Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

His voice was soft and gentle as it reached her ears. She smiled softly, her gaze falling in the distance, ”I can do it, I promised to cook for you.” When he said that, did he mean he would come back for dinner?

”Alright, I’ll hang up now. You go prepare dinner, remember to ask Sister Huan for help, don’t wear yourself out.” He had tasted her cooking before, and it was truly delicious. But he really didn’t want her to tire herself out, and she still had to take care of him in the evening.

He put down his phone, suddenly imagining that delicate figure busy in the kitchen. He had never felt such a subtle feeling before! His woman cooking for him, of course, he was delighted!

Xia Qingqian was willing, even happily willing to cook for him. She never minded how the cooking fumes might affect her skin. Such a simple woman was exactly what he wanted.

When he was with Shen Youran before, she would only make him noodles, never a sumptuous dinner.

After Beitang Yao quickly finished his work, he drove back home. As soon as he entered the house, the aroma of food wafted to his nose. He took off his coat, and a servant came up to take it: ”Young Master, you’re back! Miss Xia is preparing dinner, waiting for you to return.”

Beitang Yao nodded faintly. He would only show a hint of tenderness towards Xia Qingqian; he was always cold and indifferent to others, even to his own family, let alone these servants.

He walked into the kitchen and saw that little woman still wearing that pale yellow home dress, her hair tied up and cascading down her back. She was skillfully stir-frying the dish in the pan, completely unaware that he had returned.

He stood there quietly, arms crossed, watching her busy figure. She turned off the heat and placed the finished dish onto a plate. As she turned around, she saw the tall Beitang Yao standing at the kitchen door, somehow unable to associate Beitang Yao with a kitchen.

So, when they were in the United Kingdom and he personally cooked her a bowl of noodles, she was touched. From that moment, she secretly vowed in her heart that she would never let Beitang Yao cook again. She couldn’t bear the sight of a grown man bustling about in the kitchen. Especially considering he was a man who had been raised in luxury, she felt sorry for him.

Kitchen work is inherently a woman’s duty. How could she bear to let him enter the kitchen?

”You’re back, huh?” Her cheeks were flushed, perhaps from staying in the kitchen for too long. This silly girl had been busy all afternoon and hadn’t come out to rest.

”Mm...” he replied softly, actually stepping forward to embrace her. He didn’t mind at all, holding Xia Qingqian with all her sweat and cooking fumes mixed in his arms, which dumbfounded the servant standing nearby.

”Don’t... I’m covered in cooking fumes and sweat...” She tried to push him away, ”I’ll go take a shower first.”

How could he be hugging her at a time like this? She was definitely filthy now, yet he was hugging her like that? She really couldn’t understand why he would do such a thing...

Hearing her words, he tightened his arms around her waist a bit more and took a deep breath, ”I don’t mind you being covered in cooking fumes.” Holding her, he closed his eyes to relax for a moment. He was truly exhausted and, holding her like this, he nearly fell asleep.
