Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 2972: The Path Of Sealed Swords

The winds howled across the jagged cliffs of Mount Sky Sever, yet the ancient mountain stood unmoving—its cliffs sharp like broken blades, its very presence exuding a dignified stillness that silenced even the most restless thoughts.

This was not a mountain shaped by time or erosion.

This was a mountain cut—split by swordlight, carved by will, tempered by the legacy of countless blade-bearers who had left their marks upon the world.

Lin Mu stood at its foot, alone.

There were no cheering disciples.

No familiar allies.

No Meng Bai, no Daoist Chu.

Even his tamed beasts had been barred.

This journey... would be his alone.

Only the Grand Elder, High Elder Yan Dao, and two other high elders accompanied him. Their expressions were solemn, reverent even, as they stepped past layers of invisible formations that sealed this part of the mountain from all others.

They made their way through winding stone corridors—narrow tunnels and open halls where sword marks marred every surface. It was as though a storm of blades had passed through this place centuries ago, cutting their wills into the stone.

And yet the damage did not feel chaotic.

It felt deliberate.

Each gouge in the rock, each sliver missing from the ceiling, each diagonal scar—purposeful.

Lin Mu trailed his hand across one wall as they walked, brushing past a long, shallow groove. Even without releasing his immortal sense, he could feel the sword intent humming in the stone—ancient, tired, resolute.

Somewhere in these walls, he could feel the silent echoes of souls long gone.

Finally, they reached a vast chamber near the mountain’s heart.

There was no grand architecture here. No divine statues or sweeping murals.

Just a large, empty chamber of stone, wide enough to host a hundred men... and yet utterly silent.

The air was thick with sword intent. It pressed against the skin, the lungs, the very mind. Lin Mu felt as if he were being watched—not by eyes, but by the will of the swords that had once passed through here.

This place had been carved out by sword intent. There could be no other explanation. No hammer, no chisel, no man could have created a chamber this precise, this raw, this sacred.

And at the far end...

There it was.

A single small door.

It was humble—made of dark wood, aged by time, bearing no ornaments.

There were no arrays on its surface.

No protective formations.

No majestic glow.

Only a single carved motif of a plain sword—simple, unadorned—and upon its blade, the word ”Xian” was etched in smooth, flowing strokes.

Even that single character pulsed faintly with will.

It was quiet.

Yet every soul present felt it was a threshold one could only cross with unwavering heart.

The Grand Elder stepped forward, his robes whispering against the stone.

His voice, low but steady, carried a weight of truth.

”Lin Mu... beyond this door lies the Path of the Sealed Sword. We do not claim to understand it fully. No one does.”

”It has existed longer than the sect. Some say it was built by the first Ancestor. Others believe it was formed by the very heavens to test those who walk the sword path.”

He turned, eyes meeting Lin Mu’s calmly.

”What happens inside... no one will see. No one can follow. Not even I.”

”The path is alive, in its own way. It remembers. It challenges. It holds the remnants of those who walked it before you. Some passed. Some fell. Some... remain trapped.”

”You will face them. Their wills. Their truths. Their regrets. Their swords.”

Lin Mu said nothing for a moment.

His hand rested on the hilt of Afternoon Pine, but he did not draw it.

Then he gave a shallow bow.

”I am ready.”

The Grand Elder nodded solemnly.

”Then step forward when you are prepared. The path will open for you.”

”And may your will return sharper than ever.”free\ReadNovelFull.c o(m)

The high elders stepped back.

A stillness fell over the chamber, as though the mountain itself held its breath.

Lin Mu stood before the door. It looked so small now. So insignificant.

And yet it held the weight of tens of thousands swords behind it.

He reached out slowly—and the moment his fingers touched the wood, a soft thrumm echoed from deep within the mountain, like the unsheathing of a forgotten blade.

The sword motif glowed faintly.

And the door opened... silently.

Beyond it, there was nothing but darkness.

Not an absence of light, but something deeper—a realm beyond sense, beyond sight.

Lin Mu took a breath, then stepped through.

The door closed behind him without a sound.

The moment the humble wooden door closed behind Lin Mu, silence took hold of the chamber.

Not just the silence of sound, but a sacred, pressing stillness—as if the mountain itself was listening.

The Grand Elder stood quietly, his aged eyes fixed on the now-inert door. Around him, the three High Elders stood in similar silence, none daring to speak at first. Even their breaths seemed subdued, as if exhaling too loudly might disturb whatever ancient process had just begun.

It was High Elder Yan Dao who finally broke the hush.

”He went in without hesitation,” he said softly, his voice filled with equal parts awe and memory. ”Just like I did. Long ago. When I still believed I knew what the sword truly meant.”

The Grand Elder gave a faint nod, the edges of his beard swaying as if stirred by invisible wind.

”And did you?” he asked, his voice like a blade sliding from its sheath—gentle, but impossibly sharp.

Yan Dao chuckled. It was a tired sound.

”Not even close. The Path humbled me. Stripped me bare. Every technique I thought was profound was reduced to dust within. Every stroke I’d perfected was turned aside like a child’s toy. It was only after I failed... only then did I begin to understand.”

High Elder Jiao Lian, the eldest of the present high elders, stepped forward. Her gaze remained fixed on the walls of the chamber—specifically, on a particularly deep sword mark, cut diagonally across stone that looked harder than steel.
