Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 502: Chapter 502: Astonishing Initiative_1

”Is this Bai Xiaosheng? So young indeed!”

”I’ve heard the name before seeing the man! Truly a young talent!”

”Who knew we had such an exceptional figure in Zhongjing!”

”Wang, isn’t your daughter about his age? If this one became your son-in-law, heh heh...”

”You shouldn’t speak carelessly... But if it were true, I’d wake up smiling from my sleep...”

A cluster of eyes gathered, and a multitude of hushed discussions arose.

Upon hearing that someone wanted to matchmake him, Bai Xiaosheng also felt quite helpless...

Being too famous naturally brought about many topics of discussion...

Mayor Ji Mingyang sneakily shot him a glance, his eyes filled with teasing intent.

Bai Xiaosheng could only pretend he hadn’t noticed.

At the rectangular conference table, Mayor Ji Mingyang took the seat of honor, with Bai Xiaosheng and Zhang Meng seated to his left and right. Each side was occupied by fifteen attendees, creating a very symmetrical arrangement.

”Quiet, everyone, the mayor is going to speak,” said Zhang Meng, seeing the conversation below veer off topic. She quickly spoke up to rein them in.

The thirty magnates then settled down.

”You’re all quite lively, fitting for leaders in the media industry,” Mayor Ji Mingyang said with a smile.

Everyone smiled.

”Today I’ve brought everyone together because there’s something I want to discuss with you. As you may have heard, the city government has been busy with meetings for the last three days. The day before was for companies, yesterday for institutions, and today for media!” Mayor Ji Mingyang said solemnly, sweeping his gaze over everyone, ”I guess you have sensed something unusual. That’s right, big moves are coming to Zhongjing!”

Mayor Ji Mingyang was indeed straightforward, getting right to the point.

Bai Xiaosheng looked around at everyone present.

Their eyes revealed shock.

Guessing was one thing, but having the mayor confirm it in person was another!

In front of nearly the entire Zhongjing media industry, such a declaration implied that this time, the impact would be significant!

”Those of you sitting here, I believe you are all aware of the city government’s planning blueprint. Zhongjing will become a central city focused on economic development in the future! It will be one of the two poles in Anjiang Province!” Mayor Ji Mingyang declared solemnly, ”Our city has achieved some success over the years, but I, as the mayor, feel a heavy burden on my shoulders if we are to become the economic center within ten years. If we keep to the old ways and old methods, we could perhaps achieve it, but it would take at least fifteen to twenty years, and that would require us to maintain our highest development speed! That’s too idealistic!”

The attendees nodded slightly in agreement.

”Therefore, after some research, we’ve decided to undertake a grand initiative!” Mayor Ji Mingyang said with a smile.

The word ”we” made the observant ones involuntarily glance at Bai Xiaosheng.

Those seated at the mayor’s side in the conference room, especially the youngest ever general manager of Zhongjing Media, were undoubtedly deeply involved in this so-called ”grand initiative.”

However, what exactly this grand initiative is, everyone was immensely curious.

”You are all well-informed, so you must know that Anjiang Province has been selecting the top ten landmark enterprises at the provincial level recently!” Mayor Ji Mingyang said.

It was no secret; the media had been following it closely, and the many promotional pieces and articles handled by these tycoons were countless.

”And this time, the city directly selected twelve high-quality enterprises from various industries to be Zhongjing’s benchmarks, to become the brand names of Zhongjing!” Mayor Ji Mingyang continued.

So the enterprises attending the first day’s meeting were the ones the mayor intended to support heavily!

The media magnates present couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

This was unexpected, and definitely big news!

Their eyes sparkled with excitement.

It seemed that the mayor wanted to use them to spread the word far and wide!

The thought of local enterprises receiving promotion and support from the city government level, possibly even benefiting from customized policy support like ”one enterprise, one policy,” sent the media tycoons’ hearts racing.

Most of them were in charge of enterprises themselves; to say they weren’t envious would be a lie!

Unfortunately, their company is engaged in real industry, the future pillar of Zhongjing’s economy, while ours is just media. Whether it’s profit or the driving force on Zhongjing’s economy, we have no comparison!

This is the difference!

Of course, Zhongjing Media is an exception.

”Yesterday, we held a meeting where we invited ten major institutions, including those dealing with data and those engaged in technological research and development. These institutions will provide strong support for those companies. At the same time—”

Mayor Ji Mingyang’s voice deepened, pausing momentarily, as his gaze swept over the audience.

The audience couldn’t help but focus their minds, watching the mayor.

The art of a leader’s speech, a single pause, is more effective than countless emphases!

Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. He began to pay close attention, trying to understand Mayor Ji Mingyang’s manner of speaking.

This is a learning opportunity money can’t buy!

A real example of a leader giving a speech, advanced case!

Bai Xiaosheng naturally did not want to waste this opportunity.

”Additionally, the services of these institutions extend to you as well!” Mayor Ji Mingyang said with a smile.

Us?

The media magnates were all surprised.

”Are you saying they will develop new technologies and new methods to promote the development of our media industry?” someone immediately asked.

The people here are tycoons; their minds work fast!

Bai Xiaosheng sighed inwardly.

”Exactly! Their research findings will be given special protection by our city, we will apply for national patents immediately. However, for you, these will be free!”

Mayor Ji Mingyang’s words brightened the eyes of everyone present.

Nowadays, domestic emphasis on the protection of intellectual property rights is increasing. For many things they want to use, they must pay for them.

This is a significant expense—and it’s getting higher!

”Not just that, the municipal government will specifically allocate funds to purchase databases and new technology rights both domestically and internationally, and provide them to you for free! Additionally, I will also give you specific policy support!”

With each sentence Mayor Ji Mingyang spoke, the eyes of those present shone brighter.

The municipal government is seriously planning to vigorously support their media industry!

”Mayor Ji, what do you need us to do?” someone couldn’t help asking.

This question made everyone hold their breath in anticipation.

Indeed, with the government investing funds and providing policy support, merely supporting the media industry seemed a bit too much.

”What do I want you to do?” Mayor Ji laughed.

”You are Zhongjing’s voice! I want you to promote our high-quality enterprises nationwide, I want you to become an offensive and defensive line of public opinion, cheering and advocating for Zhongjing’s development! I want you to establish a brand new media industry system that is unprecedented nationwide!”

Mayor Ji Mingyang said passionately, ”Your first clients are our twelve high-quality enterprises in Zhongjing, assisted by institutions and the government. Your strength lies in your voice!”

This is a government-led, industrial operation system for the media industry!

The media magnates present were immensely shaken!

A truly great initiative!

This regards high-quality enterprises as products, allowing the media front to promote them nationwide, increasing these enterprises’ fame and reputation, further boosting the profits of brand enterprises, and in turn, stimulating Zhongjing’s economic development. With tax revenues rising, municipal income grows, reinvesting in institutions and media, helping enterprises.

Industrialization, full-scale operation!

”Whose idea was this, it’s simply genius!” someone couldn’t help but exclaim.

Mayor Ji Mingyang glanced at Bai Xiaosheng and smiled.

In his gaze, there was full of approval.
