My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 308:

Robert’s POV

My breath accelerated with excessive madness, and my chest constricted with a burning heartbreak; I could never bear or accept the idea of Carlos searching for her or tracing her footsteps in secret, because I remember very clearly, as if it were yesterday, how he used to look at her with eyes filled with passion, and how he wanted her and desired her for himself before... he too aspired to possess her! My mind could not tolerate the idea that he might still carry a single atom of love or attachment for her inside his cursed heart.

Carlos raised his hands quietly and with balance to ease the intensity of the situation, and tried with effort to fix his balanced gaze into my anxious, sharp eyes, saying in a calming tone: ”Calm down, Robert, and do not let your thinking go too far... I am only searching for her place to know where she settled and how she is after her sudden absence.”

I ground my teeth with a burning malice, and the veins of my neck convulsed terrifyingly while I roared in his face with a voice that shook the office: ”And what is your business exactly with her condition or with her life?! She belonged to me alone!”

He looked at me with serious, sad, and highly bitter features, and said in a low voice that nevertheless carried the folds of truth: ”You know very well the reason for my interest in her, Robert... so there is no need to play the role of the blind.”

I stepped toward him quickly with a rushing, aggressive step that threatened his safety, narrowed my eyes with flying evil, and asked him in a burning tone that came out like embers: ”Answer me clearly... do you still truly love her? Or are you still stubbornly refusing to remove her ghost from your cursed head?!”

Carlos took a deep breath with heartbreak, and his rigid features relaxed with an explicit sadness and a pain that floated to the surface, but his eyes remained fixated with courage into mine, and he said with honesty: ”Yes, Robert, I will not lie to you... Julie is still residing in the depth of my heart, and I cannot in any way forget her or erase her.”

At that fatal moment, I felt an overwhelming, brutal, and crazy desire to destroy the office and shatter everything completely over his head because of his insolent confession; I gripped my fist with a crazy force until my knuckles turned completely white, and said in a low voice resembling the hiss of a snake from the intensity of the suppressed anger: ”You must do this as soon as possible! It does not matter to me at all how you will do it, but you must erase her and expel her from your head completely!”

Carlos sighed with severe distress, and adjusted his stance as he rose from his place slowly and quietly, then fixed the jacket of his suit with clear fatigue and a running out of patience, saying with formality: ”Robert... I, in this state of mine, cannot discuss with you or keep up with you in this futile subject right now.”

I pointed with the palm of my trembling hand toward the exit door with violence, my entire body shaking with a sweeping convulsion, and said with a threat: ”Yes... go and leave immediately, Carlos, because I truly do not know what I will do to you or to your body right now if you remain for an additional second!”

Carlos turned around in silence, and left the office with heavy and tired steps, closing the wooden door behind him quietly. I stood in my place alone trying to gather and restrain my lost and wasted breath, when suddenly and loudly my mobile phone placed on top of the desk rang. I stepped and snatched the phone with excessive nervousness, and when I found on the screen that it was my father, I pressed the answer button firmly and brought it close to my ear with detachment and a tone devoid of emotion: ”Yes, father... what do you want from me at this time?”

My father’s hoarse voice came to me, denouncing my method: ”What is this dry and hostile tone with which you speak to your father?”

I sighed sharply and with distress, and said with a complete lack of patience: ”Come on, tell me... say what you want quickly so I can finish.”

My father replied in a commanding, stern tone that accepts no discussion or justification: ”Come immediately to the house; I want to speak to you and discuss with you a very important and necessary matter.”

I knitted my eyebrows with apprehension and doubt, and asked with suspicion: ”What is this necessary matter?”

He said with a cutting brevity to his presentation: ”I will tell you about it in detail when you arrive at the house... come on, come now without delay,”

then he cut off the line in my face immediately without introduction.

I moved the phone away from my ear with sweeping rage and oppression, and in the meantime, it was followed by a light, cautious, and hesitant knocking on the door; I threw the phone carelessly onto the desk and shouted with sharpness and yelling: ”Yes... enter quickly!”

The door opened slowly and Olivia entered with hesitant and fearful steps, and interlocked the fingers of her hands before her body in dread, saying in a faint tone: ”Sir...”

I averted my sarcastic gaze from her and from her stance, and sat on the edge of the wooden desk carelessly and crossed my arms firmly, saying with a dry and stern command: ”Pour me some whiskey immediately.”

She nodded her head with a hope and joy that floated onto her face, and moved quickly and actively toward the high-end beverage table; she held the bottle with two delicate hands and poured the golden liquid into the glass cup, then turned with her body and moved toward me with swaying, intentional, and provocative steps until she stood directly in front of me, and extended her hand with the cup while smiling softly and with coquetry, saying: ”Here is your cup, Mr. Robert.”

I took the cup from her hand with detachment and revulsion, and raised it quickly to my lips and took a powerful and burning sip from it, my eye suspended on the vacuum without looking at her. But suddenly, and with a bold and completely unexpected movement, Olivia leaned over me with her body in an exaggerated and close manner; my eyes widened in severe disgust and revulsion when I noticed clearly that the upper buttons of her shirt were opened more than necessary to intentionally reveal the charms of her chest by a prior planning to seduce me.

My entire body stiffened from her insolence, and I looked into her eyes with complete rigidity and a decisive, fatal tone: ”What the hell are you doing, Olivia?”

She did not retreat or feel ashamed from my look; rather, she leaned more with a stupid daring and insolence, and brought her lips in a scandalous and shameful manner close to my face and features until I felt clearly the heat of her breath on my skin... but in a fraction of a second and with a brutal reaction, I raised the palm of my hand and pushed her violently and with excessive force backward to move away, and shouted with features filled with ferocity and anger: ”What do you think you are doing, Olivia?!”

She retreated two steps in shock and astonishment from my violent reaction, adjusted her troubled stance, and her face flushed with severe emotion and shame, then she interlocked her palms with an overwhelming and desperate emotion and said, her voice trembling with confession and tears: ”Mr. Robert... do you not see with your eyes that I love you madly? Long years have passed since the first day I came to work here while I am infatuated with you and love you in silence!”

I averted my face with fatigue and suffocation from her drama, and placed the whiskey cup on the table with a light strike that produced a clinking sound, and said with a biting disparagement and sarcasm: ”Olivia... I do not possess any time or energy to hear this nonsense and cheap emotional trivialities.”

She advanced another step with insistence and stubbornness, and her eyes teared up with oppression and jealousy as she shouted with emotion: ”Have you not noticed throughout those years how I look at you with passion? I have waited long and with hope until you notice me and turn to me... but you never did! And this ignorance and detachment of yours kills me slowly every day!”

I turned to her with my entire body and presence, and the features of my face stiffened with authority, pride, and harshness, and I ground out from between my teeth with firmness: ”I am your boss here in this work, and only... keep to your boundaries and your place properly!”

Olivia’s face ignited with burning jealousy and a deep-seated malice toward my past, and she waved her hand with a blind emotion and screamed with an unprecedented insolence and daring: ”And that Julie, what was she to you? She was just a whore and a cursed commodity..... and yet you noticed her and adored her! Why her specifically?!”

As soon as her filthy mouth uttered Julie’s name and that insulting word, the fires of hell and evil opened inside my head and every atom of sanity vanished; in a blink of an eye faster than lightning, I rushed from my place like a fierce, raging beast, and gripped with my huge palm onto her neck with force, squeezing, and excessive violence, and pressed with my strong fingers on the passage of her breath to choke her words until I lifted her in the air to rest and collide against the concrete wall behind her. The features of my face convulsed with a brutal madness, and I bent with my face toward her face, which was pale as death, and said in a terrifying tone coming out like a deadly hiss: ”Don’t you dare, Olivia... don’t you dare let your tongue utter her name or say this nonsense again regarding her! Do you hear me?!”

Her eyes were widening in real terror and fear of murder, her delicate body convulsing with weakness and frailty, and her breath cutting off and suffocating indeed between my strong fingers.

I tightened the pressure on her neck for an additional second, squeezing her, then added with a roaring voice that shook her entity and terrified her: ”And if you repeat or duplicate this absurdity and insolence again, you will regret it in the harshest ways... and you will find yourself thrown like dogs outside without mercy!”

I released her neck with revulsion, disgust, and complete detachment, so she retreated backward in helplessness and fell almost to her knees on the floor while holding her neck with both of her hands in pain, coughing heavily and with a wheeze as she tried to catch her breath with difficulty and fatal panic. I did not look at her or at her weakness again; I bent with a quick step, took my mobile phone from on top of the desk with a tight hand, then turned around and left the office with roaring, violent, and fast steps, heading with a rush to my car.

I rode the car with an overpowering emotion and pressed with all oppression on the gas pedal powerfully, and drove at a crazy, supernatural speed toward my father’s house while rage and doubt were still devouring my inside fiercely. When I finally arrived, I got out and advanced toward the main entrance, then knocked on the door with violence and urgency; within mere seconds, the door opened slowly and the maid appeared, so she retreated a step backward in respect and dread from my congested appearance and said: ”Welcome, Mr. Robert... please come in.”

I entered inside with a convulsed body, and did not look at her or give her attention, but rather asked in a dry and cutting tone: ”Where is my father? Tell me quickly.”

She pointed with her trembling hand toward the upper floor and said in a low voice: ”He is present in his master bedroom.”

I bypassed her with supernatural speed and cut through the spaces of the living room, then climbed the steps of the stairs with heavy, successive, and angry steps; I arrived at the threshold of his room and opened the door with a rush and force without knocking or asking permission. I found him there as usual, sitting with his lifeless and helpless body on his wheelchair, giving me his back in silence while looking distributedly from the large glass window toward the garden outside.

I stood at the entrance with pride, and crossed my arms over my chest with complete rigidity and said in a dry tone: ”What the hell is going on? And why did you request me with this urgency?”

He turned with his chair with extreme slowness toward my direction using the wheels of the chair, and scrutinized his old, wrinkled features into my face congested with blood, then pointed with his trembling palm toward the leather seats and said with a provocative calmness: ”Come first... and sit down so we can speak with reason.”

I advanced with balanced and stern steps, and sat on the sofa directly opposite him with stubbornness, and rested my elbows on my knees with impatience and distress and looked directly into the depth of his eyes and said: ”Yes... here I am, cut it short and say what you have, for I have no time to waste on dramatic scenes.”

He sighed with bitterness and mockery, and his thin shoulders relaxed as he shook his head with a final regret and reproach: ”Always as is your habit, you possess no time or patience for your old father.”

The lines of my face tightened with extreme harshness, and I ground out from between my teeth in a tone that carried all the boiling, oppression, and torment of the past years and the hatreds: ”Because simply, and with all that you have done in the past... you never deserve it!”

A suffocating silence prevailed throughout the corners of the room for seconds in which breaths convulsed and the place constricted, then my father clouded his piercing, wicked glances toward me and asked in a faint, sharp, and suspicious voice: ”Answer me honestly, my son... are you still actually searching with all your powers for Julie’s place?”

My features contracted with sweeping distress from his question, and I adjusted my seating with an anxious rush, pressing with my strong fist onto my knee and saying with a convulsion and shouting: ”You told me on the phone that you need me for an important and fateful matter!!”

My father moved with his wheelchair forward a little toward my direction, and gripped with his thin and weak fingers onto the armrest of his wheelchair firmly, and leaned with his head toward me with malice while his eyes radiated a shocking and scary reality; he uttered every letter with deliberation, emphasis, and focus: ”When Julie was still present in the club... and at the exact time in which I specifically was injured and cast down by a bullet, do you actually know where she was present?”

My entire body stiffened on the sofa as if a thunderbolt had struck me, and my eyes widened with apprehension, and I rushed with my upper torso and half of my body toward him in an anxious and panicked step and asked him: ”Tell me immediately... where was she?!”

He fixed his harsh, cold, and charged glances into my eyes with a kind of gloating and revenge, and uttered with a loud, crushing voice whose words completely shook my entity and shook the corners of my mind and thinking to flip the table: ”She was present in a nightclub belonging to Wilson... and she caused a problem and sweeping chaos with Wilson inside, and when they cornered her, she screamed and said to him... that she is Carlos’s lover!”
