Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 492: Chapter 492: We Gave This Data to _1

Europe, the seaside city of Grange.

This city was filled with a sense of tranquility and peace everywhere.

Here, people revered a slow-paced lifestyle and refused toil.

However, there were some exceptions.

Emma Watson hurried along the streets, her eyes ringed with dark circles. These were not the product of smoky makeup, but the real consequence of staying up late.

Emma was a data analyst, and a top-tier one at that, having worked for the Ron Team at Kaisen Company.

Unfortunately, Kaisen Company had collapsed, and the core members of the Ron Team had gone to the distant East, but Emma couldn’t bear to leave Grange, so she stayed.

She still did the data analysis work she was good at and enjoyed. This job often required staying up late, but she didn’t find it painful. On the contrary, she felt that the night was the time for her to work her hardest and enjoy life to the fullest.

Emma continued to work for the Ron Team, now relocated to the East, and her old team paid her the highest salary in the industry.

The team members from there kept in touch with her often, and Emma learned that they were doing very well. There were high salaries, respect, gourmet food, and their new boss had given all authority to the team leader—Ron!

The old team had invited Emma to join them more than once.

Even Emma herself was somewhat tempted, but in the end, she still couldn’t bear to leave.

Now, she was facing problems on her end.

Due to various reasons such as economy, politics, and war, Grange saw a large influx of immigrants, leading to skyrocketing house prices and severe challenges to social welfare like healthcare and insurance, even causing the city’s finances to be stretched thin.

Under these circumstances, this month Grange’s city government drew inspiration from the East and adopted the ”Qualification Policy.”

Simply put, starting this month, to enjoy benefits like education and healthcare in the city, one had to provide employment proof from a local company and tax documentation.

If not, it would be problematic.

Of course, there were many exceptions to this policy: those who had lived locally for more than five years, those who had more than two family members living in Grange for over three years, or those who owned assets of over two hundred thousand British Pounds, could all be exempted.

Emma had none of these.

She lacked local employment proof, had only lived in Grange for three years, had no family there, and neither the value of her house nor the amount of her savings was sufficient.

According to the policy, not only would she be unable to enjoy many benefits, but she would also have to register with the management office every month, and this would continue indefinitely, becoming increasingly difficult.

Emma was full of anxiety.

She didn’t want to leave this place, she loved the sunrises here, loved the air here.

But if she continued like this, she would no longer be welcomed here.

”Maybe I should find a job, anything would do... but, by doing so, I’d have to say a complete goodbye to the team and could no longer do the work I enjoy!” Emma’s expression was bitter.

Now, she wasn’t the only one facing problems.

From Twitter, Emma learned that many of the team members who remained in Europe were encountering various issues.

In the past, the team was like a family, and when problems arose, everyone would help each other solve them.

Now that the team had gone to the East, although these people were still serving the team and receiving a substantial payment, the problems they faced had no one to help them solve, and they inevitably found themselves in a tight spot.

Not long ago, a team member had an issue with their house and got injured trying to fix it themselves. Hiring someone to fix it dragged on for a week without resolution. In the old days, a group of men would have settled it all in a weekend, laughing and drinking beer.

Moreover, those members who went to the East faced various problems in their families as well.

The team was gone, and suddenly it felt like there was no one left to help.

Emma sighed.

As she was feeling a bit sad, a Bentley stopped in front of her, and three men got out of the car.

The man in the lead was refined in appearance, followed by two burly bodyguards, one of whom was black.

The three men walked towards her, and Emma instantly became alert.

”Emma Watson?” the man in the lead asked.

”I am. Who are you?” Emma responded, on guard.

”Wow, ma’am, don’t be nervous, we’re not bad guys!” the man in the lead quickly said, noticing that Emma had slipped her hand into her bag, possibly gripping a can of pepper spray.

He then took several documents out of his bag and handed them to Emma, ”These are three certificates: one proving your employment with a local enterprise, one for your property assessment, and another for your local family relations. All three are completely legal and valid, and you can use any of them to apply for Grange’s honorary residence certificate! Enjoy all the benefits! You can keep the other two; there might be other policies from the city government at the end of the month that you’ll need them for.”

Emma looked astonished as the man handed her the documents.

”Oh, and here’s my business card.”

The man gave her a business card that read ”Jenny Law Firm”, ”If you have any legal issues, financial issues, even repair issues, you can call this number, twenty-four hours! I am Jack, at your service!”

Emma looked at him, dumbfounded.

”But... why...” Her brain was a little scrambled.

”Kelson Company has paid for fifty years of service fees,” said Jenny with a smile. ”All services are paid for, so feel free to give orders! This service is for all members of Ron Team in Europe and their families, and we hope you will pass on the word, and if possible, to the Ron Team far in the East. This is a small gesture from the Kelson Group, as well as an apology...”

With that, Jack made a gentlemanly bow and took his leave with his associates.

Emma stood there, speechless. ”Kelson...”

...

It was noon in Seattle, Ariel and Kevin were seated at the dining table, while the straight-backed butler read from a report, unhurriedly, to his two employers.

The Ron Team in six European cities had five members who stayed behind, and all of their family members received help at the same time.

Even issues like school bullying of their children were taken care of by a specialist.

They had hired the best law firm and secured services for fifty years!

All the investigations, all the help, were completed in one morning—that was efficiency.

The efficiency of the wealthy!

Ariel and Kevin were very pleased with the news and even opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

Zhongjing.

Bai Xiaosheng had just gotten up and was washing up, his phone buzzing non-stop, causing him to sprint out with his mouth full of foam to answer it.

Once connected, it was Ron’s voice on the other end.

”Damn Kelson, look at what good they’ve done!” Ron muttered, and though he was cursing, there was a strange tone in his voice, ”Fine, those bastards, they touched our people. We gave them the data, but not a penny less of the money!”

”Of course!”

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, his mouth full of foam.
