After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World

At this time, Gaia was positioned at the door to the Bunker. She was a beautiful middle-aged woman wearing a dashing outfit, looking quite intimidating for a woman.

She was beyond the level cap, so she could not actively attack their enemies, but she could defend against them.

She stood upright, her sword brandished in front of her, prepared to push away anyone who approached this door.

Her sword was a thin and light Class B weapon, and she made no gesture to hide her level or her weapon’s.

This made the enemies hesitate to go through her—not that it would be easy, considering they were fighting against other guards too, all of whom were elementalists!

Feller was quickly pushed back by Jake’s consistent attacks. He did not realize he was being led elsewhere.

BANG!

”AH!”

Feller flinched when he realized he had bumped into Damco, who lost his balance and was immediately showered by a few smaller boulders from a weaker earth user!

Feller had no energy to mind him, and it was the same with Damco, who was almost stabbed at the face after being half buried to death!!

Damco quickly used his wind ability to push himself back, gasping when he felt he felt another gust of wind from the side. It was weaker than his, but it’d still cause him or his equipment damage if he took it on directly.

He lifted himself back up with his wind, quickly guiding himself in a random direction in an attempt to confuse the enemies showering him with elements.

He jumped to the side—a random direction—but gasped when his shoulder was hit. Unexpectedly, two other Alterran guards dashed towards him, sending him what should be their best skills.

Slash!

Clash!

The boulder came from Hubert, and fighting along with him were his teammates Joe and Lee. Hubert was an earth shieldsman, while Joe and Lee were fire and wind, respectively. They had been working together to handle the level 31 wind user. 1

They moved around the area, with Damco being showered by enemy elements here and there.

Joe and Lee combined their attacks, leading him somewhere. They were aware of the level differences so they knew not to give him a chance to use skills. So, with blatant disregard for mana, they showered him with elemental attacks after elemental attacks.

Anyway, they still had a few mana potions in their space.

Not far away from them, Hubert lifted his shield, stabbing it to the ground. His shield was a Class D weapon with added spikes on its face, and he used his ability to anchor deeply into the ground.

His blue orbs met with the other two’s eyes. On cue, the other two quickly upped their barrage, leading Damco in this direction, his back smack to the spiked shield.

STAB!

”AH!” the man yelled in pain. With the shower of attacks on him, his equipment would soon be compromised. No, the fact that he was already feeling pain at his back meant it already was!

Damco didn’t have full-body armor either, and he had just been taking particular care of protecting his head and neck. However, when attacks came from all angles, it was inevitable to receive a few more hits than he’d like.

”GAHHH!” Hubert and the two yelled as they continued to barrage him with elements.

The attacks never stopped. Even when someone was shamelessly gulping down a mana potion, the other two were sure to shower him with elements!

At this point, reducing the enemies as quickly as they could was most practical for everyone!

Elements rained down on Damco, with him trying to avoid as many as he could, completely going on defense.

Crack!

Damco’s eyes turned red when he felt his defense equipment break completely, so now he was taking the attacks head-on, seeing his HP lose bit by bit every second!

However, Damco was much stronger than they were in terms of level, how could he be completely helpless?

He gritted his teeth and wind started to form around him. He decided to use one of his most mana-consuming skills—he had no choice.

This was also the last skill he could use for a while, so it better be worth it!

[AIR BURST]

A sudden gust of wind exploded with Damco as the center and the few people surrounding him were thrown back several meters.

It made everyone who got hit cough up blood, receiving some internal injury. They were hopelessly weakened for the next few seconds, and it took them completely by surprise.

It was a powerful inheritance that could ignore a portion of the enemy defense, but it took out a lot of his own mana, HP, and spirit so he rarely used it.

This world where you couldn’t trust your own ally, how could he use such a skill? He had been fighting all his life, how embarrassing was it to die because of his own skill?

However, now, he had no choice!

Damco gasped, forcing himself to recover to the backlash of his own technique. He was exhausted and bleeding, but he didn’t wait another blink before jumping over the nearest enemy.

Having no mana left, he used all his strength to jump up, raising his arms high, using the resulting weight and momentum to slash down at his enemy to take his life.

It happened to be the earth user, who could barely lift his arm.

”HUBERRRT!”

Whoosh!

Smack!

Damco found himself redirected to the side by the sheer force of the attack. As he fell, he looked at his body to see an arrow embedded in his side.

Whoosh!

Another arrow flew, burying into him. This time it was on his shoulder.

Flop!

He dropped down to the ground, bleeding, with no mana, and dangerously low HP and spirit.

His eyes blurred and darkened, and suddenly he no longer had the energy to fight.

And… he had a feeling that everyone who came with him would soon receive the same fate.

So he’ll be a Slave, eh?

Whatever.

…

Althea, hidden behind the vine curtains, watched the battles with sharp eyes. She used her wood abilities to control the vines so she could still see well and shoot well despite being hidden from high-leveled sight.

Whenever someone needed help, she—or her arrows—would be there. Although the current level of the enemies prevented her from making many deadly shots, the enemies would at least be injured enough that Alterrans could take care of the rest.

Althea also made sure to use the [Curved Shot] as often as she could. This way, it’d be difficult for the enemies to pinpoint where her arrows were coming from.

In any case, she might be hiding like a coward now, but she was still going to protect her people!

Hubert were BFFs with crow trio and had a crush on Althea. Joe and Lee were passing mentions when they just became guards.
