Genshin Impact: Spoiling the Future

Actually, Dehya’s earning ability is quite strong, but she truly has no spare money—because all her earnings are donated.

[Dunyarzad realizes: ”Could it be… the source of that last batch of venue setup funds, that unexplained sum of money was…”]

Because she donated all her money, yet still wanted to help Dunyarzad, in the end she could only sell the greatsword she loved using.

The treasure I love is ultimately no match for how precious your dream is.

In this moment, Dehya’s charm is fully revealed—not only moving Dunyarzad, but also moving the readers. It’s a warm kind of moving.

The readers aren’t quite crying, but the person directly involved—Dunyarzad—does cry.

[Dehya: ”Ah, hey, Miss Dunyarzad—I didn’t mean to make you cry. Making the client cry wouldn’t deduct from my commission, right?”]

Hearing Dehya’s words, Dunyarzad laughs through her tears.

[Dunyarzad: ”…Pfft… hehe… all right. Making the client cry won’t deduct from your commission, but selling equipment without permission and getting injured for my sake—I’ll have to reevaluate those.”]

The readers say they’re hooked—what is this pure bodyguard and playful miss dynamic? It’s almost catching up to the great Prinzessin and her court astrologer.

But it’s still a bit short of the Raiden Shogun and her Guuji—those two came out too early. All of Teyvat is filled with their fan creations; they’re a famous Teyvat CP.

Inazuma authors suddenly get inspiration—why not swap this event onto the General and the Guuji?

Inazuma authors really dare to write; after the archipelago story, they wrote a ”modified version” of Mona and Fischl, changing them to the General and the Guuji.

The plot roughly goes: the General, unable to afford meals, disguises herself as an ordinary person to mooch food off the Guuji. The kind-hearted Guuji takes her in, and the General becomes a shut-in otaku.

In the end, the Guuji discovers that the freeloading loser Ei who kept coming for meals is actually Inazuma’s Shogun!

All one can say is: very reasonable. Ei, who can’t cook, mooching meals off Miko because she can’t eat otherwise—it’s totally real, not acted at all.

And this kind of plot exploded in sales in Inazuma—as long as you ship the General and the Guuji, nothing fails to catch fire in Inazuma.

But in Inazuma, someone doesn’t like this story—not Ei, but Kujou Sara.

The book sells well in other nations too—Citlali loves reading it, anyway.

Yae Miko wins big—not only winning in fan plots, but also earning a huge sum.

In fact, every nation has its own adapted versions of similar content. Barbara has collected quite a few modified novels about Venti.

She reads them with an auntie smile every night, then feels guilty the next day for reading such irreverent novels about a god, and goes to the confession room to repent.

By comparison, Fontaine people are bolder—they don’t hide it and openly perform stage plays.

They even hope their plays get seen by Furina, leaving Clorinde—who’s often with Furina—at a loss.

Because she’s frequently with Furina, she also has a role in the adapted content.

Now she has to stay by Furina’s side as her bodyguard and watch these plays with her—Clorinde doesn’t know what expression to wear.

As for this story, Inazuma people plan to adapt it too—this time more domineering: have the General directly sell her single-minded dream just to make the Guuji smile.

For Inazuma people, everything circles back to the General and the Guuji—that’s the best CP in their hearts.

If this plot were written, Miko would indeed laugh happily—but Ei really wouldn’t be able to laugh.

As the person involved in the story, Dunyarzad doesn’t think that much—she just cries.

Her voice is a little choked: ”Dehya… you…”

Dehya panics: ”Don’t cry… just like the book says, I didn’t do this to make you cry.”

Dunyarzad wipes her tears: ”I can stop crying, but you’re not allowed to sell that greatsword.”

”Okay, okay, I won’t sell it!” Dehya quickly agrees.

Indeed, there’s no need to sell it anymore—even Dunyarzad’s clothes wouldn’t need to be sold. If another Flower God’s Birthday Festival is held, Lucian would be the sponsor.

Lucian usually likes freeloading and doesn’t spend much, but now his little treasury is overflowing—not to mention he has backup treasuries in Hu Tao, Furina, Navia, Kamisato Ayaka, and other rich ladies.

The benefits of being recognized as boss in every nation show here—all except Mondstadt have bosses.

Mondstadt is special; the acquaintances there treat him as boss…

Lucian truly has plenty of money, living up to his Hydro affiliation.

Without a doubt, the current Lucian is Dori’s favorite kind of person: lots of money, few demands, likes solving problems with cash.

As long as you bring enough shiny things, Dori is your best friend.

Unfortunately, Dunyarzad in the story didn’t bring enough money, and her body is also struggling a bit—she has to sit on a long bench to rest.

”That… could you sit next to me first?”

Once seated on the long bench, fate begins to sing.

The trigger was last year’s baseball tournament—sitting on the bench of fate, Dunyarzad is about to tell her story.

[Dunyarzad says: ”Actually… I was born with Eleazar, and it has now progressed to the terminal stage.”]

Sure enough, just as everyone guessed—Dunyarzad has Eleazar.

Though it was suspected, when Dunyarzad admits it herself, the sliver of hope in everyone’s hearts shatters.

Lesser Lord Kusanali, save her!

Zhongli, can you do it? You saving her works too!

Venti—right, you’re good at suppression, you can do it too!

Holy crap, who’s the Doctor?

The current readers can’t yet imagine it—the Doctor really does come.

In fact, Lumine feels worse than the readers—this is her story; the immersion is unmatched. She’s long treated Dunyarzad as her good friend.

In reality, the two also get along quite well—Paimon is just the surface guide; the real Sumeru City guide is Dunyarzad.

Yet now the prophecy book tells her that Dunyarzad doesn’t have long to live.

Lumine: ”Lucian…”

Facing Lumine’s burning gaze, Lucian smiles reassuringly. ”Don’t worry.”

Hearing this, Lumine’s emotions ease; her suspended heart gradually lowers.

She trusts Lucian—if Lucian says don’t worry, then she can stop worrying.

Not just her—Tighnari and the others relax too. Lucian can cure Eleazar, so Collei can be saved as well. Great.

However, everyone’s relaxed hearts tense up again because of Dunyarzad’s words.

Character Voice Lines · Traveler: About Act II

Paimon: ”Wah wah wah, Traveler, don’t leave me again!”

Traveler: ”Don’t worry, Paimon—I won’t abandon you.”

Paimon: ”It’s not about abandoning—it’s don’t go into danger, okay?”

”I’ll really worry about you!”

Traveler: ”But some dangers I have to face.”

Paimon: ”Then I’ll go with you!”
