Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 2955: A Month To The Tournament

Hearing the elder’s words, Lin Mu was surprised.

”Has anyone passed it?” Lin Mu asked.

The Grand Elder’s eye burned brighter. ”Few. And none in the past five centuries.”

Lin Mu’s gaze sharpened.

Another path forward.

Another blade to test himself against.

And he would walk it.

Still, it was not an easy one to walk from what he could tell as such he had to be careful, lest he lost his way on the path.

Lin Mu’s eyes narrowed slightly as the weight of the Grand Elder’s words sank in.

”No one has passed the Path of Sealed Swords... in five centuries?”

Elder Yan Dao gave a rueful nod. ”That’s right. Many have tried. Some gave up midway. Others were injured, and a few... never emerged.”

”Who was the last one to go through it and survive?” Lin Mu couldn’t help but ask.

”Haha who else do you think?” Elder Yan Dao chuckled.

”You?” Lin Mu raised his brows.

”Of course!” Elder Yan Dao said out loud. ”I overcame the trials and tribulations coming out of it a changed man! It was a glorious victory!”

”Enough of bragging, old man. I still have the recording of that day. Sure you were a changed man, but you looked anything but a glorious victory.” Elder Yi Feiyan threw cold water on the old man’s momentum.

”Tch~ Spoiling my chance to show my achievements to the younger generation.” Elder Yan Dao clicked his tongue.

Lin Mu almost wanted to chuckle, but held back. The two elders also regained their composure.

Elder Yi Feiyan’s expression remained calm, though his eyes gleamed with a hint of solemnity. ”We believe you have a chance, Lin Mu.”

Instead of being daunted, Lin Mu felt a surge of anticipation ripple through him. His blood stirred at the very idea.

”I look forward to attempting it,” he said honestly. ”Even if I fail, I’ll come out stronger.”

Yan Dao laughed. ”Good! You have the right attitude.”

Lin Mu inclined his head politely. ”When will the tournament be held?”

”The sect-wide tournament is scheduled for exactly one month from now,” Yi Feiyan answered. ”Preparations have already begun, and all eyes will be on the Sword Trials.”

Lin Mu nodded. ”That’s not far at all... I’ll be ready.”

One Month Later.

Time, as it often did for cultivators in deep focus, passed like flowing water.

For Lin Mu, the month was gone in the blink of an eye—but every hour had been used to its fullest.

He had immersed himself completely in the sword.

No cultivation techniques. No qi-based sword arts.No body refinement enhancements. No external aids.

Just the sword—pure and unsullied.

Every day, he trained alone atop a nearby cliff terrace that overlooked endless clouds, where the sword wind howled like ancient echoes of battle. Each stroke of his blade was precise, honed, and deliberate.

He faced stone statues, wind-swept leaves, and his own reflected forms—pushing his control to the finest thread.

When others might’ve been focused on expanding their dantians or refining meridians, Lin Mu did something different. He restrained his own power.

He sealed his cultivation base with spiritual restraints—reducing his qi flow to almost nothing.

He bound his strength through pure will, so his body cultivation wouldn’t interfere.

He chose to battle as if he were an ordinary man... but one whose mastery of the sword was anything but ordinary.

Yet, beneath all this outward focus, something deeper stirred.

Every time he entered a meditative trance, the Sword Dao called to him—its countless expressions flickering like stars across an endless night sky.

He saw rivers of fire shaped like blades.

He saw the void itself pierced by a single line.

He saw forests where leaves whispered sword songs.

He saw a mountain cleaved by silence.

And through it all, he felt a strange pressure building within him.

The Embryo.

It was forming. It wanted to form.

But Lin Mu held it back.

He could feel it... The Sword Dao traces pressing against the barrier of his Dantian, eager to crystallize into something permanent.

Yet he couldn’t allow that.

Not yet.

Most cultivators, if they were lucky enough to form a Dao Embryo, clung to whatever resonance first stirred in their hearts. Few had options. Fewer still had choices.

But Lin Mu?

He had too many.

His comprehension of the Sword Dao had grown so vast, so rich and layered, that multiple paths were ready to birth themselves at his will.

He could forge a Sword Dao Embryo of Stillness, or a Sword Dao Embryo of Stellar Lightning Blade, or even a Sword Dao Embryo of Silent Edge that erased all things.

Each path viable. Each path powerful.

But was it the right one?

He didn’t want to regret it. Not when this choice would define the very core of his future.

And so, he made a decision.

”I’ll wait,” he said to himself one night beneath the stars, seated at the peak’s edge with his sword across his lap. ”I’ll wait until I enter the Sacred Grounds... and only then will I decide.”

He believed it with all his heart.

The Sacred Grounds were more than just a mysterious, sealed realm within the sect—they were a repository of ancient will, memory, and echoes of past sword sages. It was said that the place itself could test a cultivator’s Sword Dao and Sword Intent, resonating with the path they were most suited for.

Lin Mu intended to walk that path with clear eyes and an unshaken spirit.

Only then would he let the Embryo form.

Only then would he forge his Sword Dao not with guesses... but with truth.

And so, the days passed.

Meng Bai continued studying formations with Daoist Chu, often helping Little Shrubby tend to the herb garden or join the twin snakes and Ashy in mischief (and then regretting it thoroughly).

The puppet hall remained untouched by Lin Mu since his last battle there. He no longer needed to fight puppets—his enemy now was hesitation.

He polished each slash, stripped each flourish, and bared his blade to its essence.

By the time the month ended, his sword was silent.

But when drawn... it would speak volumes.
