Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 352: Chapter 57: Vid’s Threat

”Talk, talk about what?”

Malfoy was somewhat afraid of Vid, and he stammered as he spoke.

Vid pointed to the bloodstain on his sleeve.

”This injury is just a normal classroom incident, which happens every day at Hogwarts. You wouldn’t use this as a chance to make a mess of everything, would you?”

If it were anyone else saying this to him, Malfoy would certainly describe his injury as severe as possible, but Vid knew what he had done to Crabbe before.

In that near-fatal injury, Malfoy himself wasn’t punished harshly, although he still has to go to detention every day...

Compared to that, the wound on his arm really is insignificant.

But Malfoy was unwilling to let it go like that, he pressed his lips together tightly, and his gray-blue eyes looked particularly gloomy.

”If I say no, are you going to spill the beans about that incident?” Malfoy asked in a low voice.

On the adjacent hospital bed, Harry glanced over curiously, but couldn’t quite hear what they were talking about.

Leian, who was further away, turned his head to look over.

”Of course not, Mr. Malfoy spent a lot of money on you after all.”

Vid smiled lightly and whispered, ”But I wouldn’t mind letting everyone know that the heir of the Malfoy Family is useless, isn’t good for anything besides calling his dad, and cries like a three-year-old girl over a little injury.”

”You—you dare!” Malfoy was livid.

”Why wouldn’t I? Am I not speaking the truth?”

Vid pressed Malfoy’s magic wand onto his blanket and continued, ”You can have your school governor father push, force the school to expel Hagrid; you can also have the Ministry of Magic execute that beast that injured people, it’s your privilege.”

”But I can also let the entire world know that Draco Malfoy is cowardly and timid, not at all a man... I could even let that label follow you all your life, do you want to give it a try?”

Malfoy was stunned, his lips unconsciously moved a few times, seemingly wanting to fight back, or get angry, but ultimately made no sound.

His face gradually turned pale.

”Don’t worry, I was just hypothetically saying that.”

Vid patted his shoulder and said, ”Actually, I wanted to tell you—if you are willing to forgive Hagrid, maybe he could take you to see the Fire Dragon? Perhaps even touch it.”

”You remember the Fire Dragon, right? The one that was kept for a while at the school Quidditch Pitch. It’s still in the Forbidden Forest, and Hagrid often visits it.”

”Oh, if you don’t want to go, that’s okay too. I just thought since your name is ’Dragon,’ you might have an interest in the Fire Dragon... Actually, Hagrid has a good relationship with the centaurs and unicorns in the Forbidden Forest too.”

”As the professor of Care of Magical Creatures, Hagrid is actually quite competent. So when he accidentally makes mistakes, we should give him a second chance, right?”

Malfoy stayed silent, his hand placed on the blanket trembled slightly, yet he said nothing.

Vid didn’t push him for an immediate answer; he turned to check on Harry’s injuries.

”Actually, I don’t feel pain after applying the potion.” Harry said with a bitter face: ”I just feel terrible in the stomach, like I’m going to vomit.”

”Please don’t.” Vid warned: ”If you throw up, you might have to drink it all over again according to Madam Pomfrey.”

”No way?”

Harry was startled, his face turned pale, as he spoke and tried to soothe his chest, hoping to calm the potion stuck in his esophagus.

”Where’s Hermione and the others?” Vid asked.

”Right before class time, Madam Pomfrey shooed everyone away.” Harry explained.

Just then, the door to the hospital room was pushed open again, and a red-haired head peeked in.

Ginny Weasley shyly glanced at Harry, then lowered her eyes to the floor and said, ”Professor Hagrid! Professor McGonagall wants you in the Headmaster’s Office!”

”Wha—what? Me? Right now?”

Hagrid was chatting happily with the kids, planning how to conduct future classes, and when he heard this, he returned to reality and said nervously.

”Yes.”

Ginny Weasley responded quickly and stole a glance at Harry again, seemingly wanting to ask something, but not daring to speak.

Hagrid got up, his head almost touching the ceiling.

”If I get expelled—” he looked at the kids around him, saying sadly: ”I will definitely tell the new professor your suggestions.”

Michael and the others didn’t know how to comfort him.

As Hagrid prepared to leave, Draco Malfoy suddenly said, ”Wait!”

Everyone looked at him, he paused before seemingly making a decision, and said, ”I’ll go with you.”

Ginny frowned and said, ”Professor McGonagall only asked for Professor Hagrid.”

”She must be addressing the issue of our injuries, I’m involved, of course I have the right to go!”

Malfoy raised his head, proudly looking at her, and said.

Then he turned back, glancing fiercely at Vid.

”I’ll go too!”

Harry frowned and was about to get up from his hospital bed.

”You can’t!” Madam Pomfrey suddenly entered, almost as if she had been waiting to prevent a surprise, quickly pressing Harry back down: ”Your wounds haven’t healed, don’t run around.”

”But I want to tell the truth to Dumbledore! If I don’t go, Hagrid might get expelled!” Harry shouted.

”No, no... Your health is more important...” Hagrid said emotionally: ”I... I as a professor should indeed bear responsibility...”

”But—”

”Not a chance! Dumbledore knows everything already!” Madam Pomfrey said irritably: ”Whatever you have to say, wait until you’re recovered. Now, don’t think of sneaking away under my watch!”

Harry struggled, but Madam Pomfrey wouldn’t accommodate.

Malfoy sneered, used a Reparo on his school cloak, put on his boots, and got out of bed.

As he walked to Hagrid, he glanced at this professor who seemed like a wild man, undisguised disdain on his face.

But he said, ”I heard you still have that Fire Dragon?”

Hagrid was stunned for a moment: ”You mean Nobeta? She’s a great girl, really, I’ve never seen such a lovely child... If her mom’s not around, who’ll care for her...”

Malfoy: ”...Her mother is also in the Forbidden Forest? Another Fire Dragon?”

Hagrid pulled out a handkerchief the size of a bed sheet and wiped his nose, shaking his head: ”No... I’m her mom.”

Malfoy’s expression instantly turned beyond description.

Vid watched their backs but chuckled lightly. He said farewell to Harry and prepared for the next class.

As he left, Leian walked beside him and said, ”Vid, I didn’t know you liked Professor Hagrid so much before.”

Vid glanced back at him, guessing Leian had likely heard his threats to Malfoy just now.

He sighed slightly, saying, ”Dumbledore won’t expel Hagrid, not even the Ministry of Magic has the authority to interfere in Hogwarts’ decisions about professors.”

”But if this issue isn’t resolved properly, Hagrid might shift from one extreme to another—you could imagine a whole third year spent endlessly caring for Flöbo Caterpillars, couldn’t you?”

Leian widened his eyes: ”No way, Flöbo Caterpillars aren’t part of the OWLs exam! Nor are they a key point of our textbooks.”

”Trust me, he will.”

Vid said helplessly: ”I’d prefer facing Fire Dragons or Sphinxes in Care of Magical Creatures Lessons, rather than watching our professor bring a bucket full of safe, harmless caterpillars, teaching us to shove lettuce leaves down their throats.”
