Chapter 6582: Jie Tianran’s Twisted Logic

“Jie Tianran, you... Our predecessors trusted you to lead the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion as the Mansion Master! How can you commit such a heinous act over an illogical prophecy? That’s millions of innocent households!” Jie Nianqing trembled as she spoke with a voice quivering with rage and incomprehension.

But Jie Tianran remained calm. “I am the Mansion Master. It goes without saying that I have the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s best interest at heart. Mortal kings wage war for their nations to prosper in the future; mortal soldiers are willing to lay down their lives for their nations’ future.

“Our people enjoy exalted stature because the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion is the strongest power in the world of cultivation. For the privileges they enjoy, isn’t it only right for them to make some sacrifices for the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion as well?

“Most people are too weak to contribute to the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s fighting prowess. If they live out their lifespan and achieve nothing in the process, they are nothing more than maggots leeching off us.

“You may think I’m cruel to sacrifice them to do the divination, but I gave meaning and value to their lives. They should feel honored that they are still able to contribute to the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion despite their weakness.”

Jie Nianqing questioned, “What right do you have to take their lives? Did you ask them?”

“I don’t have to ask them. They are obliged to obey me because I am the Mansion Master. I have the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s best interests at heart,” Jie Tianran replied.

“That’s ridiculous! You wouldn’t have to do that secretly if you thought you were right. Deep down, you knew how dirty your actions were. Someone born of flesh and blood should never be able to commit such an atrocity. Even beasts wouldn’t do that. You’re less than a beast,” Jie Nianqing spat.

“Those who seek to achieve great things can’t be bound by morality. Only then can they make the right decisions. No major power in the world has clean hands. Nianqing, you aren’t a child anymore. Surely you should understand this logic?” Jie Tianran asked.

“Jie Tianran, I must have been blind. You are a selfish man. You have never cared about me, our daughter, or the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. You only want to bring the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion to the top to fulfill your ego. It has always been all about yourself.” Jie Nianqing glared at Jie Tianran with cold eyes.

“Nianqing, we have been together for many years now. Is this how you view me? You may question my actions in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, but you can’t question my feelings for you. Do you still remember Jie Ning?”

Jie Nianqing was taken aback. She asked with narrowed pupils, “What are you trying to say?”

“Jie Ning’s talent and background were above yours. Our elders, including my master, hoped that I could marry Jie Ning instead of you. This is the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s tradition. Through the matrimony of the strong, we can bear outstanding offspring who will prop up the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion in the future. You should know that, too,” Jie Tianran said.

“I know. Someone as selfish as you would have never chosen me if Jie Ning hadn’t died a premature death,” Jie Nianqing scoffed.

“Do you know how Jie Ning died?”

“She died in a remnant while on a mission. Those accompanying her lost their lives as well.”

“I did it.”

“What?” Jie Nianqing was horrified.

“The only way I can wed you as my wife is when she’s gone. Otherwise, I can only take you as a concubine. You say that I don’t love you, but I have never taken in another woman despite being the lofty Mansion Master,” Jie Tianran said.

“Weren’t you in closed-door training?” Jie Nianqing questioned.

“I pretended to be. How else can I do it secretly?” Jie Tianran replied.

“You could have just voiced out that you didn’t like Jie Ning. You didn’t need to kill her. She would have become a Heavenly Dragon World Spiritist and contributed greatly to our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion had she still been around,” Jie Nianqing asked.

“You are truly naive. Things aren’t as simple as you think. We were all living under the elders’ protection then. We didn’t have the right to choose. This is the only way I can wed you as my wife.”

“You’re merely finding excuses for your actions. There are other solutions. You don’t always need to resort to such dirty methods.”

Jie Tianran suddenly laughed. “It’s fine. You can continue being the innocent woman you are. I’m here to protect you anyway.”

But Jie Nianqing only felt disgusted and enraged. She glared at Jie Tianran and roared, “Stop your hypocrisy, Jie Tianran! Ranqing isn’t around to refute your claims, and I’m sure you also feel justified about turning your back against Lord Jie Shanxian and Daoist Starseizer. But what about Tiannian?

“Tiannian is our daughter as well, but you took her bloodline, crippled her cultivation, and even tried to take her life, all because she helped Chu Feng. Are you still a human?”

Jie Tianran flicked his wrist and took out a sphere emanating Jie Tiannian’s aura. It was her bloodline. “Look. I may have taken her bloodline, but it’s all so that she can metamorphosize. I have already planned it out for her, but Chu Feng acted on his own accord to take her away.”

“Screw you! You even ordered Tian’er to kill Tiannian. Do you think I didn’t know that?” Jie Nianqing roared. She was so angry that her face turned pale.

“I was testing him. A true expert needs to be callous. If he truly made an attempt on Tiannian’s life, I’d have stopped him and told him that he mustn’t hurt his kin no matter how callous he is,” Jie Tianran replied.

“A load of bull! You have no credibility!” Jie Nianqing roared.

“Nianqing, you’ll know what kind of person I am in the future. You’re listing my crimes to find a reason to deal with me. You might not understand me, but I know you. Since you have already made up your mind, go ahead and do it.

“No matter what preparations you have made, there’s no way you are a match for me. If you give up right now, I’ll pretend that nothing has happened. But if you insist on making a move, you shouldn’t blame me for hurting you,” Jie Tianran said as his eyes reflected a vicious glint.
