My Home's Ancient Well Connects to the Martial Arts World

Chapter 163: Chapter 163: The Splashing Water of the Pool

When Tantai Mengxue opened the Qiankun Bag, the Wind-Chasing White Crane, Xia Girl, and little Chunyu appeared at the bottom of the cliff.

”SOB... Miss! Miss, are you all right? Where’s the man in black?”

The moment Xia Girl and little Chunyu appeared, they burst into worried tears. After being taken into the Qiankun Bag, they were stuck in its inner space, completely unaware of the outside world. All they could remember was the incredibly powerful man in black who had tried to kill their mistress. The two maids could do nothing but worry helplessly inside the Qiankun Bag. Their strength was no help at all—one was at the Martial Arts Fourth Realm, the other at the Martial Arts Fifth Realm. Tantai Mengxue had put them away early on to protect them; otherwise, with their Fourth or Fifth Realm cultivation, they would have been instantly killed by the man in black.

”I’m fine now. Ye Xing saved us!” Tantai Mengxue said, a faint blush gracing her cheeks, making her look breathtakingly beautiful.

”Ye Xing saved us?” The two maids were stunned. Their almond-shaped eyes went wide with disbelief. ”How is that possible? His cultivation is only at the Martial Arts Third Realm. He can’t even beat us!”

”And yet, the fact is I did save your mistress!” Ye Xing wrapped an arm around Tantai Mengxue’s shoulder and chuckled mischievously. ”Your mistress was so moved that she’s decided to devote herself to me and have my—OW! Ouch, ouch, ouch! Mengxue, be gentle! You’re killing your husband!”

Ye Xing howled in agony as her fingers mercilessly pinched the soft flesh of his waist, twisting it back and forth, again and again.

”That’ll teach you to run your mouth! Now hurry up and heal Little White!” Tantai Mengxue huffed, her face flushing red.

”All right, all right, I’m going, I’m going!” Seizing a moment when Tantai Mengxue wasn’t looking, Ye Xing launched a sneak attack, stealing another kiss on her jade-white cheek. Then he bolted to go heal the Wind-Chasing White Crane.

The two maids at the side were completely dumbfounded.

”Miss, just now... he—”

Xia Girl and little Chunyu’s almond eyes were wide as saucers. They looked back and forth between Tantai Mengxue and Ye Xing, then back and forth again.

...

The Wind-Chasing White Crane was heavily injured. Its pure white feathers were stained with patches of dark red blood. Its wings had several wounds that looked like they’d been pierced by Innate Sword Qi, but the most severe was a nearly fatal gash on its neck. Even though plenty of Golden Wound Medicine had been applied and the two maids had bandaged it, blood was still seeping through.

Ye Xing immediately placed his hand on the Wind-Chasing White Crane’s neck and activated the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Treasure, the Thunder Heart Spring Wood, within his body. Streams of the Power of Life instantly began to pour into the crane.

Specks of green light covered the crane’s wounds. Under the astounding Recovery Power of the Life Energy, its injuries began to mend, bit by bit.

While treating the Wind-Chasing White Crane, Ye Xing swallowed a Great Returning Pill to restore his True Qi. The Great Returning Pill was a Miracle Elixir that could replenish a massive amount of a user’s True Qi. Healing with the Thunder Heart Spring Wood consumed a great deal of True Qi, so Ye Xing had to replenish his own while treating the crane.

In the pitch-black night, a crescent moon hung high in the sky, casting down a serene glow. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves on the branches.

The night was picturesque. At some point, the sound of splashing water began to echo from a small pool nearby.

Two sets of clothes lay on a rock by the pool: a snow-white dress and a red one.

The water splashed. In the moonlight, two beautiful figures were bathing in the pool.

”Little Yan, why don’t you go stand guard by the pool? What if Ye Xing wanders over here after he’s done healing Little White?”

”The water’s so clear... I don’t want to get out. Isn’t Little Yu standing guard by the pool?”

”That girl is such a scatterbrain. She’s always got her head in the clouds!”

”It should be fine. He’s a grown man, how could she possibly lose track of him? By the way, Miss, are you really planning to be with that shameless rogue?”

”Mm. Before, I was uncertain. I knew I had feelings for him, but I didn’t know if it was love. It wasn’t until I was facing death that I suddenly understood my own heart. From the moment I jumped off that cliff, I decided that for the rest of my life, whether I live or die, I want to be with him!”

”But his cultivation is so weak! The Palace Master would never agree. And if anyone else found out... any one of your other suitors could make a move, and his life would be in danger.”

”Ye Xing isn’t as weak as you think. Don’t be fooled by appearances. His cultivation may only be at the Martial Arts Third Realm, but anyone who underestimates him is in for a nasty surprise.” Tantai Mengxue chuckled, covering her mouth. She paused, then sighed softly. ”However, the resistance from my Master will likely be immense. I can only take it one step at a time and do my best to persuade her. You and Little Yu must keep my relationship with Ye Xing a secret. Don’t breathe a word of it to anyone.”

...

Ye Xing was dripping with sweat from the effort of healing the Wind-Chasing White Crane. The crane’s injuries had been severe, and the treatment took a good half hour to complete. Now, all it had to do was absorb the Life Energy on its own. By tomorrow, it should be about thirty to fifty percent recovered.

He had been so focused on treating the Wind-Chasing White Crane that he hadn’t noticed anything going on around him. When he finally finished and looked up, he realized Mengxue and her maids were gone.

’Huh, that’s weird. Where’d they go?’ Ye Xing’s gaze swept over the area. He couldn’t see Tantai Mengxue or her maids anywhere. He had no idea where the three of them had run off to.

All he could hear was the sound of splashing water from the nearby pool. Curious, he headed toward the sound.

It was still night. The hook-like crescent moon and the stars cast a serene, hazy glow over the bottom of the cliff.

Ye Xing quickly reached the edge of the pool, where he saw little Chunyu sitting on a rock, watching TV on a phone. The phone was his, of course. Just as he was about to start healing the crane, little Chunyu had cheerfully run over and asked to borrow it.

The Little Maid was a total TV addict. She was completely absorbed, giggling from time to time at exciting scenes. She was so engrossed that she didn’t even notice Ye Xing walk right past her.

Her two small hands cradled the phone happily, her little head was bowed, and her big, dewy eyes were glued to the screen.

Ye Xing had wanted to ask her where Tantai Mengxue and Xia Girl were, but seeing how engrossed she was, he didn’t have the heart to interrupt.

’The splashing sounds like it’s coming from upstream.’ Ye Xing immediately headed upstream along the pool.
