Chapter 6355: Rank Five True God Level

“Chu Feng, let me out,” Eggy said.

She also realized something was amiss about the guest elder, or else the latter couldn’t have found Chu Feng so quickly. Whether she had planted a tracking item that Chu Feng failed to see through or that she possessed other means, it would be unwise to let down their guard against an enemy of this caliber.

“Don’t worry, I can handle it.”

Chu Feng looked at the guest elder, neither making a move nor opening his World Spirit Space.

Shoosh!

The guest elder suddenly exerted her oppressive might, causing her robe to flutter wildly. Her cultivation was at rank seven True God level!

That was nowhere near enough to make Chu Feng flinch. Without budging a step, he blocked the oppressive might with his spirit power with ease.

But then, he suddenly felt a chill on his back.

The guest elder had flitted behind him with daggers in both hands. Both daggers were God Armaments shrouded in dark red auras. She simultaneously attacked with both daggers with incredible speed, one aiming for his waist and the other aiming for his neck.

Chu Feng didn’t bother dodging. He manifested two formation swords in his hands and turned around to block the attack.

What happened next shocked him.

He successfully blocked the guest elder’s daggers, but both his formation swords shattered as a result of the clash. This showed just how strong the other party’s daggers were.

This prompted him to retreat.

But the guest elder wouldn’t give him a chance to get away. She gave chase and continued pressuring him with her daggers.

All of a sudden, Chu Feng stopped his retreat, manifested two formation swords in his hands, and launched a counterattack. Slashes rained down on the guest elder, leaving her no room to escape.

It looked as if the guest elder had fallen for Chu Feng’s trap.

But the next moment, Chu Feng’s sword silhouettes suddenly shattered like glass.

Chu Feng hurriedly retreated.

To his shock, the guest elder had crushed his attack with her oppressive might. Her cultivation had increased further to rank nine True God level. It would be impossible for him to deal with her with normal means.

But the guest elder didn’t continue her assault. She stowed away her daggers and said, “Big brother Chu Feng is as formidable as ever. I’d have been killed if not for my cultivation being slightly higher than yours.”

Chu Feng was bewildered, but he recognized the voice and asked probingly, “Song Yun?”

“That’s me.”

The guest elder took off her cloak, revealing a clean, radiant face. She was none other than Song Yun.

“How did you appear at the Ye Immortal Clan? And how did your cultivation grow by so much?” Chu Feng asked.

While Song Yun had to resort to special means to raise her cultivation to rank nine True God level, her base cultivation was still higher than his. Otherwise, there was no way she could have raised her cultivation so far.

Song Yun’s smile widened. She was just about to speak when she suddenly vomited. A huge amount of blood spurted each time she vomited. In a short moment, a huge puddle of blood had formed at her feet.

Her blood was black, and it bubbled like lava.

“You’re ill?” Chu Feng asked.

He could tell that Song Yun’s condition was not the result of an injury but an illness.

At the same time, Song Yun’s aura faded, revealing her base cultivation of rank five True God level.

Song Yun didn’t answer right away. She took a few steps back and sat down on the ground. She wiped off her blood, though her smile persisted as if nothing had happened. “I’m fine, big brother Chu Feng. It’s just that... I’m dying.”

Chu Feng asked, “What happened?”

“It’s a long story, but I’ll make it short. I obtained a fortuitous encounter in the Netherworld Sect, and my cultivation surged, but that drew the envy of the new faction. They schemed against me. They killed a huge number of prodigies from both the conservative and new factions and framed me for it. I couldn’t prove my innocence, so I had to escape.

“It was by chance that I rescued the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief and received an invitation to join the Ye Immortal Clan as their guest elder. This illness of mine was caused by the backlash of the fortuitous encounter I obtained from the Netherworld Sect,” Song Yun explained.

“Chu Feng, take that lass’ words with a pinch of salt,” Eggy reminded.

Song Yun continued, “Big brother Chu Feng, I grasped a special means in that fortuitous encounter. Do you still have your Netherworld Embryo? I can awaken your Netherworld Embryo’s potential. I dare not promise much, but it should at least raise your cultivation by a rank.”

“What do I have to do?” Chu Feng asked.

“All you have to do is let me fuse my energy into your Netherworld Embryo,” Song Yun replied.

“That’s all?” Chu Feng asked.

“Big brother Chu Feng, I hope you can trust me. My cultivation surpasses yours; I don’t have to beat around the bush to harm you. Besides, with your sharp control, I believe you can stop me if I try to cause any harm with my energy,” Song Yun said with a smile.

Chu Feng couldn’t tell what Song Yun was thinking, but he decided to give it a try.

“I trust you. Come.”

Chu Feng stepped forward.

Song Yun placed her palm on Chu Feng’s back and formed a hand seal.

Chu Feng felt a peculiar wave of energy entering his body. The energy quickly located his Netherworld Embryo and flowed into it. His Netherworld Embryo then unleashed a tremendous amount of power into his dantian.

He felt the impetus for a breakthrough.

Song Yun removed her hand and said, “The rest is up to you, big brother Chu Feng.”

She took out a black cloth with a wave of her sleeves and tossed it over Chu Feng and herself. The cloth expanded in mid-air, covering them entirely.

Their surroundings turned pitch black. The black cloth wasn’t just a simple cover; it seemed to transport them into a dark world.

Chu Feng could tell that the black cloth had the power to block phenomena. Song Yun must have known that the phenomenon arising from his breakthrough would catch the attention of the Ye Immortal Clan, which was why she used this treasure.

Chu Feng sat down and channeled his martial power. Nine-colored lightning soon appeared above him, but it was limited to the area covered by the black cloth. No one outside the black cloth could see the phenomenon.

The lightning descended. Chu Feng withstood the trial.

It was easier than before.

But the growth in Chu Feng’s cultivation didn’t stop there.

Soon, an even stronger nine-colored lightning manifested. It fell on Chu Feng too, and he, once again, withstood it.

After the phenomenon cleared, Song Yun removed the black cloth, and everything reverted to normal.

“Two consecutive breakthroughs. As expected of my big brother Chu Feng!” Song Yun looked at Chu Feng with a satisfied smile.

Chu Feng’s cultivation had consecutively risen two ranks to rank five True God level.
