Chapter 6352: The Ye Clan’s Decision

“Miss, how do you know that?”

The Ye Immortal Clan’s grand elders looked at the guest elder.

“I have some history with Chu Feng, so I have been keeping tabs on his affairs. His grandmother’s sect was destroyed by a clan many years back, but just recently, that clan was destroyed in the same way her sect was destroyed. That old woman is likely to be Chu Feng’s grandmother, and the chances are that she’s fairly powerful,” the guest elder replied.

“Do you know her cultivation level?” the male grand elder asked.

“I’m not sure, but you should tread carefully. If you trust me, I can put her under my control. I have a treasure that can bind a person,” the guest elder said as she took out a transparent item.

It fitted within her palm, and it resembled a tiny crystal coffin.

The two grand elders examined the item with skepticism. People of their stature were more inclined to trust their means.

But the Ye Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief replied, “It goes without saying that I trust you, guest elder. Use your means to bind her.”

The two grand elders were surprised.

The clan chief turned to them and said, “Father, mother, you think so too, right?”

The two grand elders swallowed the words sitting on the tip of their tongue and expressed that they trusted the guest elder too.

The guest elder formed a hand seal and tossed the item down.

The item enlarged during its fall, and it passed through the body of Chu Feng’s grandmother and trapped her within it. Then, the guest elder changed her hand seal, and the item contracted until it was the size of Chu Feng’s grandmother.

Then, the guest elder lifted Chu Feng’s grandmother out of the remnant.

“Are you able to wake her up?” the male grand elder asked.

“There’s no point waking her up. Rumor has it she’s insane,” the guest elder replied.

“Insane?” The clan chief and the two grand elders were taken aback.

“Yes, she’s insane.” The guest elder doubled down on her reply.

“She’s most likely responsible for the deaths of our elders. We’ll have to pin the blame on her if we can’t get to the bottom of the matter,” the male grand elder said.

“Pin it on her if you wish, but I don’t recommend awakening her. I should have been able to expand and contract my treasure at will, similar to a spatial realm, but I’m unable to contract it any further than this. She’s pushing back against my treasure. I suspect she’s stronger than I expected. It’s possible that even the two grand elders won’t be able to curb her if she goes on a rampage,” the guest elder said.

“Miss, are you saying that there are present-era cultivators who are above rank four Heavenly God level?” the female grand elder asked with a mocking smile.

“Grand elders, you can ascertain her cultivation if you have the means to. If you don’t fear her rampage, you can go ahead and awaken her as well. But allow me to take my leave first. I don’t want to get caught up in it,” the guest elder replied.

The two grand elders doubted the guest elder’s words and intended to make a move, but the clan chief quickly interjected, “Father, mother, I know how strong you are, but our Ye Immortal Clan has only just emerged from seclusion. The guest elder possesses a deeper understanding of the cultivation world than we do. We should tread carefully for now.

“Let’s bring her back to our warship first. We can use our ancestral formation to curb her if she turns out to be overwhelmingly powerful. Our warship is right outside anyway, so it won’t be too much trouble.”

“Xiancheng, do you believe that the present-era cultivators are stronger than your parents?” the female grand elder asked.

“I have confidence in your cultivation, but there’s no harm in taking caution,” the clan chief replied.

“Let’s go with Xiancheng’s suggestion,” the male grand elder replied.

They moved Chu Feng’s grandmother to the warship.

Following that, the two grand elders attempted to wake Chu Feng’s grandmother and assess her cultivation level, but to no avail. This surprised them. This forced them to concede that there was some credibility behind what the guest elder said.

But the female grand elder refused to give up and tried to attack Chu Feng’s grandmother.

The guest elder interjected, “Pardon my frankness, guest elder, but I doubt you can wake her with brute force when other means failed to work. You’ll only anger her instead.”

“So what if I anger her? If she dares retaliate, I’ll kill her with a single smack to avenge our elders,” the female grand elder scoffed.

“You can kill her if you wish to, but that will be a huge waste. You can put her to better use,” the guest elder replied.

“What are you thinking, guest elder?” the clan chief asked.

“Chu Feng possesses the Genesis Bloodline and the Ruler’s Bloodline. There’s a good chance he might have other valuable treasures too. He’s known to be a sentimental man who puts his life on the line for his friends. He will rush here and hand over what we demand if he learns his grandmother is in our hands. Just his Genesis Bloodline is already worth the effort. How many treasures in the world can compete with that?” the guest elder said.

“So, you want us to announce this to the world and wait for Chu Feng to come knocking?” the clan chief asked.

“If you don’t fear Chu Feng, that is,” the guest elder replied.

“Hah...” the clan chief sneered. “I have never feared anyone.”

Having made up their minds, they returned to their palace to rest with Chu Feng’s trapped grandmother. Meanwhile, the warship made its way back to the realm where Chu Feng was.

The clan chief continued playing chess with the guest elder, while the two grand elders cultivated by the side.

The female grand elder struggled to focus. She opened her eyes and eyed the guest elder. Then, she sent a voice transmission to her husband, “Old man, this doesn’t look good. Our Xiancheng is mesmerized by that vixen. We can’t let this continue.”

“Don’t worry, old woman. Xiancheng still needs to go through more storms to toughen up. I passed my clan chief position down to him to hasten his growth. She won’t be able to do much as long as we’re keeping an eye on her.

“Besides, you shouldn’t think the worst of her. What if she truly intends to support our Xiancheng? She might be from a dubious background, but she has her means. As long as she’s earnest about helping Xiancheng, there’s no reason we cannot keep her in our clan.

“You shouldn’t underestimate our Xiancheng either. There’s no hope for our other children. Xiancheng is the only one our Ye Immortal Clan can rely on,” the male grand elder replied.

“You’re right. Xiancheng is surprisingly meticulous despite his honest face. Old man, you stand guard here. I’ll go adjust the formation.” The female grand elder stood up and headed out.

“Adjust the formation?” The male grand elder was confused.

The female grand elder glanced at Chu Feng’s grandmother. “We can’t underestimate that ugly hag. None of our means worked on her. She must either be very powerful or possess formidable treasures. That lass is right. We can’t let down our guard. It’s one thing for a mishap to befall us, but Xiancheng hasn’t recovered from his injuries. We’re at a critical stage in his treatment. We have to make sure nothing goes wrong.”

“You’re right. Something is amiss about Chu Feng’s grandmother. Don’t hold back. Let’s reinforce our ancestral formation,” the male grand elder said.

“I know.” The female grand elder walked out.

...

Sometime later, Chu Feng finally located the Ye Immortal Clan’s Ninth Young Master.
