One-Eyed Monster

”More good news or bad news?” Igor was conflicted; he wanted to listen but also didn’t want to. To be precise, he wanted to hear the good news but was afraid of hearing the bad news. He felt like a coward, always wanting to avoid some things. Especially regarding Kadi’s identity, he constantly chose to keep it hidden and didn’t even want to mention it.

”Both aren’t few.” The more Igor acted like this, the more the Sol Brothers refrained from being direct, as if they were deliberately teasing Igor’s curiosity.

This made Igor very anxious; he was never good at handling communication, and the two brothers were deliberately vexing him.

”Alright, alright, just tell me, stop teasing me.” Igor was impatient, feeling he needed to make it clear to the Sol Brothers that his patience had limits.

”Hehe, we’re not joking with you. The resistance alliance has made some progress.” The Sol Brothers replied.

”What?” Igor almost jumped up from the ground upon hearing this. It was a huge matter. Just as they expected, some members of the resistance alliance had returned to this world; not everyone had gone to the Eternal Tranquility Realm.

”Also, there’s been significant progress with Stim and the others. It won’t be long before we can expose those potential enemies.” Sol continued.

”Oh, oh, oh, we should inform the Grand Master about this as well...”

”The Master is right next to you!” Tobin Sol said with a smile.

”Huh?!” Igor turned his head and saw that indeed the Master and Kevin were beside him all along, without him noticing.

”Continue, don’t mind us.” Grand Master Guzan said, preferring to be a listener most of the time.

”Uh...” Igor fell silent, as he always got embarrassed at critical moments like this.

”It’s his old problem; Teacher Hadi helped him with it for a while, but now it seems that Grand Master, you need to handle it.” Stan Sol said to the Grand Master.

”No worries, it doesn’t require the Grand Master; I can handle it.” Kevin grinned, ”Just place Kadi next to him, and he’ll start talking immediately.”

Kevin called Kadi over, and even though Kadi was performing a war dance, he sat right next to Igor.

”Hey, Igor, what’s up with you!”

”It’s nothing...”

”It’s obviously not nothing. Tell me, what’s going on?” Kadi pressed relentlessly.

”Really, it’s nothing. I wanted to discuss some recent events, but suddenly got tongue-tied, that’s all.”

Indeed, Kevin’s method proved effective. Kadi was truly Igor’s remedy, and soon Igor started chatting away.

”Did a resistor come to Luona to find you, or did you find the resistors?”

In an instant, Igor’s questions flowed continuously, no longer awkward like before.

The Sol Brothers smiled and glanced at Kevin, puzzled by how he managed to get him talking so quickly.

”Hehe, this guy just needs a bit of prodding. With a few pushes, he’ll naturally improve.” Kevin seemed to say something unrelated, but the Sol Brothers were satisfied and nodded.

Igor’s shyness truly required someone like Kevin to cure it, because Igor wasn’t an uncommunicative person; he just felt like a Junior who didn’t dare speak in front of seniors, always bottling up inside until the natural overflow of emotions made him speak. He and Kadi were well-connected, treating Kadi as a friend, so he never felt awkward in front of Kadi, which is why Kevin mentioned prodding Igor.

Anyway, Igor returned to normal. To overcome this mental obstacle, as Kevin suggested, he needed some good prodding.

”A resistor sent us a message through a crow.”

”Can you tell whether it’s real or fake?” Igor asked.

”Regardless of authenticity, anyone who can respond to our messages is at least in the Border Realm, either a Soul Devourer or a resistor, so I’m not concerned about the authenticity.” Tobin Sol said.

”We’ve decided to meet with those who sent the message. Any advice from the Grand Master?” Sol suddenly turned to the Grand Master.

”The entire world is sensitive right now, any small movement will attract attention from major organizations. I don’t think meeting them is a good decision.”

”So what does the Grand Master suggest we do?”

”Let others go instead of you.”

”How can this work? Others might not fully relay the entire message back to us. Moreover, if the other side is an enemy, won’t it be a needless sacrifice?” Igor exclaimed.

”What do you think we should do, Igor?” Grand Master Guzan wanted to hear Igor’s suggestion.

”This... Anyway, I don’t think others should replace us.”

”Hehehe...” the Grand Master laughed.

”Is the Master’s advice to test the waters first?” Tobin Sol asked.

”Yes and no.” Kevin, beside them, spoke up.

”What do you mean?” The Sol Brothers were intrigued by the Grand Master’s suggestion.

”You know, many people are on the road to Guru Mountain?” Kevin asked.

”Of course, we also helped block quite a few greedy organizations.”

”Can you stop everyone?” Kevin continued to ask.

”Well... We can only do our best.”

”Exactly, let those guys come to Guru Mountain. With the information they have about you, they can pass through your defense line.” Kevin continued.

”The Master implies...”

”Correct, leave it to us, anyway, Igor is here.”

”Huh?” Igor felt suddenly involved again. How did he suddenly get dragged into this?

”Weren’t you just saying not to let others replace you? Then it’s up to you. You go meet the resistors at Guru Mountain, how about that?”

”That’s a great idea!” Kadi jumped up, ”That way I can see the resistors!”

”Uh...” Igor was at a loss for words again.

”Then, we trouble you, Grand Master and Igor,” the Sol Brothers stood up, bowing to Igor and the Grand Master.

”This...” Igor was a bit baffled. What on earth?

”This is the result of our deliberation!” The Sol Brothers were all smiles.

Igor looked at the Sol Brothers, the Grand Master, and then Kadi, feeling he had been left out of the loop again.
