One-Eyed Monster

At the moment Igor was causing a commotion, Kadi was wholeheartedly focused on protecting the Fire Tree Silver Flower.

Kadi’s trust in Igor was based on his character. He knew that Igor would never give up, no matter what, a trait they both shared.

Although Igor’s ability to cause trouble couldn’t compare to Kadi’s, Igor had his own strengths. He possessed an unwavering belief, which had enabled him to obtain the Scale of Faith. With the old lady’s constant guidance, he was naturally different from the rest.

Igor unintentionally drew the attention of the Puppet Soldiers to his presence. His frantic dashing about highlighted their inherent characteristic: sluggishness.

These emotionless Puppets were incapable of independent thought and could only follow orders. Their orders were relatively rigid: fixate on one target and eliminate them systematically. Those who resisted often remained stationary, not running amok like Igor, making it impossible for them to stir up trouble as he did.

This was a rare scene: the unfeeling Puppet Soldiers entangled with the Death Knights, momentarily inseparable.

The Puppet Soldiers began to close in on the fleeing Igor, thrusting their spears, while the Death Knights aimed to corner him.

However, at this moment, Igor’s Scale of Faith tilted. His speed and strength increased. Although he couldn’t defeat all these enemies, he could easily dodge their encirclement and attacks.

After all, these Puppets were controlled by others; their speed wasn’t particularly fast.

The Puppet Soldiers and Death Knights had the advantage of endless numbers. Their offensive power might not have been overwhelming, but the relentless assault created a strong sense of pressure.

Because even Igor, constantly on the move, would eventually tire...

This was an Inner World created by Kuren. Through Kadi’s special ability, everyone had entered this Inner World, including the Dark Force. The Dark Force was confused. Why would its opponents choose to resist using a method it excelled at?

It was most proficient in this kind of Inner World and mental attacks. Of course, it hadn’t yet achieved the ability to envelop everyone within a single Illusionary Realm at once, so it could only deal with them individually.

It wasn’t that its power was insufficient for a group fight; it simply wasn’t accustomed to placing so many different individuals within the same space.

After all, making so many people adapt to a single law, and finding a law that everyone would submit to, was something it couldn’t yet do.

It could only take a targeted approach, setting a unique trap for each person—a law of entrapment designed to subdue them...

However, to its surprise, these seemingly insignificant beings had managed to create a law under which they could coexist, and they had even applied it to their entire resistance. If it hadn’t reacted quickly, it might have collapsed at a crucial moment.

The Dark Force was still pondering. How many shells had it collected? Was it one thousand nine hundred fifty-six or one thousand eight hundred twenty-three? Regardless of the number, it could enlarge those shells; controlling an army of tens of thousands was still achievable.

But it didn’t quite understand the law within the opponent’s Illusionary Realm.

Whether it understood or not, the Dark Force quickly regained control of the dominant position in its familiar way and initiated a swift counterattack. Initially, it doubted the likelihood of success, but as the counterattack progressed, it suddenly found itself back at the helm of this system of law.

Sigh, there was nothing to be done. It was an unexpected outcome, yet it happened nonetheless, leaving the Dark Force feeling almost flattered by the surprise.

It hadn’t expected to so easily master the law of integrating everyone into an Illusionary Realm. Although it was a bit bizarre and coincidental, none of that mattered. What mattered was that it had gained control over the others here.

Soon, their shells and experiences would all become part of it. What kind of state would it attain then?

It could feel the extraordinary experiences of these people. Indeed, it hadn’t exerted this much effort in many years.

In the past, devouring and assimilating others had always been easy and casual. But this time, perhaps due to the sheer number of people, it was already expending a great deal of energy.

Controlling so many Puppets was a tiring task, after all.

Luckily, it had isolated them again. Devouring a group was much harder than devouring an individual.

Its army had already begun to steamroll them...

As long as it held on a little longer, these precious souls, rare experiences, and those shells would all be its.

What a magnificent harvest this was!

This triumphant mood of the Dark Force didn’t last long, because Igor was stirring up quite a commotion.

Initially, Igor’s escape didn’t significantly impact the overall situation. After all, within an army of tens of thousands, the movements of one individual wouldn’t cause any ripples. As Igor had initially thought, if one’s strength isn’t extraordinary, a single punch won’t make much noise and naturally won’t cause chaos.

However, when Igor managed to draw the Dark Death Knights and Puppet Soldiers into a tangled mess, it caught a sliver of the Dark Force’s attention.

The Dark Force hadn’t expected anyone to be capable of acting against the law established within this Illusionary Realm.

The law it referred to was the foundation for this entire Illusionary Realm’s existence. Everyone who entered this realm had to follow that law, and whoever could see through it would be its master.

Previously, when the Dark Force dealt with individuals, it hoped the law of its created Illusionary Realm wouldn’t be deciphered. So, it had neglected those who might see through the law, leaving them to face a blank void.

However, it hadn’t anticipated that these restless beings would create an Illusionary Realm of their own. Even though it had now mastered the law of this Illusionary Realm, it still felt rather displeased.

It was like digging a pit to trap prey, only to fall into it oneself without catching anything. A frustrating feeling indeed.

Fortunately, having regained overall control, it once again dominated the situation.

However, the emergence of this boy left it somewhat perplexed.

The matter with the previously incomprehensible boy wasn’t even resolved, and now another one had appeared. Could this Guru Mountain truly be so magical?

But despite its surprise, it still maintained control of the law; it wasn’t at the point of losing control…

So, it dispatched a portion of its Puppets to assist…

Many past decisions made by the Dark Force had yielded immediate, wonderful results. This time, however, its decision didn’t bring the positive outcome it expected.

Because Igor’s ultimate goal was precisely to attract its attention!
