One-Eyed Monster

The monster slowly stood up again. Though its movements were sluggish, it still managed to rise.

Milo and Kevin were astounded by the monster’s resurgence, but it didn’t affect Kadi’s squad.

They had come here to fight this monster and save everyone. Now that the monster was back on its feet, it meant they had more work to do.

Igor had stored its Lightning in the container, so the monster shouldn’t have any special abilities left.

While the monster had gotten back up like a persistent cockroach, it now had no advantages at all.

”Hey, ugly freak, show us what you’ve got! After being blown to smithereens, you probably don’t even know what you are anymore!” Kadi continued to taunt. He was good at this—keeping up the act of being bait.

After all, as long as it was Lightning, they could capture it!

The monster knew it couldn’t use its Lightning to attack these people. It tried to change tactics, but whether it used Soundwaves or corrosion, its attacks were always neutralized by the enemy. It didn’t know what to do now.

It had wanted to teach that one-eyed punk a lesson, but it realized it couldn’t initiate an attack.

None of its attacks seemed effective against that One-Eyed Monster. Was it supposed to just walk over and punch it?

This idea spread through the monster, its many fragments buzzed, seemingly in agreement that this strategy was feasible.

”Your current form is indomitable to them. Since your Split Entities can’t attack, just keep dividing and recombining—unbeknownst to them, right beside them. Then launch a surprise attack.” A voice suddenly came from nowhere, reverberating through the monster’s body.

The monster realized only it could hear this voice. It had taken a long time to comprehend the language’s meaning, and precisely because it understood, it had fallen for Kadi’s taunts and was constantly provoked by him.

Now, this inexplicable voice offered it guidance, and it understood.

The voice’s message was actually quite straightforward: divide itself, silently approach the enemy, suddenly merge, and launch a surprise attack.

After contemplating for a moment, it found the suggestion feasible.

Its Split Entities couldn’t attack, nor could they be detected, which allowed them to approach invisibly.

It would have ample opportunities for a surprise attack.

However, the sole drawback was its reaction speed. It wasn’t just a little slow; it was incredibly sluggish, completely unsuitable for such a fast-paced battle.

Just as the monster was about to give up on this plan, the mysterious voice echoed in its ear again.

”Don’t worry about your speed. Your recombination is still fast; it’s only after re-forming that your reactions and speed slow down. Don’t be afraid. Just consolidate all your Split Entities. The resulting impact on the surroundings will absolutely be enough for you to land that punch!”

The voice guided it step by step.

So, it split apart again, scattering its fragments. It wanted to deliver a hard punch to that One-Eyed Monster, just as the voice suggested.

Meanwhile, that One-Eyed Monster was still playing the hero, oblivious to the impending retaliatory strike.

The monster’s unusual movements naturally threw Kevin and Milo into confusion again.

”What’s that monster up to now? It has disintegrated again.”

”No matter what it’s up to, we can’t detect it anymore. It’s as if it vanished.”

”What trick is it trying to pull now?”

They muttered these thoughts, completely unaware of the monster’s movements.

They were already astounded enough; this monster was impervious to both explosions and slashes!

This was undoubtedly an unkillable entity. It seemed completely unassailable.

And now this indomitable being had disappeared. Did it just evaporate?

Kevin and Milo frowned. What now? The planned counterattack has become uncertain again.

”Hey, ugly freak, don’t think we can’t find you just because you’ve scattered!” Kadi began to taunt again.

And Kadi even seemed to know the monster had dispersed.

This was something Kevin and Milo found unimaginable!

Had Kadi’s team fully figured out the monster, or had the monster managed to fully understand them?

What exactly is going on?!

”Hey! Ugly freak, don’t think we can’t counterattack just because you’re hiding!” Kadi was still serving as bait.

Don’t be so smug, the monster thought. You’ll get what’s coming to you soon enough.

”Ugly freak, our counterattack is just getting started! Later, don’t accuse us of bullying you.” Kadi even laughed after saying this. It seemed this four-person squad was truly well-prepared; it looked like they had completely figured out what this monster was all about.

”It doesn’t matter if we can’t blast you to bits, and it’s fine if we can’t hack through you!” Kadi continued, now truly playing the part of the bait. The ”big fish” was closing in!

”Don’t forget, we’ve neutralized your Lightning. But have you ever thought about what would happen if your Lightning were to hit yourselves? Would you all jump then?”

Kadi used ”yourselves” this time. What was going on? Had Kadi’s team really figured out this monster completely?

The monster no longer paid Kadi’s words any mind. Anyway, I’m about to smash your face in. Then we’ll see who the real ugly freak is!

Hmm, what did he mean by ’yourselves’? Could he actually damage me?

Dream on! Those two experts couldn’t even manage it. Just this one-eyed trash-talker?

The monster’s thoughts gradually cleared; it seemed to have completely adapted to the various conditions here.

However, fortune and misfortune often go hand in hand. The monster would never have guessed that this one-eyed fellow... could actually attack!

”Hey, ugly freak, this is our counterattack!” Kadi held up a colorful stone. ”Don’t forget, your Lightning is incredibly powerful and fast. We can even see that, so how could we not see all of you approaching one by one?”

The monster was stunned! What the hell does that mean?!

”Taste your own Lightning, ugly freak!” With that, Kadi threw the stone.

The monster saw a multicolored object falling from the sky, impartially, right above all its moving fragments...

This is... a bomb!
