Chapter 171: Chapter 168: Going Too Far

The Gang Leader’s throne was immense, carved entirely from gold. Its armrests were sculpted into two tiger heads, giving it a majestic and imposing air. This golden throne was a seat exclusive to the Gang Leader and was normally empty. But now, Ye Xing was sitting upon it with casual confidence.

Sea Shark Gang Leader Yu Longxing’s expression changed instantly, and a sense of foreboding rose in his heart.

Sure enough.

”We greet the Gang Leader!”

Inside the hall, the Great River Gang’s Squad Leaders and Guardians all bowed to Ye Xing, their attitudes reverent.

The members of the Sea Shark Gang were instantly dumbfounded.

”He... he... he’s the Great River Gang’s... G-Gang Leader?” Yu Dazhi stammered, a sudden panic rising within him.

Sea Shark Gang Leader Yu Longxing’s face fell. ’This kid is actually the Great River Gang’s leader? The mysterious Gang Leader from the rumors!’ He had just been making arrogant threats, demanding the Great River Gang hand someone over. He had assumed the one who injured his son was just an ordinary member, a Squad Leader Level at most. He thought the Great River Gang might cave under pressure and surrender the culprit. But he had never imagined that the young man who hurt his son was the Great River Gang Leader himself. He had just ordered a Guardian of the Great River Gang to hand over their own leader. The thought was so absurd it was almost laughable.

’The Great River Gang is the number one gang in Green River Town, after all,’ he thought. ’The Great River Gang Leader’s status is naturally a cut above my own. This means getting revenge for my son’s injury will be nearly impossible.’

”Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ye Xing—’Ye’ as in ’leaf,’ and ’Xing’ as in ’star.’ It’s a pleasure to meet everyone present,” Ye Xing said with a slight smile, his gaze sweeping down over them. ”Now, what business brings our friends from the Sea Shark Gang here today?”

A flicker of movement in his eyes, Sea Shark Gang Leader Yu Longxing said grimly, ”Master Ye, let’s not beat around the bush. You injured my son. The tendons in his hand were severed, crippling it completely. Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?”

”An explanation? Is that what you want?” Ye Xing said coolly. ”Why don’t you first ask your son *why* I injured him?”

”I-it... it was... I... on the street...” Yu Dazhi stammered.

Sea Shark Gang Leader Yu Longxing knew his own son’s character well enough. He turned back to Ye Xing. ”Master Ye, even if my son was somewhat in the wrong, you shouldn’t have severed the tendons in his hand—”

”’Somewhat’ in the wrong? He dared to harass my woman. The fact that I *only* severed his tendons was an act of mercy. If I hadn’t been strong enough, the consequences would have been unthinkable. Ah, power... it truly is an intoxicating thing.” Ye Xing’s gaze grew ice-cold. ”You know, I’m in a very bad mood right now. A very, very bad mood. Sigh... why did you all have to come and cross me?”

”Ma Feng,” Ye Xing said, a cold glint in his eyes as he scanned the Sea Shark Gang members. ”If I were to kill someone right now... would these people deserve it? Tell me about their evil deeds. If they’re innocent, then never mind. I just want to kill someone to blow off some steam, and I’d rather not feel guilty about it.”

As soon as Ye Xing finished speaking, the expressions of the Sea Shark Gang members changed dramatically.

”Master Ye, don’t be reckless! Mutual destruction would benefit no one!”

”If a war really breaks out, the outcome is far from certain. Even if you annihilate our Sea Shark Gang, the Great River Gang will suffer a devastating blow, leaving you vulnerable to be swallowed up by other gangs.”

”Don’t worry, the Great River Gang Leader is just trying to scare us,” one of them whispered. ”Our Gang Leader brought the Golden Frenzied Lion. It can fight two opponents at once, more than enough to hold off the Great River Gang’s two Golden Tigers. Master Yu is also stronger than Ma Feng. With us providing support, it won’t be difficult to leave, even if this is their den.”
