War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

4283 Xia Jie Has Also Been Confined Xia Yu knew that Xia Jie, his third brother, had met his unworthy son-in-law. He also knew that with Xia Jie’s temperament, Xia Jie definitely would oppose his decision to help the Yun clan deal with his unworthy son-in-law. As such, he did not mention this matter at all. Otherwise, he would just be looking for trouble.

Xia Yu had also heard the recent rumors from the chaotic region that the Divine Sanction Battlefield was a part of. He heard about Duan Ling Tian, a rudimentary Supreme God whose strength was almost on par or on par with the top intermediate Supreme Gods and who could kill most intermediate Supreme Gods. Most importantly, the other party had yet to stabilize his cultivation.

Xia Yu also heard that the other party was not even a thousand years old and that he came from the Profound Energy Land’s Myriad Laws Academy, a heavyweight supreme-rank force.

When Xia Yu heard all these rumors, he already guessed that the other party was his unworthy son-in-law. His son-in-law was even more heaven-defying than what Yun Ting Feng had told him.

Alas, no matter how talented his son-in-law was, Xia Yu felt that he had no choice but to help Yun Ting Feng get rid of his son-in-law. He was not willing to risk the safety of the ancestor of the Xia clan for his son–in-law. If something happened, he would truly be the biggest sinner in the history of the Xia clan.

!! ‘The only thing I can do is not take action myself and prohibit the members of the Xia clan from dealing with him… I’ll only cooperate with him to lure Duan Ling Tian out…’

As the Clan Leader of the Xia clan, Xia Yu had long grown accustomed to deaths and making hard decisions. However, he was not completely heartless. If it were not for the safety of the ancestor of the Xia clan, he would not have agreed to help the Yun clan deal with Duan Ling Tian. At the very least, Duan Ling Tian was the man his daughter fell in love with. Alas, he truly did not have another choice.

Xia Yu sighed inwardly when he thought about this matter.

Meanwhile, Xia Jie’s mood improved greatly after confirming that the Yun clan only demanded his niece be confined for a thousand years. He said, “A thousand years will pass in just a blink of an eye. After that, I’ll be able to see Xue’er.”

Unlike when he just arrived, a smile could be seen on Xia Jie’s face at this moment. However, when he saw his brother staring at him, his smile vanished, and he said with a straight face, “I really don’t know what you saw in that Yun Qing Yan. That brat can’t even compare to Xue’er. He’s not worthy of her at all. Only Xue’er’s husband is worthy of her!”

A smug expression appeared on Xia Jie’s face after he finished speaking. It was as though he was waiting for Xia Yu to ask him why he had said those words. However, after a while, when he saw that Xia Yu was only looking at him calmly, he could no longer hold back and asked, “You… Why aren’t you curious about what I said?”

How could Xia Yu not know what his brother was thinking? He said, “I’ve already heard about it.”

Xia Yu continued to say, “A few days ago, I heard that a peerless prodigy under the age of a thousand years old appeared in the chaotic region that the Divine Sanction Battlefield is a part of. After hearing his name and his origin, I guessed his identity.” He nodded before he continued to say, “He’s really outstanding. Not even a thousand years have passed since he left the mundane realm, but he has already achieved so much. Even that prodigy from the Ning clan who’s widely acknowledged as the strongest among the younger generation isn’t a match for him. If the supreme powerhouse from the Ning clan didn’t intervene, that prodigy from the Ning clan would have died. In any case, it’s good that Duan Ling Tian didn’t kill him. Otherwise, he would have died in the chaotic region.”

Xia Yu shook his head and said, “He’s not even a thousand years old, after all. It’s normal that he’s fearless and rash at his age. Perhaps, he became complacent due to his smooth journey on the Realm Battlefield so he did not think about how perilous it was in the chaotic region…”

Xia Yu’s knowledge was not any less than that of Xia Jie.

Xia Jie scoffed and said, “So what if he made a mistake? When you were his age, you were nowhere close to being as good as him.”

Xia Yu glanced at Xia Jie and said calmly, “Sometimes, one mistake is all it takes to ruin someone.”

Xia Jie retorted, “My nephew-in-law is extremely lucky. Even in hopeless situations, he can turn things around! Xue’er is the same as well. Look at how lucky she is. She successfully reincarnated. Not only that, in fewer than a thousand years, she became an intermediate Supreme God, and her strength now has surpassed that of her past life. If you ask me, even Ning Yi Xuan from the Ning clan is inferior to my nephew. After all, Ning Yi Xuan still hasn’t become an intermediate Supreme God yet.”

Xia Yu did not refute Xia Jie’s words. Instead, an expression of surprise appeared on his face as he looked past Xia Jie and asked, “Second brother? Why are you back?”

“Second brother?” Xia Jie instinctively looked back when he heard Xia Yu’s words. However, as soon as he turned back, he seemed to notice something, and his expression changed immediately. “Xia Yu, you…”

Before Xia Jie could finish speaking, he was restrained by an incredibly powerful energy and was knocked unconscious. Following that, he was imprisoned in a spatial prominent divine artifact.

…

When Xia Jie finally regained consciousness, his expression was dark as he asked, “Xia Yu! What are you doing?”

Xia Yu replied with a sigh, “Third brother, I’ll be honest with you. In fact, apart from requesting for Xue’er to be confined, the Yun clan also asked for you to be confined. They know that Duan Ling Tian is on the Divine Sanction Battlefield. They think that he’s able to achieve so many amazing feats because you looked for him in the past and gave him some things to help him. I’ll free you after a thousand years.”

Xia Jie scolded, “Bullsh*t! Back then, I only gave him a prominent divine artifact. Moreover, that prominent divine artifact did not even have an artifact soul! He relied on himself to reach where he is today. It has nothing to do with me!”

“Third brother, just stay there. As you said, a thousand years will pass in a blink of an eye,” Xia Yu said.

Then, without waiting for Xia Jie’s reply, Xia Yu closed the spatial divine artifact. When he felt the space in the spatial divine artifact shaking, he linked the Xia clan’s Guarding Formation to the spatial divine artifact. Following that, the space stopped shaking immediately.

Xia Jie, who had been struggling to break free, could only give up at this moment. He said angrily, “Xia Yu, when I get out, I won’t let you off! I’m going to burn your room down! I will also…”

Xia Jie continued scolding and cursing until he ran out of breath. After falling silent, he began to worry. Based on Xia Yu’s words, the Yun clan had already learned of Duan Ling Tian’s existence. It seemed like he had forgotten that he told Xia Yu about how Duan Ling Tian was so lucky that he could turn things around no matter how hopeless it seemed to be.

“I hope he’ll be careful… With his strength now, it’s still not enough to take on the Yun clan…”

…

The Yun clan did indeed request for Xia Jie to be confined. However, Xia Jie was not truthful about the reason.

Yun Ting Feng asked for Xia Jie to be confined because he did not want to risk Xia Jie ruining his plan to lure Duan Ling Tian out and kill Duan Ling Tian after the Realm Battlefield closed.

Indeed, Xia Jie would definitely ruin the plan if he knew what was going to happen.

Once again, Yun Ting Feng used the same threat. He said that if Xia Jie ruined his plan and caused him to fail in killing Duan Ling Tian, he would consider the Xia clan to have broken their agreement.

In the end, Xia Yu could only agree to Yun Ting Feng’s request. As Xia Jie’s brother, he also knew that the only way to prevent Xia Jie from ruining the plan was to confine Xia Jie.

…

The Yun clan in the northwest.

Since Xia Yu, the Clan Leader of the Xia clan, had already heard about the peerless prodigy in the chaotic region who was being targeted by the descendants of supreme powerhouses, how could the Yun clan not hear about this?

After receiving the news, Yun Ting Feng felt slightly uneasy. He had confirmed that the peerless prodigy was the person who nearly killed his son in the past. Based on the news he received, Duan Ling Tian had grown stronger since the last time they met.

“How long has it been? He’s grown stronger again!”

Yun Ting Feng, who was usually calm, found it difficult to maintain his composure at this moment.

Yun Qing Yan, who had also received the news and came to look for his father, said, “Father, Duan Ling Tian is in the Divine Sanction Battlefield’s chaotic region now. He’s likely unaware that my cousin has left the Realm Battlefield. Father, why don’t we send people into the chaotic region to kill him?”

Yun Qing Yans’ expression was dark at this moment. After all, he had a huge grudge against Duan Ling Tian. In the past, he had been high and mighty, and Duan Ling Tian was as insignificant as an ant. However, after Duan Ling Tian nearly killed him, to his horror, the ‘ant’ had grown and surpassed him.

Previously, Yun Qing Yan had calmed down a lot after knowing that his father planned to lure Duan Ling Tian out and kill Duan Ling Tian. However, after receiving the latest news from the Divine Sanction Battlefield that Duan Ling Tian had grown even stronger, he began to panic again. Once again, he regretted not killing Duan Ling Tian when he was in the mundane realm.

Seeing his son’s reaction, Yun Ting Feng frowned. A hint of disappointment could be seen in his eyes as he said in a deep voice, “Calm down. You’re being too emotional. Do you think it’ll be easy to kill him in the chaotic region? I’m sure you’ve also heard that a group of descendants of supreme powerhouses is searching for him now. Up until now, they’ve yet to find him. Among them, quite a few of them hired advanced Supreme Gods to help them.”

Yun Ting Feng paused for a moment before he continued to say, “Moreover, there has been no news of Duan Ling Tian for a long time now. He’s either dead and no one knows about it, or he’s in closed-door cultivation.”

Yun Qing Yan asked hopefully, “Father, what do you think? Do you think he’s dead or alive?”

Yun Ting Feng calmly replied, “It’s highly likely that he’s alive. How can a monstrous prodigy like him die so easily? Moreover, after his close brush with death, he’s going to be even more cautious.”

It was the first time that Yun Ting Feng had heard of or seen such a monstrous prodigy. Moreover, the other party came from the mundane realm and was not even a thousand years old.

Yun Qing Yan’s expression turned unsightly when he heard Yun Ting Feng’s words. He said indignantly, “I really don’t know what the Ning clan’s Ning Yi Xuan was thinking. Duan Ling Tian nearly killed him, but he saved Duan Ling Tian’s life!”

As soon as Yun Qing Yan received the news about that incident, he had cursed Ning Yi Xuan thousands of times. If Ning Yi Xuan did not intervene, Duan Ling Tian would have died.
