My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 94:

Julie’s Point of View

Suddenly, I felt a coarse hand clamp onto my arm and pull me with a swift force into the room before the door slammed shut behind me with a muffled creak.

I retreated until my back hit the solid wood, panting in terror, only to find myself face-to-face with the same guard. He was bare-chested, his lean, muscular abs clearly defined under the room’s dim light.

The space was cramped, containing nothing but a simple bed, a small television, and a worn-out wooden wardrobe.

He fixed his sharp gaze on me and asked in a dry tone:

”What are you doing here?”

I swallowed hard and tried to straighten my shirt with trembling hands, saying:

”I just wanted to see what was here.”

He exhaled with annoyance and looked away:

”Fine... your curiosity is starting to become terrifying.”

I whispered while trying to calm my heartbeat:

”Thank you for saving me.”

He turned to me suddenly, taking a step that made me shrink into myself, and said in a low voice:

”Now, tell me the truth.”

I knitted my brows and asked warily:

”What truth?”

He tilted his head slightly and said sarcastically:

”Do you think I believed that Mr. Robert hit you?”

My eyes widened in shock and I said:

”You helped me... that means you believed me!”

A short, cynical laugh escaped him, and a mocking smile formed on his lips:

”Really? Kissing Mr. Robert’s foot? That specific part needed more polishing in your lie.”

I tightened my grip and said defensively:

”Why? He’s a savage, and anything is possible with him!”

He shook his head in disagreement and said with sudden seriousness:

”Yes, but he doesn’t hit women... even our first rule as guards is to never touch the women here at all.”

I laughed bitterly and waved my hand:

”Nonsense! A guard hit me in the face on my first day here.”

His expression changed, and he laughed with a strange tone, saying:

”Oh... so you were the one that scoundrel hit?”

I said, pointing to my cheek which still remembered the pain:

”Yes, and that explains that all the rules here are just a trick.”

He approached further, his voice dropping to a hiss:

”Robert broke the hand he hit you with.”

My composure shattered from the shock, and I opened my mouth in helpless amazement:

”What?”

He continued with a coldness that terrified my soul:

”And the guard Ron flogged him here in front of us all... then tied him up in the gym until he died.”

I couldn’t process what I heard; I felt my knees betraying me as if the earth were swaying.

I took a step back until the back of my leg touched the edge of the bed, and said with a stutter and a cracked voice:

”Did... did he really die?”

He nodded with a terrifying coldness and said with one decisive word:

”Yes.”

He pulled the wooden chair and sat on it, then pointed his massive hand toward the bed in a commanding gesture:

”Sit now... and start your story.”

I sank onto his hard mattress and began telling him what happened, my hands clasping and unclasping nervously.

I told him how my father sold me to Robert, not once but twice, and how I ended up here.

I intentionally skipped the details of putting someone in prison in exchange for my freedom, and settled for telling him that Robert offered me the position of his personal assistant.

The guard exhaled air from his chest and said in a low tone:

”Mmm... your story is truly sad.”

He leaned his body forward, examining my cheek with a scrutinizing look, then asked:

”And this... what is the reason for it?”

I touched the spot of pain with my fingertips and said resentfully:

”It’s Olivia.”

He pursed his lips and said with a scowl:

”That venomous snake.”

I agreed with a head boiling with rage:

”Yes, she is a bitch.”

He adjusted his sitting position and said:

”Tell Mr. Robert... he will surely stop her.”

I shook my head vigorously and dismissed the idea completely:

”Absolutely not... I won’t tell him.”

He shrugged with indifference and said in a provocative tone:

”Fine, then get used to the taste of being hit, because you’ll be receiving a lot from her in the future.”

A spark of anger ignited in my eyes, and I rose from the bed with a body charged with the desire for revenge:

”If only I had her strength... that whore is much stronger than me.”

Suddenly, I stopped moving and a crazy idea flashed in my head; I looked at his muscular arms and said with an excitement that made my pulse race:

”Since you are a guard... you know how to fight, don’t you?”

He looked at me in confusion and knitted his brows:

”Yes, of course.”

I took a step toward him, the glint of challenge shining in my eyes:

”Teach me... teach me how to fight!”

A resounding laugh erupted from his chest, shaking the small room, and he wiped an imaginary tear from the corner of his eye while saying:

”Oh... you are truly funny!”

My body stiffened and I felt the blood boiling in my veins, so I shouted sharply while clenching my fists:

”There is nothing funny about what I said! I just want to defend myself.”

He stopped laughing and looked at me with a scrutinizing gaze, scanning my body from head to toe, then said sarcastically:

”Do you think you’re in a movie? Look at yourself, fighting requires build and strength, and you need a lot.”

I took a step toward him and raised my chin in defiance:

”Try me and you’ll see that I learn fast.”

The features of mockery retreated and were replaced by concern, so he shook his head in flat refusal:

”No... I won’t do this. It’s very dangerous, and Mr. Robert will cut off my head if he finds out.”
