Chapter 6357: Song Yun’s Plan

Chu Feng narrowed his eyes. “You did that?”

“I did, but I had a reason for that. The life tablets of many Ye Immortal Clan’s elders suddenly shattered. We were investigating that matter when we stumbled upon your grandmother. She was already unconscious by then and was lying there. I recognized her as our grandmother, so I told the Ye Immortal Clan to bring her back.

“My goal was just to lure you out to help me. Besides, the Ye Immortal Clan believed our grandmother was the culprit behind their elders’ death, and the only way out was to reveal her relationship with you. They already knew you possessed the Genesis Bloodline, so they would have spared her until you arrived.

“The Ye Immortal Clan wanted to get to the bottom of their elders’ death, but our grandmother was unconscious. They tried ways to awaken her, but to no avail. They even wanted to torture her. I had to firmly state the pros and cons to deter them from doing so.

“Big brother Chu Feng, you can check our grandmother’s condition if you doubt my words. There should be no injuries on her,” Song Yun explained.

Chu Feng’s grandmother was indeed unharmed, and Song Yun’s explanation checked out.

So, Chu Feng didn’t pursue the matter and instead asked, “Do you know where the two characters on my grandmother’s forehead originate from?”

His priority was to help his grandmother regain consciousness.

“I don’t know. It had already been there by the time we got to her,” Song Yun replied.

Eggy’s voice echoed in Chu Feng’s ear, “Chu Feng, do you think your grandmother’s condition has something to do with the God Curse?”

“It’s possible,” Chu Feng replied. He turned to Song Yun and said, “You said you wanted to lure me out to help you. What do you need my help with?”

“It’s a long story. The current Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief, Ye Xiancheng, inherited the Ye Immortal Clan’s legacy, allowing him to reach rank nine True God level at a young age and wield fighting prowess surpassing his peers.

“However, there are downsides to that legacy. One, his base cultivation is his limit; he’s unable to raise his cultivation beyond that. Two, a problem has cropped up with his body, and his days could be numbered if not resolved.

“The Ye Immortal Clan has prepared a powerful recovery formation for him. It is built around a catalyst treasure, which will be depleted once the recovery formation is activated. This means that the formation can only be activated once.

“For that reason, the Ye Immortal Clan wants to ensure everything goes well, so they are preparing other treasures to further enhance the effects of the recovery formation. They won’t activate the recovery formation until everything is in place.

“The Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief wants to repay the favor he owes me for saving his life by using the recovery formation to treat my injuries, too, but I suspect he just wants to use me. He might have noticed the unique nature of my martial power and wants to use me as a treasure to enhance the recovery formation.

“However, I’m in a terrible condition too, and this recovery formation is an opportunity for me. So, I decided to play along and see how it goes. My plan is to defeat the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief after the recovery formation is activated and take control of it, but I am not confident of pulling it off. If big brother Chu Feng helps me, I’m sure everything will go well.

“Besides, our grandmother needs to be treated too, right? That recovery formation is extremely potent. You can bring our grandmother there and give it a try,” Song Yun said.

“How can I help you?” Chu Feng asked.

“Once the recovery formation is activated, the catalyst treasure will create a powerful barrier to isolate the formation. Only Ye Xiancheng and I will be inside the formation. I just have to bring you in and wait for the formation to be activated before dealing with him.

“The catalyst treasure is bound to Ye Xiancheng, so we’ll have to defeat and control him. I can deal with that. Big brother Chu Feng, what I need you to do is far more important. You need to slip into the auxiliary formation, channel it with this treasure, and stop Ye Xiancheng from using the recovery formation’s energy to suppress us.”

Song Yun took out an ordinary-looking token that appeared to be forged out of a black stone.

Chu Feng took the token and noticed it harnessed tremendous energy. This energy wasn’t from the present era but the Ancient Era.

“How can you be certain no one other than Ye Xiancheng will be inside the formation?” Chu Feng asked.

“I have inspected the catalyst treasure. Anyone in the formation will be either sacrificed or healed. The formation can be adjusted to focus the healing on an individual, but having an additional person inside the formation inevitably diminishes the healing effect.

“The Ye Immortal Clan has staked everything on Ye Xiancheng; they are determined to ensure that he makes a full recovery. They have probed me many times before, and I reckon they don’t see me as a threat to Ye Xiancheng,” Song Yun replied.

Eggy said to Chu Feng, “Let’s go, Chu Feng. It’ll be best if she’s speaking the truth. Otherwise, I’ll kill that wrench.”

Her confident voice suggested that she had the means to pull that off. She had also mentioned something similar when he went to the God Clan to rescue Little Fishy, but such powerful means were bound to take a toll on her. It might even put her in danger.

For that reason, Chu Feng wouldn’t let her make a move unless he was cornered.

But he quickly made up his mind after taking a glance at his grandmother.

“You said that you’re confident you can control the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief?” Chu Feng asked.

“I am. He’ll have no choice but to obey me once I force this pill down his throat,” Song Yun replied as she took out a pill.

Chu Feng took the pill to inspect it. It was a powerful gu pill from the Ancient Era. He stowed away the pill and said, “You handle the auxiliary formation. I’ll deal with the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief.”

Supposing Song Yun was telling the truth, the crux of this operation would be the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief. They had to control the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief before everything else could proceed. Thus, he decided to personally handle it to ensure the operation’s success.

He made this choice because he didn’t completely trust Song Yun.

Song Yun didn’t complain about Chu Feng stowing away her gu pill. Instead, she smiled radiantly and said, “All right, I’ll heed your words.”

She sounded so obedient that those who didn’t know better might think she was Chu Feng’s wife.
