Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 863: Chapter 234: Fierce Battle

Voldemort’s magic wand traced an arc in the air, its tip bursting forth dozens of sparks, which instantly transformed into giant serpents, hissing and lunging at the poppets.

”Burn them all!”

Voldemort’s hoarse shout echoed in the night sky.

The fire serpents seemed to teleport, directly wrapping around the foremost crabs and mantis, the high temperature melting the crabs’ hard shells, black molten iron dripping down the curved crab legs, causing a few crabs to lose their balance and topple helplessly.

The mantis automaton’s body was mostly made of flame-resistant materials, it charged forward through the flames, only to crash into an invisible barrier in the air!

It paused, broke through the obstruction, and suddenly swung its scythe at a Death Eater, the solid ground underfoot suddenly softening!

Swamp Curse!

The mantis’ six limbs sank instantly into the quagmire, the more it struggled, the faster it sank. As it tried desperately to escape, four or five spells simultaneously hit it.

Green carapace fragments flew everywhere, the mantis’ compound eyes flickered a few times before finally dimming.

The Death Eaters surrounded Voldemort, wildly waving their magic wands, casting evil curses in all directions, as they were adults, the power of their spells was far beyond that of students in the school.

”Stupefy!”

A cheetah that had just emerged suddenly lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

”Reducto!”

A crab’s half-body exploded into pieces, crashing to the ground.

”Confringo!”

The furious roar of a gorilla ceased, its body instantly engulfed in an explosion of fire.

Some poppets, manipulated by the Confundus Charm and Imperio, turned against their companions and even tried to attack Vid, but were all swept away by the enormous Jellyfish Poppet.

”That jellyfish!” A Death Eater shouted loudly, forgetting to disguise his voice: ”Control that jellyfish, and they’ll all collapse!”

Continuous Imperio spells shot towards the jellyfish’s massive body, but were blocked by a dense swarm of wasps.

They even abandoned their flying advantage, crowding together to completely cover the jellyfish, the swarm surging, like a cloak that fluttered with the wind.

The wasps controlled by Imperio were instantly torn apart by their kind, rendering them useless.

The Stunning Spell, Explosive Spell, and Flame Curse... When these other spells hit one or two wasps, they undoubtedly destroyed the tiny poppets completely, but overall, it was like plucking a hair from a giant, making barely any impact.

New wasps immediately replaced them, leaving no gap.

The repeatedly frustrated Death Eaters had to abandon their plan to control the jellyfish, and one of them shouted angrily: ”That kid is only in his teens, right? Where did he get the time to create so many poppets?”

”What do you think?” Another Death Eater—Noat said gloomily: ”Didn’t you see it at the competition? He can create a bunch of these with a wave of his hand, and just taking half an hour each day accumulates a considerable number.”

Before he finished speaking, he couldn’t help but glance at Voldemort—who was directing the fire serpents to melt even more poppets.

The Dark Lord valued Vid Gray and wanted him under his command precisely because he saw that the poppets he created could be directly converted into an army.

Little did they know that Vid Gray, living in the Peace School, did not naively treat poppets only as dolls or companions... His development of poppets had long surpassed most expectations.

Noat swung his magic wand to fend off a mantis that had rushed forward, secretly amazed by the seemingly endless number.

Even now, he could still see new poppets continually pouring out of cabinets.

A one-man army... Without anyone’s guidance, the fourteen-year-old Vid Gray had already achieved this.

It should have been expected—otherwise, at the competition, he wouldn’t have been able to use the limited materials in the forest to produce such powerful poppets in such a short time.

The Dark Lord might have seen this point, so he never used more terrifying spells to directly kill Vid Gray—even though his murderous intent had long swelled to the extreme.

Despite Vid Gray’s impressive current appearance, it was undoubtedly due to Harry Potter’s sacrificial influence.

As soon as this memory was erased, and with the Dark Lord’s personal tutelage, the grown Vid Gray would have only one stance!

As Noat thought about this, he felt secretly pleased for perhaps having guessed Voldemort’s intentions, and he turned to glance at a companion who had just been intent on killing Vid Gray, feeling a faint sense of superiority.

...Where is everyone?

The space beside him was empty, the companions who had been casting evil curses just moments ago had vanished!

”Avery?”

Noat couldn’t help but call out as his gaze swept around.

Just then, he suddenly felt a slight sting at the back of his neck, like being lightly pricked by a needle.

Instinctively, he reached out and felt something hard and cold with his fingertips, like a small stone embedded in his skin.

Noat tugged at it hard, the pain on his neck made him hiss, and upon taking a closer look, he found that what his fingers grasped was a tiny ant.

More precisely, an ant poppet.

His pupils suddenly trembled.

”What the—”

In that instant, something seemed to move up his sleeve and suddenly drop onto his wrist.

Noat’s eyes widened in horror—

Unbeknownst to him, countless ant poppets had already crawled onto him, and as he realized it, they seemed to have received some command, simultaneously embedding their stingers into his skin and injecting venom.

Piercing pain!

In an instant, the sharp pain shot through his spine like an electric current, the toxin rampaging through his body with his blood, every inch of bitten skin feeling as if it were burning.

Noat’s vision darkened, he wanted to scream, but only a hoarse gasp escaped his throat.

Afterward, the man fell heavily to his knees, his pupils dilating, the buzzing in his ears drowning out all sound.

Just before losing consciousness, he saw countless ants crawling all over him, covering him with a black ”cloak”; they even got under his body, slightly lifting him off the ground, and quickly moved him in the direction of the cathedral.

Now Noat knew how Avery disappeared.

The battlefield air was distorted by the dense spells, various lights interweaving into a deadly net, those majestic large poppets becoming Voldemort’s prime focus and the target of the concentrated fire of the Death Eaters.

Yet these ants, almost fused with the ground, played a huge and significant role

Following Avery and Noat, Crabbe’s massive body suddenly went rigid, then collapsed with a scream, stirring up a cloud of dust.

”Useless!”

Voldemort roared angrily, swinging his magic wand fiercely, a black firewall suddenly rising from the Death Eater’s ranks, circling in the blink of an eye, the ants that had rushed forward were instantly burned, and more poppets halted outside the firewall.

”Vid Gray!”

Voldemort’s magic wand pointed directly at the boy at the church door surrounded by the Jellyfish Poppet, hinting at a green light erupting from its tip.

He sported a terrifying expression, his voice deceptively gentle in everyone’s ears:

”The game is over, boy! Don’t think these little toys can withstand any attack. If you continue to resist, I’ll show you what true terror is...”

Before he finished speaking, the monastery’s heavy oak doors suddenly shattered, fragments scattering like cannonballs, and at the same time, a slender figure walked in amid the smoke, leisurely.

”Oh my, oh my...”

A voice full of mirth echoed in the courtyard, instantly grabbing everyone’s attention.

”How interesting... I’m quite eager to see what you mean by true terror...”

Moonlight filtered through the dust, illuminating the newcomer’s face—

Brown hair tied messily into a ponytail at the back, pale skin not sickly but rather like a marble sculpture infused with life.

He wore a slight smile on his face, his gaze dangerous and deadly.
