Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

The hall of the Ye Talisman Sect was packed with cultivators. Furthermore, to boost their own influence, the Xiao family had planted quite a few of their own people among the loose cultivators to constantly fan the flames. As a result, in just a short while, all the cultivators on the street had gathered at the entrance of the Ye Talisman Shop.

Many stories regarding the origins of the Ye Talisman Shop also began to spread.

Naturally, the discussions were rife with claims that the Sect Leader of the Ye Talisman Sect was a seductively beautiful female cultivator who had bewitched the Xiao family’s genius into a daze. It was said that he had taught her everything he knew about talisman making without reservation, allowing her to establish such a massive foundation for the Ye Talisman Sect.

The majority of the loose cultivators began to look at the Ye Talisman Sect with disdain.

Rumors spread like wildfire—from one to ten, and ten to a hundred. Before long, numerous outrageous rumors had surfaced. These included tales of Ye Jingting selling her body in exchange for talisman techniques, and claims of her being stubborn and refusing to admit defeat.

”If any of you dare to spout nonsense again, prepare to cross swords with me, Xiao Shao’en! Unless, of course, you plan to hide in the Tianshu Market for the rest of your lives!” While Ye Jingting maintained her composure, Xiao Shao’en could no longer hold back.

He could not allow Ye Jingting to be subjected to such malicious gossip. He knew very well that her talent in refining talismans was exceptional. Furthermore, she possessed numerous talisman inheritances and unique insights that had greatly benefited him. It was never a one-sided teaching arrangement. If there ever was one, it would have been decades ago when Ye Jingting was still in the Foundation Establishment realm.

”Unfilial son, get back here!” Xiao Yuanhong wished he could slap Xiao Shao’en to death, his body trembling with sheer rage.

”Just go back for now. In three months, the truth will reveal itself,” Ye Jingting consoled him.

She still held a fair amount of goodwill toward Xiao Shao’en. Hearing her words, Xiao Shao’en finally nodded.

As the crowd began to disperse, Ascendant Lei Yuan also vanished into the masses.

”Aunt Jing Ting, do we need to explain ourselves?” standing behind Ye Jingting was Ye Qingqian. She also had Four Spirit Roots and showed some talent in Spirit Talismans, which was why Ye Jingting had been personally mentoring her. Naturally, Ye Qingqian was also quite indignant at the moment.

”Explain? What is there to explain? Let the rumors ferment. Once we reveal our true strength, it will be all these cultivators who have to explain themselves to our Ye family,” Ye Jingting declared domineeringly.

She did not care about such vanity. After years of independently shouldering the immense pressure of managing a sect, a shop, and the production of Spirit Talismans, she knew that an empty reputation was utterly useless. Even if others called you a Fairy, did that truly make you one? If they called you a Witch, did that make you a Witch? What truly mattered was maximizing the Ye family’s profits and achieving their goals as swiftly as possible.

She then continued, ”Qingqian, close the talisman shop. We won’t be selling anything for the next three months.”

”This...”

”Just do as I say. What the family needs right now is momentum,” Ye Jingting ordered.

At her command, Ye Qingqian had no choice but to comply. Sure enough, the moment the talisman shop closed its doors, many assumed that the Ye Talisman Sect was nothing but a joke. Even the departing Ascendant Lei Yuan assumed that the Ye Talisman Shop was simply afraid of impending failure and had no choice but to flee the Tianshu Market.

Seeing this, the tension and worry that had gripped Ascendant Lei Yuan entirely vanished, replaced by a radiant smile.

In the Xiao family courtyard, Xiao Yuanhong had gathered many of the Xiao family’s Purple Mansion cultivators. Xiao Yuanquan, the sole Golden Core cultivator of the Xiao family, was also present. The only one absent was Xiao Shao’en.

”What do you all make of this situation?” Xiao Yuanquan was the first to speak.

”Uncle Quan, I believe that girl might actually have some powerful influence backing her. It’s better to be safe than sorry. I saw nothing but absolute confidence in her eyes,” Xiao Yuanhong replied.

His words sparked a flurry of discussions among the other Xiao family elders.

”We must indeed be cautious. I will contact the Profound Origin Pavilion. They are an established Golden Core influence and currently have three Golden Core cultivators. As long as we cooperate with them, we won’t need to worry even if this Ye Jingting has a formidable background,” Xiao Yuanquan nodded.

None of those who had reached the upper echelons of the family relied on sheer luck; every one of them was incredibly shrewd and meticulous. They were absolutely unwilling to leave anything to chance.

”Furthermore, I plan to offer a twenty percent cut of our profits to the Liu family,” Xiao Yuanquan added.

In the entire Tianshu Mansion, excluding the Righteous Immortal Sect, the Mountain Map Liu family was the most powerful faction. As a Nascent Soul power, they were an absolute behemoth, much like the Profound Puppet Sect in the Xiaoshan Prefecture and Wangqing Prefecture. By sharing their profits with the Liu family, unless they were up against the direct forces of the Righteous Sect, he truly couldn’t fathom how their Xiao family could possibly lose.

And once they ascended to a Golden Core influence and could refine Tier Four Spirit Talismans, the Spirit Stones the Xiao family would earn—even after giving away a large cut—would still be vastly more than what they made before.

”I will go contact them now,” Xiao Yuanquan said, nodding when he saw that no one voiced any objections.

After all, the Ye Talisman Sect remained somewhat mysterious. Ordinary factions, even if they obtained a Spirit Talisman inheritance, would never be able to build something on the scale of the Ye Talisman Sect. Not to mention the sheer courage that girl possessed.

Three days quietly passed by.

The Ye Talisman Shop remained firmly shut, looking as if the business had genuinely changed hands and its cultivators had fled.

At that very moment, over a dozen cultivators suddenly appeared on the street. They were dressed in matching Daoist robes that did not draw much attention, but their eyes shone with extraordinary vitality. Upon seeing the closed shop, they stepped forward and KNOCKED on the door.

Before long, Ye Jingting opened the door. Her face lit up with joy as she spoke, ”Jing Hu, Yun Xi, and Yun Xuan, you’ve finally arrived!”

Ye Jingting had sent a message back home on that very first day. As expected, Ye Xingliu and Ye Haiyan fully supported her strategy.

”Come in, all of you.” Ye Jingting did not exchange too many pleasantries; instead, she quickly ushered everyone inside the talisman shop.

The greatest impact would naturally be felt when the three-month deadline arrived. For now, these Ye Family Members simply needed to stay in the shop and focus on refining Spirit Talismans. Of course, they could also take the opportunity to exchange their insights on the Talisman Dao. Every Ye family member who had come here possessed an impressive mastery in talisman making.

”I suppose this could be considered a gathering of our Spirit Talisman Hall,” Ye Yunxuan chimed in from the side.

Everyone laughed and nodded in agreement. After all, the Talisman Hall Master was Ye Jinghu, the Vice Hall Master was Ye Yunxuan, and Ye Jingting held the title of Steward in the Spirit Talisman Hall. His description was perfectly accurate.

”Here is the list of Spirit Talismans we need to refine. I can handle these...” After a brief catch-up, Ye Jingting took out a list. It contained seven types of Spirit Talismans—all of which were ones she wasn’t entirely confident in making herself.

She was only at the Middle Stage of Purple Mansion, and a newly-broken-through one at that. Furthermore, since she had relied on the family’s Spirit Beasts and Spirit Pills, her foundation wasn’t completely solid. Therefore, while she was highly confident in refining Tier Three High-Grade Spirit Talismans, crafting Tier Three Top-Grade Spirit Talismans was quite difficult for her.

”Piece of cake,” Ye Yunxuan waved his hand dismissively.

He had been capable of refining such talismans back when he was at the Middle Stage of Purple Mansion, and now he had already reached the Late Stage of Purple Mansion. The only challenges that currently caught his eye were finding ways to carve Spirit Talismans onto Tier Three or Tier Four Demon Beasts to significantly boost their combat power. That was the true bottleneck for Ye Yunxuan.

”Yun Xuan is already capable of refining the Small Celestial Gate Talisman. When the Talisman Conference begins, we’ll use my Tier Four Thunder Talisman and Yun Xuan’s Small Celestial Gate Talisman to make a name for ourselves,” Ye Jinghu added from the side.

”However, Brother Hu, before the Talisman Conference, we still need to meet with the Mansion Master of the Tianshu Mansion and Vice Patriarch Liu of the Mountain Map Liu family,” Ye Jingting reminded him lastly.

”That won’t be a problem. Eleventh Brother has already given me the jade mirror from Prince Wang. As long as we approach them with absolute sincerity, everything should go smoothly,” Ye Jinghu nodded.

Before coming to the Tianshu Mansion, the Ye family had naturally made all the necessary arrangements. He was merely here to go through the motions. There was absolutely no one who could stop the Ye family from seizing the Spirit Talisman market in the Tianshu Mansion.
