Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 1097: Chapter 184: Poppet and Master

The last time we met, Vid was still six years old.

Although he looked very cute, Braun was deeply aware of the dangers of Time Magic and had always been worried about it.

Despite later seeing Vid safe and sound as a judge through the Flow Mirror, it seemed like only meeting face-to-face could finally put his mind at ease.

Vid smiled and said, ”I’m glad to see you looking so energetic as well. I assume the actions on your end are going smoothly?”

”Yes,” Braun replied. ”Liayana Lightford has already been taken by Delaine. We should have about half an hour more. In half an hour, no matter how dull the Prometheus people might be, they should realize something’s wrong.”

”No problem, ten minutes is enough!”

Vito said this, gesturing ”OK” with his hand, immediately increasing the speed of his keyboard typing by two or three times.

In the room, all the poppets seemed to have been put on fast-forward, their rustling movements becoming more pronounced.

Braun didn’t participate in the search; he sat on the single sofa to Vid’s right, leaning forward slightly, and said:

”I didn’t expect to see you here, Master... I thought you’d stay in New York.”

The nation’s capital is the center of political power, and everyone is like they’re being exposed under the sun, with any anomaly immediately triggering alarms.

In contrast, New York City welcomes millions of tourists, immigrants, and merchants every year, filled with gray areas and organized chaos, providing perfect ”camouflage” for entering and exiting, disguise, and recruitment.

Therefore, whether it is the Magic Congress or the Scourers, or even the Prometheus, they all place the core of their organizations in New York, not Washington—New York is the center of the Magic World.

”Over there in New York, it’s like a clock that’s been wound up, running on a predetermined track.”

Vid said, ”Kingsley will soon return to the United Kingdom. The Magic Congress is busy with internal strife. After a period of high-pressure investigation, the Muggle Society will soon start their inefficient internal investigations and mutual deflections.”

”So now, we all need to wait.”

”Prometheus is waiting for this wind to become weary, for the strong light shining from the tower to dim, for the environment to return to the dark and dampness they favor.”

”And I am also waiting... waiting for those cowards to feel safe and finally emerge from their shells.”

He turned his face to Braun, his gray eyes appearing particularly deep under the cold indoor light.

”Timing is delicate. Before directly chopping off the head of ’Prometheus,’ we need to cleanly and smartly cut off its extended limbs, one by one.”

Braun nodded: ”Liayana Lightford is a very critical ’hand.’ She connects to Washington’s political lobbying network and EPA resources, and is likely to have the forefront experimental data, capital flows, and... the list and contacts of other ’limbs’ in the Prometheus plan.”

Vid’s fingertips tapped lightly on the sofa’s armrest.

”Decapitation requires timing, strength, and a sure kill. But cutting off limbs, weakening its mobility and perception, can start now, targeting these relatively peripheral but equally vital parts. Washington is a very important joint.”

Braun immediately followed Vid’s line of thought: ”When Prometheus believes that the Witch Pure Party, which has been opposing them, is being firmly attracted to Washington, clearing the Lightford line and rescuing those captured wizards...”

Vid said, ”Then their defenses around their New York headquarters will become slightly relaxed, and certain actions will become bolder. However, to cope with the inevitable threat from the Witch Pure Party, they’ll be more eager to acquire poppets to make up for the losses and accelerate their plan!”

”Panic leads to mistakes, the more urgent they are, the more flaws they reveal,” Braun continued. ”When they’re busy deploying their minions to protect the core, they will also allow us to see those forces hidden in the dark.”

”Exactly.”

Vid nodded approvingly and said, ”So now, it’s best not to interfere with New York. Let everything return to calm, and you all should not show yourselves.”

”I’ve only left surveillance eyes, and Vilan is staying in New York to monitor the situation, while everyone else has been relocated to Washington. Also, I think...”

Vid’s gaze turned to the ”legacy” that the poppets had found, saying, ”What we find here might be more interesting than we imagined.”

”By the way, Vine—”

Seeing the end of their conversation, Victor walked into the living room from the balcony and asked:

”Who is that guy who came up with you downstairs? The little ones said he has been sitting on the steps waiting for you... Is he your confidant in the Witch Pure Party?”

On the balcony, a few poppet birds chirped excitedly, as if in a hurry to report.

Of course, when they really need to report, they can actually speak, their chirping at this moment simply showcasing their presence.

”No, he isn’t.”

It seemed as if Braun just remembered and looked at the poppet birds with a smile before turning to Vid and saying:

”Serra Abigail came with me; the person downstairs is her.”

He briefly described the process of the two meeting and traveling together, without mentioning his purpose of inviting her, but almost all the poppets knew—

If Vid still harbored warmth for his former professor, Braun’s action of helping her would undoubtedly bring the Master satisfaction and relief;

And if Vid felt anger towards past deception and exploitation, then he also brought the opportunity for revenge.

But Vid neither commented on Braun’s actions nor inquired about details. Instead, he handed over the document he had just been browsing:

”Take a look at this; the contents are quite interesting.”

Braun blinked and then looked down at the document:

”Prometheus Project B5 - Consciousness Transfer Experiment: Initial Testing and Risk Assessment (Draft).”

”Consciousness Transfer Experiment?”

Braun swiftly glanced through it, a smile mixed with sarcasm and interest appearing at the corner of his mouth.

Before he could speak, Vito on the other side of the room suddenly lifted his head from the computer screen and interjected:

”If there’s a chance, I’d like to try their ’consciousness transfer.’ See if their so-called technology could possibly cover my consciousness.”

Vera, who was sealing a box of documents, stopped her movements upon hearing this, turned around, wiped her hands with her apron, and showed a disapproving expression:

”What nonsense are you saying? Isn’t that equivalent to ’suicide’? If you replace your ’thoughts,’ is it still you?”
