Genshin Impact: Spoiling the Future

The content written in Dunyarzad’s book was very simple. It was just some intelligence about the Lesser Lord Kusanali that Dunyarzad had collected.

She collected these things simply because the Traveler wanted to find the Lesser Lord Kusanali. She hoped she could help the Traveler, even if only a little.

There was quite a lot of intelligence recorded in the book. For example, the water source of Gandharva Ville had been polluted, but one day it was purified by a green power.

Another example: a child was afraid at night and couldn’t sleep. A voice appeared to comfort her into sleep.

Yet another example: someone got drunk and saw a burly figure catch him when he fell. But after waking up, he discovered it was a large tree.

The first two should indeed be the Lesser Lord Kusanali, but the last one probably wasn’t. Everyone had seen the little grass god’s appearance — she was a little loli.

They even used ”little” to describe her. How could she have a burly appearance? She clearly wasn’t like Shenhe, that kind of ”burly woman.”

Dunyarzad had collected many such pieces of intelligence. The handwriting in the book was delicate and graceful, the literary style elegant.

This was truly another stab for the readers. Everyone remembered that patients with Eleazar couldn’t control their own bodies.

Like Collei — she might drop things she was holding. Her slow reading and writing was also because her hands would tremble.

But the characters in this book were so delicate and graceful. It was all so the Traveler would feel comfortable while reading.

Seeing the handwriting was like seeing the person herself. At this moment I am also in very good condition, just like my handwriting.

[Paimon started outputting again: ”This is… written by Dunyarzad. So she had always kept our matters in her heart, even back when we were at Port Ormos…”]

[”But she must have been very busy preparing for the Sabzeruz Festival, and her physical condition was so poor…”]

Yes, Dunyarzad’s body was very poor. Even when hiding from pursuit together with the Traveler she would get so tired she would pant heavily.

But her body was also very good. When she was busy with things she loved, she seemed to know no fatigue and was always wearing a smile.

Preparing for the Sabzeruz Festival was busy. Helping the Traveler collect clues was tiring. But she was truly happy. She lived a very fulfilling life.

When she wrote down clue after clue, Dunyarzad was happy. She wrote several pages in succession.

She was very happy because she felt her information could help the Traveler, even if only a little.

There wasn’t a trace of impatience in the handwriting. The writer must have been very happy at the time — she was smiling.

This made the readers recall the first loop. Back then Dunyarzad had been so joyful; the smile on her face couldn’t be suppressed.

She was like sunlight — warm, even though she was in the midst of darkness.

She had a gift to give to the Traveler. She also wanted to see the gifts that she and Nilou and the others had given to Nahida. She was about to see them.

But then, those things that would have made her happy — she actually didn’t get to see any of them…

What kind of reaction would the Traveler have upon receiving her gift? Would they be happy? Did I help at all?

What kind of reaction would the Grass God have upon seeing the Flower God’s Dance? Would she be happy? I helped!

Just a tiny bit short… The gift couldn’t be delivered in person. The Flower God’s Dance couldn’t be seen. Living without leaving regrets, yet it seemed regrets were everywhere…

Nahida looked very sad. Her aggrieved expression was recorded by Lucian.

Lucian had guessed that Nahida would definitely be sad this time, so he specially came to the Sanctuary of Surasthana to play with Nahida.

The ones also called over by Lucian were Nilou and the others. It was all to enjoy the beautiful girls’ tears together.

Don’t misunderstand — it wasn’t everyone enjoying Nahida’s tears together. It was Lucian alone enjoying the tears of all the beautiful girls. Hehehe.

These stories would make Lucian himself feel sad when reading them. But as long as he saw beautiful girls shedding tears, the sadness would turn into happiness. This was the reason Lucian liked to have gatherings when reading books.

The readers were also left silent upon seeing this. Silent, then breaking their defenses. They only wanted to say — Paimon, stop talking!! Please!!

Everyone directly said it was enough. Was Paimon’s current role to keep stabbing us non-stop!?

How many times already! From just now Paimon had been chasing after us and outputting!

You can’t get into the Serenitea Pot, but you sure slipped through that window fast, huh!

The Traveler also couldn’t stand this kind of output and turned around to run. She wanted to go see Dunyarzad, even if it was fake.

[Paimon: ”Ah, where are you going again?”]

The setting sun was descending in the west. The warm glow of dusk shone upon the earth. The golden sunlight, like ears of wheat, was no longer piercing to the eyes. Dunyarzad stood beside the long bench, gazing out at the scenery.

Now it was possible to look directly at the sunlight.

The Traveler looked at Dunyarzad’s back. Although she knew this was fake, she still said ”Thank you.”

After just one sentence the Traveler seemed to have lost all her strength and collapsed onto the long bench.

The Traveler sitting on the long bench was in a low mood, because this thanks could ultimately not be conveyed.

But that was inside the story. Outside the story it had already been conveyed. Seeing these three words, Dunyarzad felt as if her heart was directly struck. Her nose stung with sourness.

[Paimon asked with concern: ”Are you tired?”]

As soon as this question came out, even the readers instantly felt a kind of powerlessness.

Yes, were they tired? Before, they had been busy investigating the truth. Everyone had thrown themselves wholeheartedly into the story, as if they really hadn’t felt whether they were tired or not.

Later, because of Dunyarzad’s disappearance, anger and unwillingness filled their hearts. It seemed they had also forgotten about being tired.

But when Paimon asked this question, the breath everyone had been holding seemed to scatter. A feeling of powerlessness washed over their hearts. The low mood was difficult to suppress.

This kind of emotion seemed to be some kind of virus, spreading from within the book into reality.

[Paimon: ”Thinking back, we’ve really been trapped here for a very, very long time… Having a pleasant chat with Dunyarzad feels like it was already a very, very long time ago.”]

In the illustrations, scenes of the Traveler and Dunyarzad conversing flashed by one after another. Back then everyone was smiling very happily. The sunlight was just perfect.

Back then the sunlight was glaring, but it didn’t matter. Because in each other’s eyes during the conversation there was only the other person.

The readers suddenly understood. It seemed that in every corner of Sumeru City there were figures of Dunyarzad accompanying the Traveler. Her figure had always been there.

[”I still remember back then we were all sitting here. She mentioned wanting to go see Nilou’s ’Flower God’s Dance’. Her eyes were sparkling with light…”]

In the illustration was Dunyarzad’s expectant appearance when talking about the ”Flower God’s Dance.” The light in her eyes was brighter than the sunlight. When speaking of this matter there was light in her eyes.

Paimon, oh Paimon! Just after the readers had lowered their guard, Paimon came with another stab!

The readers who had just been stacked with vulnerability really couldn’t take it anymore. The Hydro element was gradually filling up.

Forget it. Paimon, just keep stabbing us. Now we even feel too tired to let go…

We just hope that Shikikan has a bit of conscience and doesn’t keep using illustrations to trigger aftertaste attacks!

In fact the Traveler was also completely immersed in sadness. The reason she was so sad was:

[”I have already… almost can’t remember it clearly anymore.”]

Character Voice · Nahida: About the Photo of Crying

”Hmm… Do you want to see it? Lucian took quite a lot. If you want to see, you can go find him.”

”Mind it? I won’t. Because even gods cry too.”
