Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2465: Chapter 1828: Situation Reversal

That’s not true, Cilio would naturally not admit to what he hadn’t done, but faced with the accusations of numerous ”witnesses,” the situation he faced was quite unfavorable.

There was suspicion of resisting and not pleading guilty.

Moreover, in his outrage, Cilio couldn’t help but roar in court. He was already classified by the judge as disrupting the order with his courtroom rants. His subjective points took a nosedive, and if no evidence favorable to him appeared, his situation might really become desperate.

Brown furrowed his brow, clenched his fist, and placed it on his knee, muttering only two words.

”Impulsive!”

Wen Yan sat there seemingly nonchalant, as if he was only waiting for the final result. He showed no concern for the situation before the verdict was reached.

”When did Cilio start associating with these people, even leaving behind so much evidence, alas!”

Beside Brown, Tike appeared quite distressed, pounding his leg in regret, seeming to affirm the witnesses’ testimonies.

Brown glanced at him lightly without saying a word.

In reality, to organize so many high-level officials from the group’s African division to jointly accomplish one task, only three people in the entire African division were capable.

Brown, Cilio, and Tike.

Cilio was the accused, and Brown, being Cilio’s father, couldn’t possibly push his son towards jail.

The remaining Tike was very likely manipulating things behind the scenes.

Not to mention, he intentionally spoke like this at the moment.

However, even if he was suspected, there was no way to prove it now, and it wouldn’t help Cilio who was being interrogated.

Tike had actually noticed Brown’s glance at him with the corner of his eye, but he didn’t care at all.

What if the old guy was suspicious? If he had the ability to publicly find evidence to substantiate his suspicion, this is a courtroom, where evidence speaks.

Tike smirked inwardly.

A moment ago, the reason he spoke carelessly was to put Cilio at a disadvantage in front of Wen Yan.

Even though it may not have a significant effect, as long as it made Wen Yan’s already not-so-good impression of Cilio firmer, it was enough.

...

The people who testified for Fiewood were each led away after making their appearances.

Whether Cilio was involved in professional misconduct or had committed embezzlement had no relation to today’s trial.

The series of appearances from those individuals were merely corroborations.

The judge wanted to know whether there was any connection between Cilio and Fiewood, whether Fiewood’s blocking of Bai Xiaosheng had anything to do with Cilio.

This concerns whether Cilio’s actions were impulsive, constituting ”impulsive crime,” or whether it was a premeditated crime of intentional harm, which would require different sentences and punishments.

In the court, the next phase began.

Fiewood was brought up again for a confrontation with Cilio.

”Mr. Cilio mentioned to me long ago that Bai Xiaosheng would often target his father at the Zhenbei Group’s headquarters. Upon arrival here, Bai Xiaosheng immediately exercised his authority to make things difficult for their father-son duo. Mr. Cilio mentioned multiple times that he wanted to stage an attack to teach Bai Xiaosheng a lesson, or even resolve this trouble. He also instructed me to arrange for someone to use force and ’send’ Mr. Bai Xiaosheng home, as long as he doesn’t die. He said he would make an appearance at the scene as well, which would ironically help clear him from suspicion.” Fiewood actually said this publicly.

Instantly, it sparked a flurry of shocked discussions among the audience.

”You’re talking nonsense!” Cilio exploded in rage across from Fiewood, wishing he could leap over and slap the self-righteous person framing him.

This was a premeditated script, with a semblance of truth to it.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled calmly, watching Fiewood speaking with seriousness.

”Order in the court!” The judge banged the gavel heavily, frowned at Cilio, then raised his voice to Fiewood, ”Defendant, can you guarantee your words are accurate and are you willing to bear all responsibilities?”

”Yes.” Fiewood responded briskly.

The judge continued, ”Do you have evidence to prove that Mr. Cilio indeed instructed you in such a manner?”

”Do you have evidence!” Cilio echoed angrily.

”Mr. Cilio, please remain quiet. I’ve reminded you for the fifth time now. If you continue this way, I will take measures to evict you from this courtroom. All investigations and the trial will proceed in your absence!” The judge said sternly.

This was more than just a warning.

Cilio promptly closed his mouth, although his eyes continued to glare angrily at Fiewood.

Fiewood smirked inwardly, raised his voice, ”Honorable judge, when Mr. Cilio and I communicated, we didn’t use our personal phones because that would make it easy to trace each other. Therefore, we used the phones of subordinates to communicate.”

This explanation sounded quite convincing.

Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

It seemed that within such a short period, someone had prepared thoroughly.

No, it might not have been last-minute preparation. There could have been plans long in place, or some things coincidentally came together and were being used now.

Wen Yan watched with interest, while Brown remained expressionless.

”I wonder if there will be evidence, if it will make Cilio’s situation even worse.” Tike murmured.

This was possibly aimed at Wen Yan, or intended to provoke Brown.

However, neither of the two showed any reaction.

”Do you have evidence, Mr. Fiewood?” The judge indeed asked.

Cilio glared angrily at Fiewood across the way, his expression was clear—

Even if they used subordinates’ phones to communicate, there should be records, prove it if you can!

”Naturally, there is!” Fiewood loudly declared.
