Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Ding Yu smiled and said nothing more.

It was the dorm leader’s own idea to find a snake to scare the ugly girl, definitely not her suggestion, and everyone could testify for her. She had only kindly mentioned to be careful of snakes and insects.

She turned back once more to glance at Qin Xin.

But her gaze lingered a moment longer on Jing Zhichen: Young Master Jing, oh Young Master Jing, do you still find this ugly girl, bitten dumb by a snake and now drained of spiritual power, interesting?

No man can be so blind as to circle around a worthless woman, right?

This first class of the semester was a major course, lasting a full two hours, not ending until midday.

After rigorous practice, the vast majority of students had mastered the spell of moving objects through willpower.

The difference was merely in how far they could move objects.

Jing Zhichen, naturally, ranked first in the class, leading by half a meter.

The others managed to move their objects within ten centimeters at most.

And the very few who hadn’t grasped the spell at all... was just Qin Xin alone!

She remained consistent throughout, with the chalk in front of her not budging from start to finish.

No matter what methods she tried, she could feel the spiritual power surging within her body, yet it just wouldn’t pour out through her fingertips.

Thus, she was decisively kept back after class.

Jing Zhichen wanted to stay with her, but the mentor refused: ”Young Master Jing, I know you want to help her, but it might be better for her to have some quiet time to comprehend on her own.”

Soon, the classroom emptied out, leaving only Qin Xin and the mentor outside, who had finished a boxed lunch and was napping.

Qin Xin, undeterred, continued practicing.

Interesting, this was her first time ever getting a zero on a classroom quiz. It was quite a new feeling, different from Lan Qingxin’s dead last in the class back then.

Hmm, why can’t it move?

Why is that... huh... huh?

Little Dongju urgently volunteered beside her ear, ”Master, let me handle it, let me fiddle with it a bit, I guarantee to make that broken chalk fly to the sky!”

Qin Xin: ”...No need, let me try again.”

If she could use petals to lift and move the chalk, she wouldn’t even need to practice, Little Dongju would do it perfectly.

But the problem was, the mentor’s assignment was to use one’s own spiritual power to move objects through willpower.

Her spiritual power seemed trapped, unable to be unleashed.

She could communicate mentally with Dongju, directing Dongju’s actions, but how could she harness her own spiritual power?

This was what she truly wished to experiment with.

She meticulously worked on it, with the excitement of a top student finally encountering an unsolved problem...

Until...

The mentor, dozing off outside the door, couldn’t hold on any longer and sat down with a thud, hitting his forehead with a big bump and cried out. Only then did Qin Xin cough lightly, ”Um, mentor, I can do it now.”

The mentor came in rubbing his forehead, looking pained, ”Really? Is it done? Oh, that’s great!”

For the first time in his life, he kept a student after class, and he was the one who ended up suffering.

Qin Xin nodded, her finger moved slightly, and the spell was unleashed.

The next second, the chalk flew ten meters away!

The mentor staggered, rubbed his eyes, ”Did I, did I see that wrong?”

Qin Xin smiled, ”Can I submit my assignment now?”

Mentor: ”Yes, yes, definitely yes! Oh my, it turns out even geniuses can mature late...”

Qin Xin held back her laughter and walked out of the classroom.

Little Dongju shrank his neck, ”Master, sorry, I just couldn’t control the force, it flew too far and scared the old man badly.”

Qin Xin: ”It’s alright. He’ll think he’s seeing things.”

Her first time ever cheating on a test was actually because she didn’t want to leave such an elderly mentor napping pitifully in the hallway.

She never thought she’d suddenly have such a compassionate heart, alas...
