Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 428: Chapter 117: Hayley 2

He recalled once seeing a helicopter broken in two, maybe it’s right now...

”Boom!!!”

The helicopter in the sky exploded into a ball of flame, the fuselage split in two, whistling and spinning as it plummeted from high altitude.

Madam Pomfrey suddenly turned her head, gazing at the sky in astonishment.

Almost simultaneously, a loud ”bang” sounded beside them. Both of them quickly cast the Iron Armor Spell and the Impedimenta Curse, then saw that the sudden appearance was none other than Snape.

His body swayed a bit, unable to stand firm, and fell.

”Merlin bless, Severus, what happened to you?”

Madam Pomfrey quickly supported him and asked.

Professor Snape’s upper body was intact, but both calves were bloody, with flesh and bone exposed, and there were severe burns.

Madam Pomfrey immediately administered emergency treatment, several bottles of Magic Potion flew out of her medical box.

”I was just on that helicopter...” Snape said through gritted teeth.

Madam Pomfrey’s hand trembled, half the bottle of Magic Potion spilled onto Snape’s leg, causing him to shudder from the pain.

”Did you make that helicopter explode?” Madam Pomfrey asked in shock.

”No.” Snape said with difficulty, ”I originally intended to track those escaping guys, but when they were reporting, the person on the phone said ’goodbye,’ and the helicopter suddenly exploded...”

He paused, glanced at Vid, awkwardly complimenting, ”The cloak is quite good.”

If not for this cloak, Snape might also have been engulfed in the sudden explosion, with no chance to Apparate out.

Madam Pomfrey finally relaxed.

Then she poured the remaining half bottle of Magic Potion on Snape’s other leg, causing the Potions Professor’s cheeks to twitch in pain.

Afterwards, Madam Pomfrey gave him another bottle of potion for treating burns, the strange smell assaulting both nose and taste buds as soon as the stopper was pulled out.

Snape had to hold his nose and drink it down, while Vid watched from the side, suppressing laughter.

Snape himself was the biggest supplier of various potions to the school infirmary, and since the Maze game became popular, the number of students coming and going from the infirmary had multiplied.

So, Snape deliberately brewed potions that were already unpleasant to taste even more indescribable, causing students complaints, now the boomerang finally came back to him.

”Vid.” Madam Pomfrey handed him a bottle of potion and said, ”The girl downstairs needs a bit more work on her injuries. I was planning to check on it later, but now...”

”I understand.” Vid took the potion and said, ”I will handle it.”

The cuts on Snape’s legs made by sharp objects were already healing quickly, but the burns were obviously more troublesome.

Vid was about to leave when Snape called him back —

”Wait, take the cloak.”

The Metal Cloak rolled off Snape, gracefully landing next to Vid, twirling as if showing off.

The cloak was also marked with scorch marks and a significant amount of black ash, with bloodstains clinging to its edges.

Vid pointed his magic wand at it, and seeing it restored to cleanliness and order, he draped it over himself, mounted his broom, and flew back the way he came.

He heard his own voice.

Vid patiently waited outside the window for a moment, only climbing in through the window after ”he” left the room.

The two poppets guarding the pillow looked at him in surprise, then at the door, seemingly confused.

”Shh—”

Vid raised a finger, signaling them not to make a sound, and walked to the bed.

Earlier, he had poured a potion to promote wound healing, but it was modified based on Muggle constitution, considering the girl’s weak state, Vid also reduced the dosage.

So the healing process on Hayley wasn’t ideal, with blood still seeping slowly.

Vid sighed softly.

”The healing speed is too slow... There’s still such a big gap between me and Professor Snape in potion-making...”

Even with potions usable on Muggles, Snape could maintain the potion’s rapid healing properties without causing any harm.

The new potion was poured, and the wound indeed started healing at a visible speed.

Vid softly recited the Healing Spell, and his magic wand moved slowly above her body, speeding up the treatment.

When the last wound gradually disappeared, the girl’s skin restored its clean and complete appearance.

Vid waved his wand again, and the blanket automatically flew up, covering Hayley, while the operating room was also thoroughly cleaned, and the air with a metallic scent was whisked out by a tiny whirlwind through the window.

By now, the Obscurus had started to run rampant, making the entire building sway as if it might collapse at any moment.

Vid didn’t run out to recklessly confront the Obscurus with his not-so-advanced magic power, but instead stayed by the operating table, waiting for Hayley to wake up.

Could this girl calm the rampaging Mabel?

Actually, Vid didn’t know, and he believed Dumbledore might not hold out much hope either.

But since Mabel could persist in searching for Hayley in such a state, even with the girl possibly dead, refusing to easily give up, Vid thought their bond must be extraordinary.

However, even if the plan failed, it didn’t matter much.

At least they really did save a person.

Besides, the arrival of the school professors could also relieve some of Dumbledore’s pressure, which was better than the two of them fighting alone.

Suddenly, Vid felt a strange magic power, he rushed to the window and saw a weird distortion in the space on a distant street, like a whirlpool suddenly appeared in the air.

Right after, with a ”bang,” four or five wizards appeared on the street clutching a rusty iron bucket.

Just as they landed, they were stunned by the overwhelming black whirlwind. Once they reacted, the wizards scrambled to pull out their magic wands, and beams of light shot towards the Obscurus.

Then, more than a dozen wizards appeared one after another, some holding worn boots, some with wide-brimmed hats, others clutching cracked flowerpots, popping up from various places just like that.

The rolling black smoke swelled to fill the entire street at times, then shrank like a wild dog crawling into a hallway, appearing and disappearing suddenly, as fast as lightning, not engaging directly with the wizards but fleeing wildly.

In its flight, it continuously damaged the buildings on either side, while the soldiers or researchers lying on the ground were ruthlessly torn apart.

The street was torn asunder, the black fog blasted in bursts, but as long as its core wasn’t shattered, the Obscurus could continue its rampage, transforming into a ferocious beast, attacking everything Mabel resented.

Within the battling wizards, Vid even saw the Minister of Ministry of Magic, Fudge — originally thinking this person wouldn’t show up.

Not knowing whether Fudge foresaw the scene he would face upon arrival, Vid only saw him yelling at Dumbledore a few times, and then extracting his wand to join the fight.

Countless wizards endeavored to control the Obscurus, with the tips of their wands releasing slender, pale-blue beams, devouring the massive Obscurus, driving it from all directions to gradually gather it together.

Only by controlling the Obscurus and locating its core can this dangerous creature be eradicated.

The black mist intermittently transformed into beastly shapes, letting out painful roars, with black-red glows flowing through it, appearing both dangerous and malevolent, yet unable to break free.

Perhaps Hayley’s involvement wasn’t necessary, the wizards themselves might resolve the problem.

Yet Vid also knew, the reason Dumbledore hadn’t yet taken down the Obscurus, and agreed to let Vid reverse time to find someone to save Hayley to awaken Mabel’s humanity, was because he also sympathized with the tormented girl.

Suddenly, Vid heard a faint moan from the girl behind him.

He turned around to see Hayley on the operating table opening her bewildered eyes, blankly asked, ”Where is this? Who are you?”

”I am a friend of Rita Skeeter, came with Mabel to find you.” Vid gently asked, ”Are you okay?”

”...I’m okay.”

Hayley sat up, rubbing her eyes in confusion, looked around, and said blankly, ”I... I remember...”

Seeing the surgical instruments beside her, she shivered, displaying a look of fear.

But after touching her chest, Hayley relaxed.

”I seem to have had a nightmare.” The girl smiled awkwardly, glancing around up and down and even looking under the bed, then asked quietly, ”Where’s Mabel?”

”She—”

Vid was deliberating on how to tell her when suddenly hearing a series of gunshots vaguely coming through —

”Rat-a-tat-tat...”
