Chapter 6555: A Feat Beyond the Netherworld Sect

Under Chu Feng’s formation, Feng Ling’s condition improved while Zhao Feng grew weaker.

Zhao Feng eventually breathed his last when his bloodline power was depleted. He stopped screaming at some point, but his lips continued quivering, and his eyes were rolled up. It didn’t look like he had died a peaceful death.

One could only imagine the sheer pain he felt even at his dying breath, but no one pitied him. Even the Netherworld Sectmembers thought that Zhao Feng deserved his plight.

Now that the deed was done, the Netherworld Sectmembers and the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s world spiritists was left wondering if Chu Feng would really let them off. They were also worried that others would learn that they had lent a helping hand to Chu Feng.

Just then, a voice transmission was relayed to all Netherworld Sectmembers.

“Don’t worry. We might have helped Chu Feng channel the formation to kill Zhao Feng, but it’s also a fact that Zhao Feng was the perpetrator behind this mess. He deserves to die.

“Besides, Chu Feng has also participated in the Netherworld Troop Formation. He probably doesn’t know how severe the backlash is. I don’t know how he morphed his Netherworld Embryo into such a powerful entity and gained control over the Netherworld Troop Formation, but the greater the power, the greater the backlash.

“Once the backlash settles in, Chu Feng won’t be able to escape.”

The one who spoke was the elder from the Netherworld Sect’s conservative faction.

They had done Chu Feng’s bidding because they feared death, but if Chu Feng were to be incapacitated by the backlash, they could compensate for their wrongdoing by capturing Chu Feng.

And it would be a huge merit.

Wu!

The blood-red aura covering the sky dissipated. The Netherworld Troops dissipated into blood-red auras and returned to the bodies of the Netherworld Sectmembers.

All Netherworld Sectmembers slumped to the ground as if they had lost all their energy. They became as feeble as a dying man, and their bodies grew visibly older.

This was the backlash of channeling the Netherworld Troop Formation. The Netherworld Sectmembers had known this would happen, which was why they hesitated to channel it in the first place.

“Chu Feng, how are you feeling?” Eggy asked worriedly after seeing the plights of the Netherworld Sectmembers.

“I’m... fine.”

Chu Feng’s Netherworld Embryo also returned to his body, but he didn’t feel any anomaly.

“That’s good.” Eggy was surprised, but she quickly shrugged it off. Chu Feng often accomplished feats that others couldn’t even imagine. She had long grown accustomed to it.

“H-how are you fine?” The Netherworld Sect’s elder stared at Chu Feng in disbelief.

The other Netherworld Sectmembers also looked at him in incredulity.. They had been waiting for Chu Feng to be incapacitated by the backlash so that they could capture him and make up for their error.

Yet, Chu Feng was perfectly unscathed! How could they make up for their wrongdoing then?

“Are you asking why I’m fine despite having channeled your formation?” Chu Feng asked.

“What else?” The elder was agitated despite being in a feeble state.

Chu Feng chuckled before replying, “While your formation isn’t easy to channel, it shouldn’t cause a backlash when properly done. You’re suffering a backlash because you lack recognition from your Netherworld Embryos. That limits the power you can borrow from them.

“You resorted to special means to forcefully siphon power away from your Netherworld Embryo to activate the Netherworld Troop Formation; the backlash is the cost your Netherworld Embryo imposed on you in exchange.

“As for the cost... I’m guessing it’s your lifespan, though I can’t tell for sure since my Netherworld Embryo doesn’t impose such a cost on me.”

The Netherworld Sectmembers were shocked beyond words.

Is that the case? Or is he spouting nonsense?

Regardless, it was a fact that Chu Feng was unaffected by the backlash.

In the formation realm, Jie Tianran, Cang Li, and the others saw that Chu Feng was unaffected by the backlash, and they heard his words as well. No one uttered a word, but the Netherworld Sectmembers frowned.

Chu Feng’s words had come as a blow to them.

Cang Li stared deeply at Chu Feng as he murmured, “Has Chu Feng seen through the crux of the Netherworld Troop Formation? He’s completely unaffected by the Netherworld Embryo. No one in our present Netherworld Sect is capable of that. We sought the sacred item to fully grasp the power of the Netherworld Embryo, a feat that was impossible otherwise. Yet, he achieved it? Haa...”

Cang Li heaved a sigh filled with complicated emotions.

That was the reason behind the Netherworld Sectmembers’ frowns.

An outsider had achieved what they, the Netherworld Sect, had been pursuing all this time.

...

In the Flowersea Ordinary Realm...

“Continue channeling the formation,” Chu Feng ordered the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists.

Zhao Feng was dead, and Feng Ling had been saved, but Chu Feng thought that they could do better than this.

The Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s world spiritists did as Chu Feng instructed.

The Netherworld Troop Formation had finally unraveled, but the Netherworld Sectmembers had also become incapacitated in the process. The Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s world spiritists weren’t confident of dealing with Chu Feng by themselves.

“How... could... this...”

The elder from the Netherworld Sect’s conservative faction glared at Chu Feng before collapsing to the ground. His eyes remained bulging, and his mouth was still open, but he had breathed his last.

And he wasn’t the first casualty.

Several Netherworld Sectmembers had already succumbed to the backlash and died, though all of them were on the older side.

“Oh? I’m surprised that so many failed to withstand the backlash. Let’s not waste precious resources, especially ones from Heavenly Gods.”

Chu Feng channeled a recovery formation for Feng Ling with his left hand while swiping away the possessions of the deceased Heavenly Gods with his right hand. The origin energies were transported into his World Spirit Space, while the treasures were stowed away in his Cosmos Sack.

“Chu Feng, are you going to break your promise?”

The Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists channeling the formation tensed up. The sight of Chu Feng harvesting the deceased cultivators’ possessions made them wonder if he would do the same to them as well.

“Don’t worry, I am a man of my word. I’ll spare your lives for today since you have helped me, but I should warn you that Jie Tianran has been looking at us through his observation formation. He would have seen you working for me. I wonder if he will be as magnanimous as I am and spare your lives,” Chu Feng said with a smirk.
