Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Sister Huan, standing to the side, summoned the courage to speak on Xia Qingqian’s behalf: ”Young Master, Miss Xia spent three hours simmering the soup. Her culinary skills rival those of a five-star chef.”

Xia Qingqian couldn’t handle such praise; she would blush whenever complimented. She lifted her eyes, shook her head gently, and said, ”Sister Huan, you’re exaggerating. I only make home-cooked meals; they can’t compare with five-star chefs at all.”

Sister Huan’s exaggeration made her heart skip a beat. After all, the young master usually dined on five-star cuisine, where every dish was quite refined, unlike her makeshift approach.

”Hmm, as long as I say it’s delicious.” Beitang Yao said this as he finished a bowl of soup, and Sister Huan went forward to serve him another bowl.

Sister Huan teased, ”See, even the young master says it’s delicious.” Looking at Xia Qingqian’s modest demeanor, she thought this girl must be a good one; she saw a hint of Madam’s aura in her.

After serving the soup, Sister Huan withdrew, leaving the young master and Miss Xia to their private world at the dining table.

The young master was usually busy and didn’t spend much time on such matters. It was rare for him to bring a woman here, which clearly meant he cared deeply for this girl, didn’t it?

”Do you really think it’s delicious?” She felt a bit disconnected, wanting to hear confirmation once more.

Beitang Yao surprisingly nodded patiently, emphatically affirming, then placed a honey-glazed wing in her bowl. His gaze fell on Xia Qingqian’s hand, which was a bright red – seeing this made his heart ache terribly!

He put down his chopsticks, grabbed her hand, bringing it close to his lips to blow gently, frowning as he asked, ”Did the oil splash here?” Seeing her red hand, his heart couldn’t help but ache.

Honestly, her injury from such a simple dish made him feel somewhat guilty.

”I’m fine; it’s common for oil to splash when cooking, I’m used to it.” Xia Qingqian felt a warmth in her heart. Her hand was cradled in Beitang Yao’s arms, and she fought back tears, shaking her head.

”Have you also gotten used to how others bully you?” He was really defeated by her; she could even get used to these things!

”I’m really fine; hurry up and eat, or the dishes will get cold and won’t taste as good.” She withdrew her hand and spoke to him softly.

When Beitang Yao finished his soup, she took his bowl and said with a faint smile, ”I’ll get you some rice.”

He handed the bowl to her, and she served him fragrant soft rice and even added some dishes – something he permitted, but she had to use communal chopsticks.

Soon, Beitang Yao finished a bowl of rice and quite a bit of food, but he had to leave room for a tasty dinner later.

So, when he lay down his utensils, she also looked up, set her chopsticks down, and wanted to serve him more rice. He wickedly said, ”I must save some appetite for later... for you...”

He spoke shamelessly, his eyes sparkling.

Xia Qingqian blushed, suddenly recalling their intimate moments; resistance welled up in her as she lowered her head and murmured, ”Yao, stop messing around!”
