War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

4294 The Chaotic Region Becomes More Chaotic The years flew by so quickly, and Duan Ling Tian gained a lot during those years. Conversely, those who ran into him suffered greatly.

“Damn it!”

“If I’m lucky and become stronger than Duan Ling Tian in the future, I’ll crush him into pieces!”

“Nice people finish last! That Duan Ling Tian is a bully!”

“Duan Ling Tian’s an animal!”

!! Duan Ling Tian was unaware that people in the chaotic region were cursing him throughout the years. News of his actions spread widely, and those who were fortunate enough not to run into him felt grateful. Otherwise, the battle merits they painstakingly accumulated would have been in vain.

Nonetheless, even if Duan Ling Tian were aware that his ‘victims’ had been cursing him, he would not have cared at all. If he was ruthless, they would have lost more than just their battle merits. Death was commonplace on the Realm Battlefield and the chaotic region; they were places where the strong preyed on the weak. In such a dog-eat-dog world, no one would show mercy to their opponents. It did not mean that those who killed were evil.

…

“The competition between the 18 Realms of Gods will begin once the three chaotic regions merged into the advanced chaotic region… At that time, the rankings would be open as well…”

On the day the advanced chaotic region appeared, the base camps did not grow bigger, but the number of people increased greatly.

When the three chaotic regions merged, the places and base camps would overlap. At the moment of merging, many people from the various Realms of Gods appeared out of thin air in the base camps. When some of them appeared, they were so close to another person that they were within kissing distance of each other. In some cases, they would appear on top of another person. There was even a case where three men were stacked on top of each other.

“Who’s that on my head?! Get lost!”

“Damn it! How dare you step on my head?!”

“You stepped on my head! Do you have a death wish?”

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to do that!”

“Why are you so rude? Fighting is prohibited in the base camps! Why don’t you make a move if you have the courage?”

“Do you think I have a choice? It’s the supreme powerhouses who arranged for things to be like that. Why don’t you complain to them?”

Indeed, this was all arranged by the supreme powerhouses.

“Alas, we can’t see the rankings yet. They’ll only appear in the sky of the various Realm Battlefields when the advanced chaotic region closes…”

The advanced chaotic region would close before the Realm Battlefield closed, and at that time, the rankings would appear in the sky.

Those who made it into the top ten would know their ranks, but they would have to check the rankings to see who else made it into the top ten. After that, they would be rewarded accordingly.

“The competition is going to be even fiercer than before…. Blood will flow like rivers in the advanced chaotic region…”

Many people sighed when they thought about the advanced chaotic region.

…

Since the base camps did not increase in size after the merging of the three chaotic regions, it was only natural that the base camps became incredibly packed now that the number of people increased. However, the number of people in the base camps dwindled quickly as more and more people left the base camps through Transportation Formations.

Most people in the base camps were divided into three types of people. There were those who knew how perilous the advanced chaotic region was so they decided to leave the advanced chaotic region and returned to the Realm Battlefield through the Transportation Formations in the base camps. Their decision was not surprising because the competition would be incredibly intense now that people from 18 Realms of Gods would be competing against each other.

The second type of people were those who chose to stay in the advanced chaotic region. They knew that greater danger meant greater rewards. They were willing to risk their lives pursuing better fortuitous encounters. If they survived, they would definitely gain a lot, and their gains might even be life-changing.

Finally, the third type of people were those who chose to stay in the base camps to monitor the situation in the advanced chaotic region first. If the advanced chaotic region was much more brutal than they had imagined, they would leave. Conversely, if the level of danger was within their expectations, they would venture out of the base camps into the advanced chaotic region to compete with the others from the various Realms of Gods.

…

“Many people left… However, I think there’s less than a 20% decrease in the number of people in the base camps. It seems like there are more people who chose to stay and observe the situation.”

“There aren’t many people who left the base camps…”

“I’m going to stay and observe the situation first. I really admire those who ventured out to the advanced chaotic region. They’re paving the way for us…”

Duan Ling Tian heard many similar conversations in the base camp. He was calm as he followed some people who were leaving the base camps. Previously, before the advanced chaotic region appeared, he had entered a base camp first. This was to avoid meeting an advanced Supreme God in the advanced chaotic region when he was unprepared. Although there was a penalty for killing opponents with lower cultivation bases, it did not matter in the beginning since everyone had zero chaotic points anyway.

Duan Ling Tian did not let his fear of advanced Supreme Gods stop him from leaving the base camp, and he did not stay in the base camp to observe the situation first. If he let his fear stop him, then there was no point in staying at all. Now that he was prepared, even if he ran into advanced Supreme Gods later, he still had a chance of escaping from them.

‘Chaotic points are integral to rise in the rankings. Battle merits are still important as well since I can still open secret realms in the advanced chaotic region. The rules from before still apply even though there are new rules in the advanced chaotic region. Due to the rules in the advanced chaotic region, people won’t kill indiscriminately, especially when they begin to accumulate chaotic points. At the same time, the fights between those with the same cultivation bases will become more intense… It’ll also be the norm for strong prodigies to fight those with higher cultivation bases…’

Before entering the advanced chaotic region, Duan Ling Tian had already decided to search for opponents who were intermediate Supreme Gods. Killing intermediate Supreme Gods was the fastest way for him to accumulate chaotic points.

‘I wonder if Ning Yi Xuan has had a breakthrough?’

After leaving the base camp, Duan Ling Tian brought his battle merit token out of his spatial ring and discovered that it was covered with a layer of energy. Following that, another token slowly formed next to the battle merit token. He probed the token with his Divine Consciousness and found the number ‘0’, which indicated the number of chaotic points he had now.

‘I wonder how long it will take for me to obtain my first chaotic point,’ Duan Ling Tian thought to himself.

Since the size of the chaotic region remained the same, the probability of running into other people had increased now that the number of people had increased. As such, everyone in the advanced chaotic region was very vigilant.

…

After wandering for half a day, Duan Ling Tian had yet to meet anyone. In fact, before the three chaotic regions merged, it was quite common to see people flying in the sky. However, up until now, he had yet to see anyone flying in the sky.

‘It seems like everyone is lying low…’

Due to everyone’s vigilance, it was difficult for Duan Ling Tian to find an opponent. At the same time, he was also constantly on guard, afraid of being targeted.
