Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 303: Chapter 10: Reputation

”Newcomer?” Harry repeated the word curiously.

”Yes.” Will smiled and gratefully said, ”I have... uh, the same little problem as Remus—”

He grinned, revealing sharp teeth.

Everyone suddenly understood—he was also a Werewolf.

”...Because of this, I had a hard time finding a job and almost starved to death... Later, Remus contacted us. He earned some money and was willing to fund us with the Wolf Poison Potion, helping us return to normal society.”

Will said full of gratitude, then looked at Vid and said, ”Because Mr. Gray gave Remus a job, we also indirectly received help. So I say—you are the benefactor who gave me a second chance at life.”

Vid shook his head: ”It’s not me who helped you; it was Remus. I don’t interfere with how he spends his salary...”

Seeing that Will didn’t seem to change his attitude because of his words, Vid paused and asked, ”You just said... ’you all’?”

”Yes, besides Will, there are a few other law-abiding Werewolves who find life difficult because of it.” Lupin said, ”However, the only one hired by Aslan Magic Workshop was Will.”

”Remus taught me a few spells in the past, not many, but I am quite proficient in using the Gemino Curse.” Will said happily, ”Because of this, I got the opportunity for this job.”

”Congratulations.” Vid nodded and said, ”But now we want to go to the workshop shop to take a look.”

”Of course, of course... Ah, this way...”

Will put down his work and led the group through the workspace, then pushed open a tall door, and the noise immediately came pouring in.

As Harry walked in, he immediately saw a gigantic, familiar face with a ferocious expression.

It took him a moment to react—that was actually his own face!

He was startled and instinctively stepped back, but the Sirius behind him quickly stepped forward and stared at the screen, asking, ”What is this?”

An enthusiastic staff member immediately stepped up, smiling warmly: ”This is the latest product from the Magic Workshop, a new invention by the genius Alchemist Vid Gray—Flow Mirror! You can think of it as the Magic World’s television...”

”I know.” Sirius turned back to look at the group, asking, ”I’m asking... When did this happen?”

In the shop, the crowded people suddenly let out a cry of surprise, with some instinctively closing their eyes and screaming, ”Watch out!”

On the huge floating screen, a Basilisk opened its blood-red mouth, fiercely lunging at Harry.

”Just before... a group of us students, in the Chamber of Secret of Slytherin, challenged the Basilisk...” Harry said, puzzled, ”I already told you guys.”

Sirius gazed at the screen, speaking softly, ”But I didn’t know it was so dangerous... I thought... I thought it was similar to dealing with the Ball Python that time...”

On the screen, a blood-drenched Harry picked up a poisonous fang from the ground, searching for an opportunity, while an injured student was being thrown by the Basilisk.

Sirius gently placed his palm on Harry’s head, tenderly speaking, ”It must’ve hurt, being injured, right?”

Harry felt a slight emotional touch, suddenly feeling a bit of a nose twinge for some reason.

To mask his emotions, he rubbed his nose and said exaggeratedly, ”Haha... I was actually so nervous back then that I didn’t feel a thing... Vid, why did you record this too?”

”Such a thrilling scene is perfect for advertising my new product.” Vid said, ”I was originally worried that Dumbledore might not agree! After all, the Basilisk is considered one of Hogwarts’ hidden secrets for a thousand years.”

”Ah! You stayed that day just to talk to the principal about this?”

Harry felt he understood, and angrily said, ”Had I known, I should’ve stopped you from staying!”

”Why?” Vid asked, confused, ”Isn’t it great for others to see that you can defeat a Basilisk?”

”Of course there is!” Harry gritted his teeth, ”I’m already troubled enough by the fame!”

Maybe their conversation was too loud; a viewer glanced back once, startled, and suddenly shouted, ”Harry Potter! You’re Harry Potter!”

Countless eyes turned towards Harry; he hurriedly tried to leave, but it was already too late.

Just moments ago, watching the screen, everyone saw the little Savior fighting bloodily, covered in wounds, and their hearts were full of concern and admiration, almost wanting to rush onto the screen to fight alongside him.

Then they turned, and the protagonist was actually right behind them?

The crowd surged forward.

Sirius and Lupin quickly opened their arms to prevent the child behind them from being squashed or trampled, even the Magic Workshop staff hurriedly came to maintain order.

But the crowd was more friendly than they expected. They just surrounded him, eager to express their feelings—

”Mr. Potter, how are your injuries?”

”Mr. Potter, can I shake your hand?”

”Mr. Potter, your courage makes me admire you greatly; I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time...”

In the hum of noise, Vid, unnoticed, silently slipped out of the crowd, and other viewers quickly filled the space he had left.

As he squeezed out, someone pulled him at once, and Vid looked up to see it was Machioni.

”I heard you came to the workshop, so I hurried over to see, didn’t expect to see this scene.” Machioni said jokingly, leading him to the lounge upstairs, ”Regrets?”

”Regret what?”

Vid asked, casually pulling at the wrinkles in his clothes from squeezing through.

”Regret giving away the chance for fame—very soon people will be chasing Harry Potter even more than they did for Lockhart last year. Seeing how popular he is, do you regret it?”

Machioni said with a smile, yet seemed a bit serious:

”Don’t argue... I know if you wanted, you could’ve defeated that Basilisk too—though it was indeed terrifying.”

”I don’t need it.” Vid said, ”Or rather—I dislike being so famous; this is just right.”

”Hmm...” Machioni pondered, watching as Harry, surrounded, lost the light in his eyes: ”Your classmate doesn’t seem to like fame either.”

”He’s different.”

Vid said: ”He was a Savior from birth. Defeating the Basilisk is nothing; his greatest achievement was defeating the Mysterious Man.”

”But before, the title of Savior was always imposed on him by others, so he was always scrutinized and doubted. But the Basilisk—he took it down with his own power, a true reflection of his abilities.”

Machioni smiled: ”Seems like you two have a really good relationship.”

”Hmm...”

Vid responded, his gaze crossing the transparent railing, seeing Will arranging goods in the shop.

In the corner, a thin girl stood with her back to the crowd, clutching his clothes, urgently speaking to him.
