Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 1052: Chapter 139: Choices Amid the Rain Curtain

”Is it over?”

Victor dragged in Jonathan, who had also just finished the interrogation, and asked, ”What should we do with these two guys? If we use the Forgetfulness Spell, the master has to come over personally.”

”No need.”

Vilan’s hand slid down—

”Crack!”

With a sharp sound, Victoria’s head drooped softly.

Vilan looked at his companion and said with a smile, ”Richard and Victoria were killed by the crazed Jonathan, and their daughter Elana is the witness. As for Jonathan...”

Victor looked down at the man in his hands, lifted him up, and then threw him out.

With a dull thud, Victor looked at the man’s head precisely hitting the sharp edge of the steps and calmly said, ”He accidentally fell to his death while trying to escape.”

”Hahaha...” Vilan laughed out loud, ”This is what the master meant by ’when on the outside, a command does not necessarily have to be followed!’”

Victor nodded silently.

They understood very clearly that whether it was in front of the just and merciful Dumbledore or while dealing with Grindelwald, who secretly hoped Vid could break his moral constraints, ”Vid Gray” had to always maintain an image with principles and integrity.

Therefore...

”Don’t let those guys live to see the sun tomorrow, don’t give them a chance to turn the tables”—such orders would never come directly from Vid’s mouth.

But as poppets, almost like extensions of his body, they were very aware of what situations their master could not tolerate and what outcome he wanted to see.

The two took a quick tour around Richard Harrington’s secret underground chamber, stuffed everything inside into a suitcase with The Undetectable Extension Charm, cleaned up their own traces, tidied up their bodyguard uniforms, and walked out shoulder to shoulder.

”Did you send the list to the others?”

”Of course.”

”Some guys aren’t in New York, which makes it a bit tricky to handle.”

”Leave it to the Witch Pure Party; Braun’s been bored these days!”

”That’s good.”

”What do you think about developing some manpower ourselves? Every time something happens, we look for our own people to cooperate; the trust level is fine, but we always have to first think of a way to come up with suitable identities, which is a bit inconvenient.”

”Good idea, let’s discuss it together when we get back.”

...

Rainwater washed away the dirty streets with a gush, and the originally rancid smell in the air was replaced by a moist yet fresh vapor.

Antoine held his magic wand aloft in his hand, the wand tip emitting an invisible barrier that blocked the rain falling from the sky.

In front of him was an old factory in Brooklyn, with a ”Ferry Printing Factory” sign hanging on its iron gate, but the glass of the guard room had all been smashed.

Through the window, broken chairs could be seen lying on the ground, and the floor was littered with trash left behind by homeless people spending the night.

This place had long been abandoned, but tonight, it was unusually lively.

Antoine bypassed the factory gate and came to a disused drainage tunnel near the riverside, sealed by an iron fence. He had just arrived when he saw the tunnel had been opened, and Delaine stood at the entrance, his face dark.

”How did it go?” Antoine asked, while pushing the umbrella he held forward a little.

”Not much gain.”

Delaine walked out from inside, leisurely wiping his fingertips with a clean handkerchief, his voice carrying a chill:

”The moment we entered, the alarm went off inside. Those Scourers didn’t even think about resisting; all the key figures escaped.”

”That’s normal.” Antoine laughed cheerfully, ”When mice have stayed in their burrows too long, they can’t adapt to hunting under sunlight. But you were all blocking the gate, how did they get away?”

At this, Delaine’s expression grew even more unsightly.

”These guys dug at least seven or eight exits for their stronghold, who could block them? And I also didn’t expect that such an organization’s stronghold could be equipped with a Portkey!”

”So this wasn’t a small stronghold, and those inside weren’t ordinary guys.” Antoine’s gaze swept across the scene inside the tunnel and he sighed, ”What a pity! We let the big fish get away.”

Illuminated by Lumos Spell, making the tunnel as bright as daylight, the Witch Pure Party was quickly and efficiently cleaning up the corpses inside, while others were transporting out the items collected.

Antoine glanced at the miserably dead guys and curiously asked:

”Even cannon fodder has value for interrogation, why’d you kill them all? By the way, what about the guy who slandered Vid?”

”He’s dead.” Delaine raised his eyelids slightly and said with disgust, ”The Scourers put an Evil Curse on him, and the moment he tried to reveal any core secrets, the curse would immediately trigger!”

Just then, a member of the Witch Pure Party used Levioso Spell to send out a corpse; his face was covered in blood, looking as if suffocated by his own blood pouring out from within.

”Ha!” Antoine sneered, ”A group of lunatics shouting for the eradication of wizards, yet they use Dark Magic curses more skillfully than most wizards!”

The black-robed Witch Pure Party member tossed the corpse into the river. Before the dark water could completely swallow the body, he waved his wand, casting a spell on it.

In an instant, the river began churning violently, with fish swarming from all directions, forming a dense mass. They opened their greedy mouths, scrambling to devour the flesh.

In less than two minutes, the silhouette was seemingly erased by an invisible rubber, leaving only pale bones bobbing on the water surface, being dragged by a fierce pike to swim into the deep water.

The ordinary Witch Pure Party member bowed slightly to the two cadres, before proceeding to deal with the next corpse.

After being ”taught” by Grindelwald for so long, the quality of the Witch Pure Party had improved considerably; there were now fewer instances of casts hitting a fellow’s foot or failing to even execute a proper Iron Armor Spell.

Antoine gazed at the river’s surface, fractured with scales of light, and after a moment of silence, he murmured:

”I’m quite curious, those wizards who joined the Scourers, were they controlled or willingly selling their souls for money? Or perhaps...do they truly believe that after the Scourers succeed, they’ll leave them a place?”

Delaine replied, ”It’s nothing more than hatred driven by interests; that’s been the way throughout history.”

He took out a stack of documents with charred edges and said, ”They tried to burn these when they left, but unfortunately, they were a step too slow.”

Antoine took the documents, squinted and looked over them, his gaze scanning the names and company names that appeared above, and suddenly he let out a soft chuckle:

”You know, someone gave Vid a good suggestion. When dealing with those who can’t be eradicated by killing, perhaps the Muggle IRS would be more effective than our magic.”

”Vid...Gray...”

Delaine softly pronounced the name, looking up at the still tumultuous wind and rain in the sky, his voice was low:

”How did he do it? Even Mr. Grindelwald couldn’t precisely guide and manipulate weather on such a large scale...”

Antoine rubbed the magic wand in his hand and said, ”I heard, perhaps it’s a Muggle technique? I don’t know much about those things...”

After a pause, his tone was tinged with a complex sigh, ”Sometimes, I really understand those who question Vid’s achievements...at such a young age, he can already toy with the rules of both worlds within his grasp.”

”Thus, there’s another issue that sometimes worries me.”

Delaine’s expression became slightly serious, and he lowered his voice, almost whispering:

”Mr. Grindelwald sees him as the only choice to lead the Witch Pure Party into the new world, but...”

”When Vid Gray’s wings are fully grown, will he really still need the Witch Pure Party?”
