Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 828: Chapter 829: Can I Stay Here?

Du Ziheng straightened up, carefully observing Xia Qingqian, noticing her pale complexion. He asked in a gentle voice, ”Why does your face look so pale?”

He wanted to reach across the table to catch her, but unexpectedly, Xia Qingqian collapsed onto the floor a step ahead of him.

In shock, he jumped directly over the semicircular office desk, quickly lifting her into his arms, gently tapping her sweat-drenched cheek. An aching pain like being bitten by ants surged in his heart.

”Xiao Qian, what’s wrong?” he asked her with furrowed brows. She, dizzy and confused, clutched her stomach tightly, almost biting her tender lips with her teeth.

Seeing her like this, Du Ziheng was at a loss. He could only help her up and let her rest on a chair.

He picked up the phone and dialed the extension for Beitang Yao’s office.

Soon, Xia Qingqian was taken to the company’s infirmary, where Ye Feng, dressed in a white coat, examined her carefully.

Sitting by her bed, Ye Feng asked, ”Miss Xia, did you not have lunch today?” The company’s cafeteria is available for employees to dine.

He could only blame himself for forgetting to ask someone to look after Xia Qingqian, as he was busy meeting a client that day.

After administering a nutrient injection, her complexion improved slightly.

She sat up, nodding gently but avoiding Ye Feng’s gaze.

”Night Wind Housekeeper, did I not perform well? Will the Young Master dismiss me?” Her first question was about her job. She had tried very hard, yet now she had embarrassingly collapsed.

”You did very well; it was our arrangement that was too harsh. Once you’ve recovered, we’ll adjust your work responsibilities.” Although Xia Qingqian’s job was only as a translator, Ye Feng was satisfied with her performance. For her first attempt, she did exceptionally well.

Xia Qingqian was taken aback, quickly looking up. ”Night Wind Housekeeper, can I continue to work here?” Her eyes were filled with watery mist, like a serene stream quietly flowing.

Ye Feng nodded, ”Your stomach pain was caused by overworking. Personally, I’m quite satisfied with your translation work.” It was just that the Young Master’s demands were too high, expecting Xia Qingqian to match Miss Cheng’s devilish pace, which was quite unreasonable.

”What about the Young Master?” Was the Young Master angry? Collapsing during work was truly embarrassing.

Just as Ye Feng was about to speak, the infirmary door opened, bringing with it the aroma of food.

In the next moment, a tall, slender man walked in, carrying two bags, smiling as he approached Xia Qingqian.

He placed the two bags on the bedside table and personally took out a bowl of millet porridge.

”You’re working so hard without rest or sleep, not taking care of yourself. Even if you had extraordinary abilities, you shouldn’t push yourself like this,” the man said with a hint of reproach, then handed the bowl to Xia Qingqian.

This Beitang Yao was unreasonably demanding, subjecting employees to workloads that would take an ordinary person a week to complete in a single day.

Xia Qingqian accepted the millet porridge handed to her by the man, with a faint smile at the corner of her mouth. ”Thank you for your concern, Young Master Du. I’ll be fine after a little rest.”

Du Ziheng glared fiercely at Xia Qingqian, who was still lying on the bed with a pale face. ”If you keep going like this, you’ll risk your life.”
