After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World

”Who wants to take my wife?”

Immediately, the ground turned white as a cold snap swept through, a breath of freezing air crystallizing the earth underneath them.

The Alterrans were unaffected except that the ground they were stepping on turned to ice, while the enemies found themselves slowly freezing from feet up.

Vara immediately recognized what was happening and gulped another mana potion as he erected small metallic platforms in various spots near him. One under his feet appeared to lift his body upwards, while the others jumped over the others he created.

Some of the enemy earth users also created platforms, though they had a bit less resistance to Garan’s cold, and the freeze still reached halfway (and climbing).

Elements had less effect against fellow elements so, for now, these platforms were mostly safe from freezing.

However, how many could fit in these platforms and how many could react fast enough?

The answer was: Not many, so the Alterrans gaped in awe when they saw a majority of the people who had surrounded Althea were now frozen stiff.

”Garan!” Ansel, who had been kicked down a few seconds earlier, yelled, almost wanting to cry. However, at the same time, he knew he was coming.

”Husband…” Althea mumbled, also feeling lighter.

There was something a little different about him, but what hadn’t changed was the fact that his arrival made it feel like everything was in place again.

That was how reliable Garan was to them, even while growing up.

Garan headed here as fast as he could, and he looked at his wife, who was safe and sound, and then his brother and their friends.

”Get away,” he said, asking everyone to make way. He could not completely control this new power he just unlocked, and the best he could do now was not freeze specific people with the cold snap. Other than that, he couldn’t risk it.

Ansel immediately stood up and dragged Althea away, while the other Alterrans also tried to run.

The enemies saw the precious Elders running away and some tried to reach out, but wall of ice slowly emerged from the frozen ground, blocking their way.

They realized that walls all over were forming, slowly heading upwards as if to create another dome. However, this one was much thicker than the one they had crushed before, and it gave off a much more sinister feel.

Some people tried to rush over the forming dome, but it crystallized faster in his area. The walls were made of sharp ice crystals that stabbed those who tried to go over them.

The stronger enemies—including Feller, who had been separated from Gaia by a forming wall—felt alarm as their instincts flared. At this, they immediately lunged at Garan before he could enclose them completely.

CLASH!

BANG!

SLAM!

There had to be at least a dozen strongmen inside, and all of them were rushing over to Garan to kill him before he caused any more damage.

The Alterrans looked worried and wondered if they should go inside, but they realized they would just be collateral damage and cause trouble for the Elder.

Althea, on the other hand, created an earth platform so she could see over the forming walls, which just made her even more worried.

The people inside were not weak, and a lot of them had higher levels than Garan and some were even elementalists.

Ansel’s jaw clenched as he stared at the forming dome, too. He was on the platform with Althea, and he watched as Feller and Vara rushed together to deal with his brother.

”He’ll be fine, sis,” he said, patting her shoulder, before turning to the rest of the territory.

At this time, although there had been no new leaks, there were still a few hundred enemies unaccounted for from some earlier breaches. Now that various flares had gone off in the middle of the territory, the enemies took it as a signal to cause chaos, too.

More would also come to this place.

His green eyes watched their surroundings from their height, and he could see some rustling and some chaos approaching them.

”Garan can handle it,” he said. ”In the meantime, our fights are not yet over.”

...

”FIND THE ELDERS! TAKE THEM ALL!”

This had been the resounding order amongst the teams who had managed to get inside. It was obvious that their people had been blocked from entering now, and the only chance they had of winning this war was to get the token.

Mathilda—as the lead Lord candidate—was naturally hunted down by teams. She had been in the Guard Station coordinating various forces and attacks via their collection of aether letters. After all, the flares were great for initial responses, but they could not give a detailed strategy.

Two teams with people past level 20 arrived at the doors of the Guard Station, desperate to get her. Fortunately, she was guarded by many people and guards, and the Guard Station definitely had no lack of weapons.

Immediately, the Alterran guards went out to deal with the enemies. At the same time, a few more teams were requested to reinforce them, just in case.

After all, Miss Mathilda was the leading potential for the Lord, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if a lot of powerhouses would be there.

While they had managed to hide Miss Mathilda’s location from the general public, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the enemies eventually found out about her location.

Rather, if they didn’t, if they determined the Main Bunker was too difficult to breach, then they’d try other places in desperation, which was what happened now.

Anyway, one of the people who received the information was Gwen, who was stationed on an easement not too far away. It was an open letter to call on those available, but not at the detriment of leaving the walls bare.

Gwen had just been promoted to a captain as well after many months of hard work (she refused to get parachuted by either her brother or her mother), and was now rightfully leading her own team.

Speaking of this, other family members of the soldiers had also earned a lot of contribution points without depending on their families.

For example, Orz’s brother Ouli was also a captain of his own team now, and his vice captains were his students. Fighting together for so many years, they had become some of the most synergized teams there.

They were also very good synced dancers. Bumi had always been very impressed.

Ouli’s team was stationed on the battlement sector of where Gwen was. He read the letter as his students took down the slaves trying to climb up.

He looked at Gwen, who was pale as she read the letter. ”Go!” he said. ”We can handle this area.”

Gwen nodded, planning on leaving anyway. At worst, if this area couldn’t afford to lose too many forces, she’d have just gone by herself and left her deputy to lead!

Fortunately, Ouli was reliable, so she could take at least half of her team to reinforce the Guard Station.

Similarly Gill—who had been guarding the North side—was also informed. His face darkened like a void in space and he disappeared in place a second later. Fortunately, this area was manageable even without him.

And so... the siblings ran to the guardhouse as fast as they could, cursing those bastards who were trying to get their mother.
