Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 1091: Chapter 178: Trust from the Enemy

Abigail moved with astonishing speed. As she turned, she rolled to dodge any possible attack, simultaneously her magic wand swiftly slipped into her palm, pointing at the unexpected visitor at the door, the tip of the wand glimmering with a dangerous light.

At the moment the spell was about to burst forth, she saw the man in the moonlight smilingly raise his hands.

His appearance, Abigail naturally would not misidentify.

The sharp hostility in Abigail’s eyes was instantly replaced by strong surprise.

”The Witch Pure Party... Braun? Why are you here?”

Abigail asked sternly, ready at any moment to unleash a deadly spell.

”It seems I just saved you, miss.” Braun said casually, ”Is this how you show gratitude?”

Abigail did not relax her vigilance, but the arm holding the magic wand dropped a few degrees.

She said coldly, ”I don’t need you, I can solve it myself. But your unnecessary rescue ruined my plan!”

Abigail was unwilling to fall into passivity because of an unnecessary ”saving grace” upon first meeting.

However, the heir of the evasive Witch Pure Party seemed to have a quite pleasant temperament, he tilted his head in thought and said:

”Alright... it does indeed seem so, I apologize.”

Abigail got up, kicked the corpse aside, and jumped off the driveway: ”You still haven’t answered my question... why are you here?”

After pausing, she asked hoarsely, ”The Witch Pure Party... has also intervened in this matter?”

Braun chuckled, ”[Also intervened]? That’s not right, we’ve been involved since two years ago.”

Abigail was taken aback: ”...two years ago?”

That timing... was roughly when Grindelwald broke out of Nimongard, and also when the Witch Pure Party started occasionally broadcasting live on Flow Mirror.

Even... according to Bloren’s speculation... when Vid Gray went missing.

Abigail’s thoughts flickered over her student, and then she thought of something—

”You mean... the contents of those Witch Pure Party broadcasts... those wizards rescued from various places? Could it be...”

Braun nodded and said, ”Yes, it’s Prometheus. The woman you’re going to meet, Liayana Wrightford, is one of them.”

Abigail was stunned.

It is precisely because every time the Witch Pure Party is active, they rescue wizards trapped in difficulties worldwide, even those imprisoned by Muggles for experiments, and wizard-qualified children, that many now consider them ”heroes” of the Magic World.

The ministries of magic across countries have also therefore acquiesced to the existence of the Witch Pure Party, not calling for their arrest and execution because of wars decades ago.

Of course, the official attitude of governments remains vague; they do not pursue the Witch Pure Party, yet they also do not recognize the legitimacy of the organization.

Abigail, because of the content of those videos, refrained from attacking Braun upon first sight.

But at this moment, the other person tells her that the wizards tortured in those videos are actually related to the person they are about to contact?

Logically, with their identity—Scourers, the avengers dedicated to exterminating wizards—they should be glad to see such troubles befall wizards.

Yet considering the children in the videos, possibly not even ten years old, and the depravity of those human experiments, Abigail only felt a wave of nausea.

Bloren... knowing full well what they are, still has been collaborating with them?

Braun continued, ”My target is Liayana Wrightford. This car belongs to her security team; I originally planned to use it to infiltrate, to find her hiding place.”

His gaze swept over the chaos outside the car, ”Didn’t expect to see you have become their ’cargo’.”

”A woman is about to face danger, I surely couldn’t stand by idly. Moreover...”

He thought of Vid’s attitude towards Abigail, smiled, and said:

”I’ve also heard of your reputation before—Serra Abigail, an outstanding warrior. I imagine you’d rather die in battle than be drugged and humiliated.”

Abigail’s expression slightly changed, her always tense body finally relaxed a bit, and the magic wand also drooped down.

”An outstanding warrior.”

Such an evaluation used to make her secretly pleased for a long time.

But now... Abigail only felt irony.

The enemy still considers her dignity, yet the companion she trusted without hesitation treats her as a gift sent away—even knowing she would suffer worse than death in the lab.

Abigail took a deep breath, suppressing the excruciating pain of betrayal and said:

”Indeed so, I’d rather die in battle... I’ll act with you, and pay a visit to that Miss Wrightford! What’s your next plan?”

”Naturally... continue with the previous action.”

Braun passed by Abigail, took the Communication Pea from the ear-side of a corpse, and stuffed it into his own ear.

At the same time, he smiled at Abigail and said:

”Muggles always like to abuse these weapons they don’t quite understand themselves. Communication Peas are indeed convenient, but they have the possibility of being tapped, not as secure as the Friendship Book.”

He said as he searched the corpse, pulling out various weapons, and also found a paper filled with strange symbols, holding it in hand, pondering.

Abigail watched his actions in silence, without speaking.

Yet a question emerged in her mind—the Communication Pea, isn’t it also Vid Gray’s creation?

Could it be that when he designed it, he couldn’t prevent magical eavesdropping methods either?

Furthermore, in all her time as a Scourer, Abigail had only heard about the secrecy of Communication Peas being inferior to the Friendship Book but hadn’t seen anyone manage eavesdropping on others’ communications.

How, then, does the Witch Pure Party eavesdrop?

She thought of Bloren’s various speculations—at the time of Vid’s disappearance, he was actually with the Witch Pure Party.

And three months ago, during the Magic School Tournament, when Vid Gray and Harry Potter encountered Voldemort, Braun suddenly appeared with the Witch Pure Party, and his attitude towards Vid Gray at that time...

Abigail’s thoughts raced, yet her face showed no sign of emotion.

She merely waved her magic wand, and fog densely sprayed from the tip.

White fog spread over the street, making the already dark street enveloped in mist, nothing visible.

Soon, several corpses were stuffed into the car’s trunk, the deflated tire was rapidly repaired by magic, the black van started again.

The ”driver” was Abigail, using Human Body Transfiguration Technique, making herself resemble the original driver about seventy to eighty percent.

Braun, wearing a bodyguard’s uniform, sat in the front passenger seat, guiding her as he looked at the map.

The vehicle smoothly drove away from the street that had just experienced a brief massacre, heading towards the outskirts of the city.
