One-Eyed Monster

Two years neither feel long nor short.

During this time, so many things happened, Igor himself took a while to digest them all.

There were many things he couldn’t predict.

Now he’s here watching the sunrise, waiting for someone.

He’s waiting for that one-eyed monster.

Kadi is also going down the mountain with him.

Kadi said he wants to become an adventurer too.

Igor naturally supports Kadi’s decision, but he also analyzed the feasibility of the matter. After all, everyone here, though they have extraordinary appearances, are people of this world. However, Kadi is different; he clearly isn’t from this world. Life was simple for him here on Guru Mountain thanks to the care of many seniors. Now he’s saying he wants to become an adventurer — it’s a bit tricky. Not everyone can adapt to it.

Igor struggled with this for a long time, but eventually, it was the suggestion from the Great Mentor that made him see the light.

The Great Mentor said that Kadi going down the mountain is a great adventure journey, Igor, you can greatly improve your experience as an adventurer.

Upon hearing the Great Mentor’s words, Igor resolutely decided to take Kadi down the mountain.

Originally, he was also Kadi’s friend, and now he gets to be Kadi’s mentor. This thought made Igor uncontrollably excited. Soon he would embark on an adventure with Kadi, thinking of the difficulty, thinking of the thrill, he couldn’t help but be excited everywhere.

Now he is at Dawn Peak waiting for Kadi. After dawn, they will set off down the mountain, and now the sun is already high in the sky.

Kadi should be here now to go down the mountain with him.

But Kadi still hasn’t come; clearly, Kadi’s farewell process is long and complex.

There are so many monsters, he has to say goodbye to each one, and each is his elder. Facing these people, he surely has a lot to say, so it’s only normal to take a bit of time…

Igor didn’t accompany Kadi precisely because he didn’t want to see these scenes of farewell. He said he was giving Kadi private space, but in reality, it was because he himself didn’t want to face the farewell scenes.

So he’s here slowly waiting for Kadi’s arrival, he really doesn’t want to participate in these farewells…

The sun has risen high in the sky, gradually turning from a bright red to a golden hue, the warmth now covering the entire earth. Kadi looked into the distance, but there was still no sight of Kadi.

This guy, what’s he up to? He’s been saying goodbye since last night and still isn’t finished? Igor is starting to feel a bit impatient, mainly because this endless wait is unsettling for him. The longer he waits, the more he feels that reluctance. This unwillingness could temporarily shelve the current plan, making him unable to decisively act. Ultimately, he’s just a person who values affection and can’t easily say goodbye…

Igor feels that at this time, Kadi must also have much to say to these seniors, and these seniors must have lots of pointers to give Kadi. Taking some time is natural, it’s not long after dawn yet, the sun has just begun to spread its heat, the day has only just begun, he shouldn’t be so anxious.

What must come will come, what must go will also leave; Igor naturally understands this simple truth. Thinking about it this way, Igor gradually feels much better, no longer confused or helpless.

Sunshine spills over his body, making him feel warm. Once Kadi arrives, they will set off, as to where exactly to head, he needs Kadi to give a suggestion. Because in Igor’s mind, there are too many places he wants to visit, and he doesn’t know how to choose.

The waiting time always makes one feel a bit helpless, but fortunately, Igor’s wait has an end. Kadi, bouncing and skipping in the distance, finally approaches tardily.

”Ah, Igor, sorry for the long wait!”

”No, not at all, I just finished watching the sunrise.” Sometimes Igor finds that he doesn’t blush when telling insincere words.

”It’s not officially summer yet, the weather is still quite cold. The Great Mentor asked me to give this to you, so you will feel a bit warmer.”

With that, Kadi handed a flask to Igor.

When Igor saw it, it was the Great Mentor’s most cherished treasure. Being handed to him really moved him. The flask, carved out of Rum Fruit shells, looked very exquisite, something money couldn’t buy.

”Oh, and Kuren, he asked me to give this to you.”

Kadi handed Igor a set of bamboo skewers, clearly the tools Kuren used for the World Setting Technique, now also passed to Igor.

”Also, Arnold asked me to tell you, don’t get lost in the Time Gap, as it could lead to self-destruction. Although I don’t quite understand the Time Leap part, whatever Arnold instructed surely isn’t wrong.”

At this point, Kadi had virtually become a messenger, relaying all the messages the Guru Mountain monsters entrusted to Igor.

Igor felt he should find a crack in the ground to slip into. He hadn’t even said goodbye to these seniors before leaving, yet they never forgot him, repeatedly advising and gifting him, leaving him a bit embarrassed. Really, how could he avoid goodbyes like this!

Look at Kadi, and then look at himself, it’s truly a stark contrast!

Igor felt extremely guilty.

”Let’s go, why are you standing here stuck?” Kadi found it odd why Igor stood there like a block of wood.

”I…” Igor didn’t know what to say. He felt that in these two years, he received so much care, and now transformed, he hadn’t even said a thank you to these seniors; it was quite unkind of him.

”Hurry up, the Great Mentor said to bring some good wine back for him when you return.” Kadi urged once more.

At this moment, Igor was even more frozen, unable to move. Suddenly, he jumped from the large rock, knelt with both knees, and bowed several times towards Moonflow Stream.

”I am deeply grateful to all the seniors for their care, I will definitely return with answers.”

Kadi watched Igor’s actions with bewilderment. Why go to such lengths? Why couldn’t he just say goodbye to each one last night? Was there a need for this now?

Igor’s way of saying goodbye puzzled Kadi greatly, but he didn’t comment. After all, Igor was always unique in whatever he did, always different from others.
