Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 389: Chapter 94: Family [Double-Length]

”Of course we had to come.”

The plump woman touched Carrel, saying with concern, ”We heard your task force had an incident, and we set out immediately from the United States, but couldn’t get any information about your whereabouts. I thought... I thought...”

She started crying.

The woman’s tears left Carrel helpless, and he frantically said, ”Don’t cry, Mom. Look, I’m perfectly fine...”

He looked to his father for help, but saw the tattooed man sitting nearby, seriously asking:

”What exactly happened then? Why were you exposed?”

Carrel asked puzzledly, ”Didn’t Glanwhite escape? He didn’t report?”

The tattooed man frowned, ”Answer my question, Carrel!”

His tone was icy, making Carrel somewhat uncomfortable.

The plump woman explained beside him, ”Glanwhite worried about leading the enemy to our base. He sent a message and then fled to Africa, and there’s been no news during this time.”

”...He was a bit overly cautious, Dumbledore had long returned to the school.” Carrel said speechlessly.

”Oh my, you encountered Dumbledore?”

The plump woman said in horror, ”How could this happen? The leader said Dumbledore might be the most powerful wizard now. Why did you provoke him right upon arrival?”

Thinking back to the scene at that time, Carrel also felt lingering fear. He swallowed before recalling what had happened—

”After arriving in the United Kingdom, Glanwhite said we should first investigate the reason for Werewolf Will’s disappearance. Last mission, they used Gold Powder yet still failed... failed strangely, and Glanwhite suspected someone betrayed us.”

”He said, we needed to know which forces were against us, whether the British Ministry of Magic was involved, and how much information the missing Will leaked before proceeding with our next move.”

”Will had a diary... After investigating, Nile found one person particularly suspicious—”

”Before Will disappeared, through a werewolf named Remus Lupin, he got a job with excellent pay and received a considerable amount of support from Lupin.”

”And Remus Lupin lived in Hogsmeade...”

”Dar was killed by an Acromantula’s venom, and Acromantulas originate from Southeast Asia. In the United Kingdom, there’s only one place where a large number of Acromantulas reside...”

Although speaking somewhat chaotically, the tattooed man understood Glanwhite’s thoughts back then, and he slowly said, ”The Forbidden Forest next to Hogwarts.”

”Yes.”

Carrel nodded, ”That’s what Glanwhite said.”

”He believed everything was connected to that Remus Lupin... As a dangerous werewolf, living so close to the school surely granted him the approval of the school’s upper echelons.”

”Krami suggested, if we could break the wizard’s trust in that werewolf, it would force him out of Hogwarts’ protection, thus making it easier to deal with him.”

”Moreover, the werewolves in the United Kingdom formed some kind of mutual aid association and signed the ’Werewolf Code of Conduct’ with the Ministry of Magic. Krami said, we needed to make these weak British wizards remember the dangers and brutality of werewolves, so we could help the werewolves awaken...”

Carrel’s lips twisted slightly. Even while recounting, he found this idea absurd.

They stirred up trouble in the relatively peaceful lives of werewolves, had wizards discriminate against and hunt them, then they would ’help’ werewolves ’awaken’?

—Do British werewolves truly need such ’help’?

Yet Carrel had no qualification to question. After Krami finished speaking, both Glanwhite and Nile deemed it a good idea.

After speaking, he deliberately observed his parents’ expressions, discovering they didn’t seem to find anything wrong with such a thought.

—Could it be that it was himself who found this approach absurd that was mistaken?

”Did you use Lycanthropy Hormone?” the tattooed man asked.

”Yes. Glanwhite applied for three doses when leaving, one of which was used on Remus Lupin. He became a werewolf on the street...” Carrel said.

”But...” the plump woman questioned with a furrowed brow, ”this matter doesn’t seem to have been reported?”

Carrel lowered his head, saying, ”Some capable folks are in Hogsmeade, and at that time, Lupin was accompanied by a Hogwarts professor... So the werewolf rampage didn’t cause any casualties.”

”Originally, Nile and Krami took photos and made recordings, but that night, Dumbledore suddenly found us...”

Carrel recalled when they were driving to a new Muggle Town, and the car suddenly stopped midway, with that terrifying wizard coldly standing on the road, seemingly having waited for a long time...

He couldn’t help but shiver, face pale, hands tightly clenched into fists, his eyes inadvertently revealing fear and tension.

Apart from the clueless Muggle driver, almost everyone in the car was frightened to death. They didn’t even consider resisting and furiously dashed out of the vehicle fleeing.

Glanwhite and Nile both knew Apparition, hence they smoothly escaped from that road at first—only Krami lost a finger—an incredibly fortunate incident.

But afterward, they learned it wasn’t fortune, but the beginning of a nightmare.

”We dared not rest, dared not sleep. As soon as we stopped for a few minutes, that person would appear...”

”So you brought him to the French base?” the tattooed man suddenly asked.

Carrel hesitated for a moment before defending, ”There, it’s all Muggles. Nile said, considering the ’Confidentiality Law,’ Dumbledore certainly would...”
