Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

The scorching sun hung high in the sky.

The plaza on Celestial Shadow Peak was bustling with noise.

Besides the cultivators, quite a few mortals were scattered around the area.

Today was the day the Ye family held the Immortal Ascension Conference, and these mortals were the mayors of their respective villages and towns.

As the Ye family hosted more and more Immortal Ascension Conferences, those mayors had come to realize that families who had previously produced cultivator descendants needed to be well looked after, as they were more likely to give birth to more cultivators.

The same applied to the direct descendants of cultivators—they also required special attention.

Only this way would their towns produce more and more Immortal Seedlings, thus securing their positions as mayors.

Consequently, the number of clan members attending the Ye family’s triennial Immortal Ascension Conference increased almost every cycle. At a glance, there were already over a thousand people present today. It could easily be considered the largest and most populated Immortal Ascension Conference the Ye family had ever hosted.

Ye Haicheng and Ye Xingxiao were still in charge of the entire Immortal Ascension Conference. However, unlike previous times, the Ye family would assign all the Immortal Seedlings to the Clan Study Hall. They would undergo unified cultivation there before being transferred into the core of the family.

This time, the Ye family was making early arrangements based on Spiritual Root Affinity.

For instance, those with strong Fire Attribute Spiritual Root Affinity would be prioritized and sent to the Pill Hall and Artifact Hall for preliminary screening. Those with strong Water Attribute and Wood Attribute affinities would be highly recommended to the Spirit Plant Hall and Spirit Talisman Hall.

Some family members would also be assigned to the Branches.

This wasn’t to say that the Ye family was struggling with cultivation resources. Rather, as the number of Ye family cultivators continued to grow, they needed more Spirit Talisman Masters, Spirit Plant Masters, Alchemy Masters, and Artifact Refiners to ensure the family’s welfare and stipend systems didn’t collapse.

As for assigning people to the Branches, this was to maintain a high degree of control over the Ye family bloodline within the Celestial Phoenix Oasis.

After all, there were now over a thousand Immortal Seedlings with Spirit Roots, and four to five hundred of them were non-bloodline members. The Ye family couldn’t possibly house them all in the Celestial Phoenix Oasis’s Clan Study Hall like they used to.

Once all the Spirit Root tests were completed, Ye Xingxiao couldn’t help but sigh. The family’s harvest this time was the same as always. The best they got were a few Dual Spirit Roots; neither Celestial Spirit Roots nor Abnormal Spirit Roots appeared.

”This is just the norm. It would be bizarre if Celestial Spirit Roots and Abnormal Spirit Roots constantly showed up,” Ye Haicheng remarked beside him, not showing much disappointment. On the contrary, looking at the vibrant, lively children, he felt a greater sense of anticipation.

In the Ye family, what mattered was never just Spirit Roots, but also perseverance, temperament, the Beast Communication Pattern, and talent in the Four Skills of Cultivation.

”However, Xing Xiao, your task is quite heavy,” Ye Haicheng added. ”This time, I need you to secretly select five people, primarily those with Three Spirit Roots in the Fire, Earth, and Water Attributes. Their innate talent doesn’t need to be exceptional, but their Beast Communication Patterns must be strong, and their loyalty to the family must be absolute. Guide them to choose easier Cultivation Techniques. The family currently needs a large number of Golden Core and Purple Mansion cultivators. Even if we have to force their growth, we need more of them. If we can figure out the most suitable combinations of Cultivation Techniques, Spirit Beasts, and Spirit Roots for rapid cultivation, we won’t end up with a hollow middle tier due to our rapid expansion in the future.”

”Understood!” Hearing this, Ye Xingxiao wasn’t sure for a moment whether this was a good thing or a bad thing for the selected family members.

While this strategy would undoubtedly allow those members to cultivate quickly, relying entirely on the family’s Spirit Beasts to pull them up meant they would lack their own solid foundation. This made it very easy for them to stagnate at the Purple Mansion realm, finding it nearly impossible to break through to the Golden Core.

But for the Ye family, it was indeed time to test this out.

The reason why, despite the existence of the Beast Communication Pattern, the Ye family could still easily overlook geniuses with specific talents was simply that they had too many members.

Moreover, the base of Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment cultivators was massive.

If they could discover the most compatible Cultivation Techniques, Advancement Pills, Spirit Beasts, Spirit Roots, and Spirit Pills, the Ye family could at least offer some members an alternative path in the future.

This was similar to how many families, under immense pressure, had to force many of their members to break through and become Fake Pill Cultivators just to bolster their family’s foundation.

Of course, there were even more benefits. For members like Ye Teng Chuan—who had poor cultivation talent but immense aptitude for special crafts—they could apply this template to rapidly increase their cultivation. This would grant them more opportunities to research the Four Skills of Cultivation and showcase their true talents.

It was just that the required screening process would cost the Ye family a lot more effort and resources.

”You should also prepare well for the family tournament. The rewards for the Purple Mansion tier are exceptionally generous this time,” Ye Haicheng reminded him with a smile after giving his instructions.

Ye Xingxiao nodded.

Unlike the previous Purple Mansion tournament, which had few participants, this time there were over sixty people joining.

Furthermore, other Ye family members would be observing and learning from this tournament. For Hall Masters like him, they naturally couldn’t afford to perform poorly.

After finishing his conversation with Ye Xingxiao, Ye Haicheng retreated into the main hall. Sitting in the Master’s Chair, he resumed his contemplation.

To him, whether it was the family assembly, the Immortal Ascension Conference, or the tournament, none of them would actually cause any major issues.

What he had always been worried about was the Nascent Soul ceremony at Lingyun Peak in the Eastern Domain.

Because the Ye family did not want to expose their full strength, the ceremony naturally had to be held separately. At the same time, this was meant to boost the morale of the Eastern Domain Sects.

But precisely because of this, Lingyun Peak was the most concerning. It was highly likely that Penglai cultivators would infiltrate, and they might even continue to target the Ye family’s Beast Communication Pattern Inner Hall Race People.

The Ye family needed to take more precautions. After all, True Monarch Chi Xue hadn’t made a move after suffering a massive loss, and they certainly didn’t believe he would just swallow that bitter pill in silence.
