Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 833: Chapter 834: A Feast for the Eyes

A clear yet low voice fell into the air, commanding, ”Come here.”

Xia Qingqian was taken aback and didn’t respond immediately. Before Beitang Yao could show his displeasure, she pointed at her own nose, looking at Beitang Yao, as if to ask if he was calling her.

Beitang Yao neither nodded nor spoke, but withdrew his gaze from her, waiting for Xia Qingqian to come over by herself.

Xia Qingqian’s body felt heavy, and she silently cursed herself as an idiot hundreds of times before she moved towards the sofa. She wondered what the Young Master wanted from her.

As soon as she steadied her steps, she received Beitang Yao’s glance devoid of any emotion. He glared at her and then said, ”Make tea.”

This time, Xia Qingqian clearly heard the command. She knelt half on the glass coffee table, elegantly and earnestly making tea after washing the tea leaves clean.

There’s no denying that her graceful and skilled tea-making movements held Beitang Yao rapt, so pleasing to the eye.

It turns out, she wasn’t as useless as she had thought; at least she could translate documents within the specified time. She could even make tea, and for a moment, he felt like he was in a tea ceremony room.

Most importantly, she was quite obedient.

Perhaps she was forced into this path?

He seemed to avert his eyes a little.

Xia Qingqian handed the freshly brewed tea to Beitang Yao respectfully, lowered her eyes, and softly said, ”Young Master, please drink tea.”

Beitang Yao’s eyes flickered. He uncrossed his legs, leaned forward, and accepted the teacup Xia Qingqian handed over with his long hands.

The aroma he smelled was that of tea, faint yet mellow, so refreshing.

After he finished one cup of clear tea, she had already prepared the second one and respectfully handed it to him.

He didn’t take it but put down the still-warm teacup in his hand, ”Where did you learn the tea ceremony from?” He started to show a bit of interest in getting to know her, just a bit, not much.

Xia Qingqian paused, slowly placed the teacup on the coffee table, interlaced her hands on her lap, and softly replied, ”I spent some time in a small teahouse.” She had recently taken a leave of absence because she signed a contract with Beitang Yao, and couldn’t do things as she wished.

Having knelt for so long, she didn’t feel her knees hurt because the floor was covered with a soft, comfortable carpet. Its texture was excellent; it must have been expensive, Xia Qingqian thought to herself.

When at the teahouse, they mostly received Japanese guests, and the Japanese etiquette involved kneeling to make tea for guests.

And since the time was a bit long, the owner, considering they were girls, had them all wear bandages on their knees.

Beitang Yao fell silent and had no inclination to exchange idle chatter with her.

He still couldn’t understand Du Ziheng’s request, why he wanted to borrow Xia Qingqian to fool his aunt.

The office had an exclusive bedroom for him, and during this time, he would always rest in the bedroom.

”Your workspace is there,” he pointed to an empty room partitioned off with glass, ”During my rest, no one can come in and disturb me.”

With that, he headed towards the bedroom.

As the moment Beitang Yao’s bedroom door closed, Xia Qingqian tidied up the items on the coffee table and walked to her designated office.

She gauged the office size with her eyes, roughly about forty square meters, slightly smaller than the previous one. But overall, the president’s office was indeed much larger.
