Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 329: Chapter 34: A Message

[Maki: Maki! Maki has time!]

[Zoe: Maki is lying! Maki hasn’t finished cleaning the Slytherin Common Room yet! Zoe has time.]

[Phil: Phil is here!]

[Habi: Habi is very willing to help Mr. Vid Gray. Does Mr. Gray have any orders?]

A string of messages popped up quickly, and then Maki and Zoe started arguing over the parchment.

Vid’s message interrupted the quarrel.

[Vid: Does anyone know where Dumbledore has gone?]

The messages fell silent.

A moment later, Vid finally saw a reply:

[Maki: Maki can’t tell where Headmaster Vid Gray has gone. But Maki heard there’s a trial at the Wizengamot today.]

—So until the trial is over, Dumbledore doesn’t have any time?

Vid thought to himself.

In the original storyline, it seems that every time Harry Potter encounters difficulties and danger, Dumbledore is always absent.

Or we could say—if it weren’t for Dumbledore being busy, Fudge wouldn’t come knocking to arrest anyone.

If Sirius is really taken by them, not even Dumbledore could break into the Ministry of Magic or Azkaban to rescue Sirius.

By that time, they would only have the option to go through the lengthy legal process or catch Peter Pettigrew and others to prove Sirius had nothing to do with their escape.

But Vid knows that the latter is impossible because Peter Pettigrew has perished at sea, his body never to be found.

The British Ministry of Magic’s laws are very undeveloped, with some regulations even contradicting each other, hoping to use them to prove the unreasonableness of capturing Sirius is less reliable than hoping Fudge suddenly loses interest in being the Minister of the Ministry of Magic, and Dumbledore becomes the Minister instead.

Just then, Harry sent another message—

[Harry: Sirius is in his Animagus form now; if the Ministry doesn’t find him, will they give up?]

[Vid: They must be sure Sirius is at home to come knocking. If they search the house and find nothing, they will suspect the conspicuously sized Black Dog.]

[Vid: The Animagus form bears similarities to the person. As long as the wizard is a bit careful, they can recognize it. We cannot have this fluke mentality; that’s why Lupin wants to stop them from searching.]

Vid wrote these words down while pondering—

Mice and beetles are easy to hide, but for a big black dog, the chance is too small.

It’s a pity the Disappearing Cabinet was left in the house in Hogsmeade... no, such a large Disappearing Cabinet is too obvious and easily noticed...

Nor can they let Zoe and the others take Sirius away... Sirius can perform Apparition himself, but such magic is quite noticeable and would be discovered immediately.

If Sirius escapes himself, then Remus Lupin, who tries to stop the Ministry’s people, will bear the responsibility.

Besides, if Fudge and others are smart enough, they might have already put an Anti-Disapparition Charm in place in that area.

Vid thought for a long time, then gradually had an idea.

[Vid: Harry, tell Sirius...]

The words unfolded one by one on the paper, and Harry’s eyes gradually widened, as if a new world had opened up.

The Black Dog was glaring at Fudge with a death stare; suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something move, he turned to see Harry hiding at the corner of the corridor, waving to him secretly.

Sirius hesitated for a moment, but finally went over under Harry’s urgent gaze.

As he stood up, among the Aurors, a black-skinned, bald-headed finger twitched, seemingly intending to raise his wand. But he hesitated for a moment and in the end did not move.

Sirius came to the room, and Harry showed him the parchment with letters that hadn’t yet disappeared.

...

On the other side, Vid flipped back to the page where he contacted the House-Elves.

[Vid: Can any of you Apparate from the UK to the US? I need to return to the UK as soon as possible.]

This magic is too dangerous; although Vid has read quite a bit of theory, he has not yet begun formal learning.

The adult wizards around him were also intentionally or unintentionally delaying his study progress, seemingly worried that he might recklessly separate his own head.

And the longer the distance for Apparition, the more difficult it becomes; one mistake can lead to dismemberment, serious injury, or even death.

Highly skilled wizards can perform intercontinental Apparition. But aside from Dumbledore, Vid isn’t sure who else can do it.

The shortest distance between the UK and the US is also three or four thousand kilometers, which for many wizards is impossible to traverse via Apparition.

Portkeys are certainly very useful, and the spell is very simple, but creating a Portkey also requires advanced magic.

[Zoe: Zoe hasn’t tried such a long distance. Even if Zoe could do it... Zoe wouldn’t dare to move Mr. Vid Gray along. Without enough capability, it could cause serious harm.]

The other House-Elves all expressed that this was beyond their abilities.

Just as Vid thought he would have to take the flight an hour later, Maki sent another message—

[Maki: But Maki knows who can... Relf can surely do it.]

[Habi: Right, Relf can! Go ask Relf for help!]

They didn’t write more content, presumably all ran to find that supposedly oldest House-Elf—Relf.

Vid felt a bit worried, not every House-Elf is willing to help, and this clearly exceeds their duty range.

He feared that not only would Relf be unwilling to help, but he might also punish Zoe and the others for violating the Hogwarts House-Elf rules.

Fortunately, a few minutes later, Vid saw a reply.

[Zoe: This is Relf, he can help. Where is Mr. Gray currently located?]

...

Fudge was growing impatient with Lupin’s obstruction, and his tone began to turn unfriendly.

”Remus, I’m saying this as a friend—if you continue to obstruct our duty, then I have to suspect whether you have an unusual relationship with certain people.”

”I heard you were good friends with Peter Pettigrew back in school too?”

”They all went to Azkaban, do you want to have a try too?”

Lupin’s face was slightly pale, but he insisted, ”If you think Sirius is related to the prison break, then bring evidence, don’t just make baseless accusations!”

”Isn’t that what I’m trying to do? If it weren’t for you, we might already have the evidence!”

Fudge sneered, pushing past Lupin, just about to walk inside when he suddenly brightened up.

A tall man in black clothes came out from the bedroom behind Lupin, with an impatient expression on his face.

”Sirius Black!”

Fudge exclaimed with joy, then said gravely, ”Regarding the Peter Pettigrew prison break, we need your cooperation for the investigation... Of course, if it’s proven you have nothing to do with it, we will release you and offer a full apology...”

”Sirius,” Lupin said with a troubled face in a low voice.

”Relax, mate!”

Sirius patted him on the back, walked over to Fudge’s side with an obedient demeanor, then lowered his voice and said:

”I can go with you, Minister. But someone asked me to tell you something—”
