Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

As the morning light rose from the east, the illuminated Cloud Sea gradually faded until the sun pierced the clouds, bathing the earth in its glow. Countless Cultivators opened their eyes. Instead of looking east, they turned their gazes toward Lingyun Peak.

DONG!

As the ceremonial bell tolled, Smoke Dragons had already ascended into the sky above the peak. Accompanied by the Smoke Dragons, Earth Lizards, Three-Eyed Demon Rocs, Thunder Rocs, and Cyan Cloud Wolves soared into the air one after another. Following them, many common Spirit Beasts—such as foxes and Fire Cloud Birds—swept across the sky. This grand spectacle naturally drew the attention of countless Cultivators. It was a grand ceremony unique to a Beast Taming Clan.

Besides the aerial Spirit Beasts, dozens of smaller Spirit Beasts like Snow Foxes and Mountain-devouring Rats formed two neat rows at the foot of Lingyun Peak, flanking the mountain path to welcome the guests in advance. Behind the Spirit Beasts stood the Ye Family Cultivators.

Today, the father-and-son duo—Ye Qingquan and Ye Jingyun—stood with perfectly straight backs. Their Daoist Robes looked exceedingly sharp, and they exuded an imposing air, brimming with Essence Qi and vigor. For this occasion, one was responsible for announcing the Foundation Establishment Purple Mansion guests, while the other handled the Golden Core and Nascent Soul arrivals. Since this was the most important Nascent Soul ceremony for the Ye Family, they naturally had to uphold the clan’s majesty.

”The ceremony begins,” Ye Jingcheng announced to Ye Haicheng and the others at the Assembly Hall located halfway up Lingyun Peak.

Instantly, the chimes of bells and ringing cauldrons resonated across the peak once again, accompanied by the melodies of zithers, gongs, and drums. The mist shrouding the mountainside began to completely dissipate. For the first time, Lingyun Peak revealed its full grandeur to the numerous clans and Cultivators.

They beheld the towering peak, Beast Valley, the winding river, and most importantly—the Geng Ladder of the Celestial Spirit Body Refining Array that the Ye Family had prepared well in advance. It cascaded from the mountainside like a massive, resting Broadsword.

”Everyone, ascend the mountain and celebrate with the True Monarch!” Ye Jingyun called out to the crowd.

Immediately, the various powers began their ascent. Naturally, those walking at the very front were the Qi Cultivation Cultivators and Qi Cultivation Influences. They practically set down their Treasures and proceeded directly up the mountain. As usual, the Ye Family had planned everything meticulously; Qi Cultivation Cultivators were also welcome to ascend for wine and feasting. Since they did not require grand entrances or fanfare, they could simply file in slowly along the sides.

Meanwhile, in the center path, the Foundation Establishment Clans and Foundation Establishment Powers had already begun their climb.

”The White Night Mountain Liu Clan congratulates True Monarch Qianchen on his Nascent Soul Great Success, specially presenting a stalk of Tier Two White Bamboo Grass...”

”The Shanyuan Jia Clan congratulates True Monarch Qianchen on his Nascent Soul Great Success, specially presenting a stalk of Tier Two Cyan Moon Grass...”

...

Naturally, the Treasures presented by the Foundation Establishment Cultivators were not particularly spectacular, but to the Cultivators themselves, these items were highly precious. Of course, to Ye Jingcheng, these Foundation Establishment Cultivators and clans were actually somewhat unfamiliar. After all, it had been over a hundred years since he first took charge of the Lingyun Ye Family and actively monitored the political landscape of the Yan Kingdom.

Many of the old clans had either been wiped out or faded into obscurity with age. They had risen and fallen, experiencing the endless cycle of prosperity and decline.

It wasn’t until the Purple Mansion Clans began presenting their Treasures later on that Ye Jingcheng finally felt a sense of familiarity. The first to present a gift was none other than the Wei Family. Ye Jingcheng’s gaze fell upon the distant, elderly Wei Dazhong, who was leading Wei Yuanyu and over twenty beautiful Female Cultivators up the mountain.

This scene not only stunned Ye Jingcheng but also left the other clans bewildered. After all, most clans attending the ceremony would bring their most talented young men. The Wei Family’s unorthodox approach today naturally attracted a lot of attention.

”The Cloud Lake Wei Family congratulates True Monarch Qianchen on his Nascent Soul Great Success, specially presenting a three-thousand-year-old Tier Four Middle Grade Spirit Medicine, one Earth Essence Ginseng Jade Fruit...”

Hearing this, Ye Jingcheng was surprised once more. The Wei Family had certainly put a lot of thought into this. He could tell that Wei Dazhong did not have much time left to live. However, for them to bet everything on the Ye Family at a time when the Penglai Sect was eyeing them like a tiger watching its prey required considerable boldness. Furthermore, this Earth Essence Ginseng Jade Fruit was exactly the Tier Four Support Medicine needed for his Golden Scale Pill. Though, in truth, Ye Jingcheng had already gathered all the necessary Spirit Medicines for it.

Following the Wei Family’s congratulations, other factions—such as the Cyan Cloud Nunnery, a branch of the Ye Family—also began presenting their gifts. In addition, the Purple Mansion Clans from the four kingdoms—the Yan Kingdom, Zhao Kingdom, Jin Kingdom, and Wei Kingdom—ascended the mountain one by one. There were nearly thirty Purple Mansion Influences in total. The Treasures they presented all possessed their own unique characteristics.

When it was the Shi Family of Taiqing Commandery’s turn, Ye Qingquan did not open the Treasure they produced to inspect it. Instead, he simply asked, ”What is Shi Daoist presenting?”

On the list provided by the Taiyi Sect, the Shi Family was marked as one of the factions likely to have been bribed into switching sides. They were relatively close to the Qinghe Four Commanderies and not far from the Celestial Corpse Sect’s sphere of influence.

”We are presenting a Tier Three Seeking Origin Crystal,” the Shi Family’s Purple Mansion Cultivator replied, his eyes feigning composure.

Seeing this, Ye Qingquan did not make a scene and instead followed up with the customary announcement. ”The Taiqing Stone Race congratulates True Monarch Qianchen on his Nascent Soul Great Success, specially presenting one Tier Three Seeking Origin Crystal...”

As he spoke, he passed the Storage Bag to the Cultivator behind him. However, unlike the other Treasures that were stored together in bulk, this Storage Bag was sealed inside a specialized Jade Box Magical Treasure and isolated with Spirit Talismans. In the Ye Family’s calculations, those who might cause trouble would likely do so by planting something problematic within their gifts. Therefore, the Ye Family had taken preemptive countermeasures. If the Shi Family felt slighted by this, they were welcome to prove their own innocence. The Ye Family hadn’t barred them from ascending the mountain, after all.

There were two other Purple Mansion Clans treated in the exact same manner as the Shi Family.

Once the Purple Mansion announcements concluded, it was time for the Golden Core Clans. Among them, the Jiang Family and Li Family from the Taichang Commandery naturally took the lead.

Jiang Xuanyuan of the Jiang Family walked over toward Ye Jingyun. He did not hand over a Storage Bag. Instead, he held out a translucent Jade Box, which contained three stalks of Tier Four Spiritual Medicine and six stalks of Tier Three Spiritual Medicine.

Pasted on top of the Jade Box was a Spirit Inquiry Talisman.
