Emperor’s Domination

Li Qiye ignored the egg and gestured for Teng Sujian to come closer.

“Young Noble.” She knelt, finally aware of his power.

“Do you wish to continue onward on the arduous dao path?” He asked.

“Always, I will never yield.” She took a deep breath and met his gaze.

“Buzz.” He smiled and summoned dao strands from the ground, culminating in a large dao chapter.

This came from the heavenly dao of World Seal and was a part of World City. He immediately sent one into her forehead before she could react.

“Ahh!” Waves of pain assaulted and forced her to tremble on the ground.

The strand entered and illuminated her mind, spreading its presence to the rest of her body. Eventually, she glowed in harmony.

She found herself in a boundless space with scattering runes. Wondrous visions occurred all around her – immortals, azure skies, towering cauldrons…

She understood its sheer size and could never reach its end. She calmed down and understood she was within a supreme chapter – just one part of the overarching dao.

She became one tiny part of it, just a speck of sand within a massive desert. Suddenly, her vitality and power boiled with lightning bolts and arcs issuing soft crackles.

She felt an old bloodline awakening in harmony with the bolts. Its flow was beyond what her flesh could handle. This was akin to countless needles entering her pores and bloodstreams. Some pierced the soul itself, prompting her to scream.

As the bloodline progressed, the flow only became stronger. It turned into an ocean attempting to break out of the vessel.

“Bam!” A gigantic hand pulled her out of the heavenly dao.

She woke up and found herself on the ground again. The lightning flow was no longer there. However, the pain was certainly real. Each inch of her flesh was still trembling, covered in sweat.

“What just happened?” She asked with a pale expression.

“This is the path you have chosen.” Li Qiye said.

“Does it need to be this painful?” She tried to stabilize her breathing.

“That depends on which grand dao you want. If you only want to become slightly stronger, an emperor, then you won’t need to endure so much. The fortune just now only needs a little training and your dream will come true.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Just a bit of training?” She was surprised to hear this.

“Yes. Your ancestor left behind the light and I sent it into your mind. This fortune came from World City so it won’t be difficult for you to reach the imperial realm.” Li Qiye said.

“And if I want to move forward?” She asked.

“The best way is to fortify the path.” Li Qiye said: “World Seal and its dao are right below you, the light of the bloodline is within. If you can fully awaken and withstand this bloodline, you will be able to walk the path of your ancestor.”

She contemplated, recalling the pain when that lightning blood flow coursed through her.

“Must I endure this pain?” She couldn’t help but ask.

“Is becoming an overlord easy?” Li Qiye asked.

“…” She had no response.

“Three Immortals is a blessed world, but how many have become overlords?” Li Qiye continued.

“Only a few.” She said.

“These overlords overcame everything, the lucky few. Others tried with the same tenacity to no avail, so is this little bit of pain too much to bear?” Li Qiye asked.

She shuddered upon hearing this, realizing she was fortunate in a sense.

“It is up to you and your dao heart.” Li Qiye said.

She stood in silence for a while before taking a deep breath and prostrating: “I will do my best and never yield.”
