Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 866: Chapter 237: I’m Also a Poppet

The boy looked up, his face filled with the childlike, rounded eyes wide open, gray pupils brimming with curiosity and confusion, like a bewildered little beast.

Braun closely gazed at his little master, his eyes made of inorganic materials reflecting the firelight, appearing surprisingly gentle.

”Hahaha...”

He suddenly laughed, his slender fingers intentionally fluttering in front of Vid, saying, ”It’s a secret, I can’t tell you~”

The final tone rose, like a child who loves pranks.

Vid: ”...!” This guy is so annoying!

Although he didn’t speak, his cheeks unconsciously puffed up, lips pressed into a stubborn line, glaring angrily at Braun.

Braun laughed again, his shoulders shaking, then reached out effortlessly to lift young Vid.

Vid instinctively struggled, his hand pressing against the man’s neck, suddenly trembled slightly.

This is...

He couldn’t feel a pulse beneath the soft skin, only some mechanical texture.

His actions froze, eyes reflecting Braun’s close-up face, and his very peculiar eyes.

They looked very similar to the eyes of the Mantis Poppet.

Although Vid at six had forgotten the alchemy knowledge he possessed, he didn’t know that each Alchemist has their unique style, but he keenly sensed the high similarity between the two.

Could it be... the meaning of the cloak’s so-called... ”one of us” is...

He stopped struggling, full of doubt looking toward Braun, still filled with disbelief.

Poppet...

To such an extent, can it be done?

So it’s not that the enemy identification system of the poppets was interfered with, right?

They all recognized you as their kind...

Braun perceived Little Vid’s shock, laughing harder for inexplicable reasons.

Always, others marveled, questioned, coveted poppets. Vid, as the creator, perhaps witnessed their birth from nothing, always feeling indifferent, focusing on what other aspects could be enhanced.

At this moment, he finally could feel his greatness as an observer.

Braun softly laughed, ruffling his fluffy short hair.

”That noseless guy bullied you, didn’t he?”

His voice carried a smile of indulgence.

”Watch carefully—”

Braun effortlessly held Vid to his chest, right hand clasping Vid’s little hand and his magic wand, pointing towards Voldemort and the Death Eaters over there.

”—I’ll avenge you!”

Gray-robed wizards at the door simultaneously raised their magic wands, amid the Death Eaters, someone let out a desperate moan.

A trace of panic flashed across Voldemort’s snake face, his nostrils twitched, green light flickered at the tip of his wand.

”You’ve made a fatal mistake, Braun.”

Voldemort’s voice was light as a snake slithered through dead leaves, magic wand directly pointing at the two overlapping figures.

”That child is a follower of Dumbledore, do you think he would submit to you? Impossible! I know people like them very well—foolish, stubborn, absurd, beyond reasoning!”

He spread his arms, the black robe opened like a bat.

”Witch Pure Party and Death Eaters, we are the natural allies. We pursue the glory of Pure-Blood, you desire the freedom of wizards, and Dumbledore is our mutual enemy! Think about it, if we join forces...”

While Voldemort spoke, Braun seemed moved, but actually slightly tilted his head, softly whispering in Vid’s ear.

”Ignis Divinum Furor.”

The ancient Latin fluttered past his ears like a feather, though Vid shouldn’t have learned this language yet, he somehow understood.

”What’s this?”

Vid looked at Braun questioningly.

”Use this spell,” Braun softly laughed, ”Believe in yourself, you can do it.”

Vid thought to himself: Really? But half an hour ago, I didn’t even know I was a wizard!

He thought to himself, feeling a bit strange.

Holding the magic wand, that familiar sensation was undeniably strong.

”After all—”

Braun lifted the height of the magic wand, the tip pointing towards the only standing Voldemort over there, a proud curve at his lips, softly saying, ”You’re the best at making miracles happen.”

Seeing this, Voldemort’s slender nostrils slightly flared, his face showed expressions of fury and apprehension.

”Very well!”

He gritted his teeth, saying, ”Seems you’ve chosen to oppose me... chosen to embrace death!”

”—Avada Kedavra!”

Without warning, he shouted aloud, green light bursting forth.

Simultaneously, Vid’s lips moved, clearly hearing Braun behind him synchronously shout:

”Ignis Divinum Furor! (Fury of the Flame God!)”

A surge of unprecedented heat exploded from the chest, magic power surged through the arm, flowed through the palm, rushed towards the fingertips, finally gushing out from the magic wand!

It was not a beam of spell light, but a torrent of pure flame!

Golden red, bright yellow, blue white...

The beam’s color constantly changed, temperature grew higher, wherever it passed, grass and trees withered, bricks shattered, even shadows seemed to have no place to hide!

The air distorted into bizarre ripples under high temperature, the Killing Curse’s green light hadn’t collided with the flame’s flow yet, it mysteriously deviated, ”Bang” destroying a nearby Wasp Puppet.

”It’s you!”

Voldemort’s snake face finally revealed undisguised fear, deep within his soul seemed to be scorched, torn with pain.

This light... this horrifying temperature destroying everything...

He hastily swung the magic wand, body continually retreating, conjuring layers of silver shields from the air before him.

”Boom!”

”Boom!”

”Boom!”

The hastily formed shields were soon swallowed by flames, Death Eaters kneeling on the ground finally could not endure, fled in panic in all directions, whether facing the dreaded Witch Pure Party or densely packed poppets didn’t matter!

”Boom—”

The flame flow annihilated Voldemort’s location, continued unobstructed forward, until forming a dilated, blazing stream of light in the night sky.

Inside and outside the Monastery, the scene was silent enough to hear a pin drop.

Death Eaters trembled, collapsed on the ground; amid the Witch Pure Party, some were trembling slightly with excitement.

”Is it over?” Vid asked quietly, ”Is Voldemort dead?”

Braun sighed slightly.

”Regrettably, no, he Apparated at the last moment.” He said, ”But this time, I think he’ll remember me firmly.”

”Will you be in danger?” Vid couldn’t help but worry.

Hearing this, Braun laughed again, using his chin to nudge the boy’s shoulder, his chest lightly vibrating.

”Dear master, I’m a poppet too!”

He laughed and said, ”I’m essentially no different from those sacrificed Wasps... do you understand?”
