door training at the same time. I noticed her world spirit traits and thought that normal cultivation would hinder her progress. It is more beneficial for her to come with me. I can collect a huge amount of origin energies for her and unleash her true potential,” Wen Xue replied.

“Wen Xue, you still refuse to speak the truth. Do I have to force you to do so?” the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect’s sectmaster asked. She didn’t believe Wen Xue in the least.

Wen Xue kneeled on the floor, placed the Cosmos Sack on the ground, and bowed. “Master, I am unfilial, but no matter what, I still view you as my master. Wen Xue shall be my name from now on. I will not change my name.”

With that, she kowtowed as a show of deep respect.

Then, there was a loud explosion. The sealing formation shattered, and Wen Xue vanished into thin air, leaving behind only her Cosmos Sack.

“...”

The sectmaster raised her head and looked at the shattered formation with conflicted emotions. Only now did she realize that Wen Xue had reached Heavenly God. That explained her fearless attitude. The sealing formation couldn’t have trapped Wen Xue in.

Meanwhile, Wen Xue was surging through space when she noticed that she was swiftly decelerating. It came to a point where her body felt as heavy as lead, and she plummeted from the sky.

“Wen Xue, have you forgotten that I am in the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect as well?”

An old man with the face of a monstrous beast quietly appeared before Wen Xue. He had praying beads in his hand.

“Milord, I can never forget about your existence. I’d never have reached my current level of accomplishment if not for your nurturing.” Wen Xue sweated profusely at the sight of the monstrous old man.

Despite her current strength, she was still unable to peer into the bottom of the monstrous old man’s strength. She was certain that it was not just a gap in terms of ranks; this monstrous old man was most definitely at a different cultivation level.

“You remember Lord Long Xie and me, but you still dare to take Yaoyao away with you?”

“Milord, have you forgotten? I have tried to reach out to you, but you didn’t appear,” Wen Xue explained.

The monstrous old man frowned as such a thing did happen. “You wanted to meet us to talk about Yaoyao?”

“That’s right. I wanted to discuss the matters with milords because my master listens to you. I had no choice but to resort to this because you refused to meet me. I mean the words that I said to my master. I am really doing this with Yaoyao’s welfare in mind,” Wen Xue explained.

“Release Yaoyao first,” the monstrous old man said.

Wen Xue did as she was told. She formed a hand seal, and a treasure resembling a seashell appeared.

The seashell was transparent, and a girl was sleeping inside—Yaoyao.

Yaoyao had grown considerably compared to before. She looked to be around six years old, and her features had become more delicate. One could already tell that she was a beauty in the making.

Her true age was not even six yet. For some reason, she was growing beyond her age.

But that was not important, for Yaoyao was a special entity. She was an asura world spirit, though nothing about her suggested that. She could cultivate normally in this world just like any other cultivator.

“Is Yaoyao willing to leave with you?” the monstrous old man asked.

“I wouldn’t have to resort to this if she were willing,” Wen Xue replied with an awkward smile.

“You can take her away by force, but you can’t keep imprisoning her like that. Do you think this lass will listen to you?”

“I’ll slowly talk sense into her. Don’t worry, milord. I won’t use forceful methods on Yaoyao. I’ve watched her grow from a young age. I can’t bear to hurt her, either.”

The monstrous old man waved his praying beads, forcing the seashell open.

The sleeping Yaoyao floated out from the seashell. The monstrous old man gently tapped her forehead, and her eyes finally fluttered open.

Upon waking up, Yaoyao immediately ran up to the monstrous old man and hid behind him. She pointed to Wen Xue and exclaimed, “Grandpa Monster, Wen Xue bullied me!”

“Yaoyao, how did she bully you?” the monstrous old man asked.

“She said that she wants to take me to the Ninth Galaxy. I don’t want to go there! I wanted to find daddy, but she stuffed me in that seashell!” Yaoyao cried with puffed-up cheeks.

“Yaoyao, your daddy is in huge trouble right now. Do you want to help him?” the monstrous old man asked.

Yaoyao widened her eyes, and her pupils swam around in a fluster. “Grandpa Monster, what happened to my daddy? I want to help my daddy.”

“Your daddy can still handle things on this side, but he’ll need as much help as he can get when he steps into the Ninth Galaxy. With your current strength, you won’t be able to help your daddy whether you continue staying in the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect or look for him now. Instead, you can grow faster if you leave with Wen Xue. Only then will you be able to help your daddy in the future,” the monstrous old man said.

“See, Yaoyao. Even milord has said that. You can’t say that I’m lying to you anymore, right?” Wen Xue added.

“Then... when can I see daddy?” Yaoyao asked.

“I can’t give you a date, but you’ll eventually cross paths with him. Do you want your daddy to protect you then, or do you want to be the one to protect your daddy?” the monstrous old man asked.

“I want to protect daddy!” Yaoyao spoke firmly.

“Then you should go with Wen Xue. She’ll help you grow fast,” the monstrous old man said.

“All right.” Yaoyao nodded. She didn’t trust Wen Xue, but she trusted the monstrous old man.

Yaoyao was extremely favored by the powerful entities in the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect. She often even met Long Xie, let alone the others. Without a doubt, she was the most doted member here.

“Wen Xue, I’ll be entrusting Yaoyao to you, but I’m still worried about this. So, I’ll be binding the two of you with a formation.”

The monstrous old man pulled out a formation chain that emanated an ancient aura. He placed one end of the chain into Yaoyao’s body and the other end into Wen Xue’s body.

“Shit!” Wen Xue’s face distorted from extreme pain.

Yaoyao frowned at that sight, but her expression soon loosened up when she realized she was not in pain. She placed a hand on her hip and pointed a finger at Wen Xue, saying, “Stop acting, Wen Xue. It doesn’t hurt at all.”

Confused, Wen Xue looked at the monstrous old man.

“Milord, you’re biased! If there’s a way to alleviate the pain, why didn’t you use it on me as well? I’m also a member of the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect as well, just like Yaoyao,” Wen Xue cried in indignation.

“I’m not the one behind it; it’s the effect of this formation. This formation ties the two of you together, but your relationship is not equal,” the monstrous old man replied.

“What do you mean?” Wen Xue replied vigilantly.

“Your life will be bound to Yaoyao’s from now on. Your death will not affect Yaoyao in any way, but if Yaoyao dies, you’ll die along with her. Even if Yaoyao gets injured, you’ll suffer the same pain,” the monstrous old man said.

“What?” Wen Xue’s mouth opened wide. She felt indignant, shocked, uneasy, and fearful. “Milord, I was wrong. I’ll leave Yaoyao behind and leave by myself, all right?”

She anxiously waved her hand to sever the chain, but she was unable to touch it. To make things worse, the chain was turning invisible.

“There’s no way to undo the formation. Wen Xue, I’ll be entrusting Yaoyao to you. Bear this in mind—Yaoyao’s life is far more valuable than yours,” the monstrous old man said with a sly grin.

Wen Xue dropped to her bum and wailed pitifully. “This is too much! We’re both members of the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect, so why is there such a huge disparity in our treatment?”

But the monstrous old man was unfazed. He waved his hand and said, “You can go now.”

Both Wen Xue and Yaoyao were transported out of the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect.
