Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 583: Chapter 583: My Daughter Is Becoming More and More Sensible

What Qin Xiaoshuang didn’t know was, while he was going downstairs to wait for Qin Xin, Qin Xin had already taken the elevator up.

She was still in a low-profile hoodie, just a thin windbreaker over it despite the cold weather, wearing her usual baseball cap, hurrying up the stairs through hotel guests and luggage carts, brushing past Xiaoshuang.

When she reached the music bar, seeing the forced smile on the big cutout sign at the door, Qin Xin frowned.

Then she saw Mrs. Qin warmly greeting the arriving guests from behind the sign.

Had she gone to the wrong place?

Not seeing Xiaoshuang anywhere, Qin Xin called, but Xiaoshuang’s phone was off.

Just about to turn and leave, she heard Qin Wenrou say, ”Sis, come on in, I’ve reserved a seat for you.”

Mrs. Qin seemed surprised: ”You invited your sister to the concert?”

She really hadn’t thought of inviting Qin Xin.

After all, she was too caught up with preparations and guest invitations these past few days to consider Qin Xin.

Qin Wenrou hooked onto Mrs. Qin’s arm: ”Mommy, come on, we’re family, closest sisters, no need to differentiate. I need to take care of Xiaoshuang, and I should take care of Sis too. Besides, Sis understands music; inviting her to critique my shortcomings is great.”

Mrs. Qin couldn’t help but sigh: ”Rou’er is getting more sensible, always thinking about her brother and sister.”

Saying this, she cast a somewhat resentful glance at Qin Xin.

Qin Xin responded indifferently.

She understood Mrs. Qin’s hint, suggesting she didn’t take care of Qin Wenrou during the Lark Orchestra’s New Year’s concert, even harshly shutting her out.

And she had been ignoring Mrs. Qin’s recent requests for money.

Doing this, unlike the sensible Qin Wenrou. Ha.

”Where’s Xiaoshuang?” Qin Xin only cared about this.

”Xiaoshuang? He might be preparing his guitar. Don’t worry, Sis, take a seat here and have some drinks and snacks first.” Qin Wenrou responded eagerly, excessively attentive.

Qin Xin gave her a chilly glance.

Mrs. Qin couldn’t help saying, ”Xin’er, what kind of look is that? You should be more tolerant of your own sister, you know. It’s one thing not to help her, but now that she’s found a great piano teacher and succeeded on her own, you should be happy for her.”

It was Qin Wenrou who pulled her back: ”Mommy, that’s not what Sis means. She might be anxious to see Xiaoshuang. How about this, you greet the guests, and I’ll go see where Xiaoshuang is.”

Mrs. Qin’s lips moved, then she nodded, still worried: ”Your dress isn’t changed yet, what about when it’s time to perform?”

Qin Wenrou: ”It’s alright, Mommy, Sis and Xiaoshuang are more important.”

This evening’s Qin Wenrou was sensibly unreal.

Qin Xin sat indifferently in a seat at the back, casually flipping open tonight’s program, scanning through it without finding Xiaoshuang’s piece listed anywhere.

The whole lineup was Qin Wenrou’s compositions.

And the selected music was difficult to describe, many of them obscure foreign pieces not suited for piano performance.

She almost understood Qin Wenrou’s intention today.

This was Qin Wenrou’s solo concert, and bringing Qin Xiaoshuang was probably just for a one or two-minute appearance halfway through, a mere flicker of time.

And yet, Mrs. Qin wore an expression as if Qin Wenrou had kindly allowed Xiaoshuang to perform, feeling gratified by Wenrou’s sensibility?

Their mother was truly becoming more absent-minded.

Are you kidding me!
