Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 558: Chapter 558: Kiss of Life and Death (Part 3)

Qin Xin’s eyes sparkled with a glimmer of crystal.

She never cried, and rarely even felt the urge to.

Even when she saw the Qin Family use a blood-soaked garment to stuff her into a coffin and held a funeral in the secluded backyard, she didn’t cry.

But at this moment, seeing so many of her trusted friends about to throw themselves into the dangerous earthquake site to save lives, she couldn’t help but have misty eyes!

In silence.

Ao Xinghao was the first to notice her unusual emotion, lightly licked his lips with his tongue, and started speaking with a smile:

”Xin, don’t worry about us. Each of us medical students swore an oath when we entered our freshman year: health is our duty and life is entrusted to us. This is the honor of being a medical student. Xin, thank you for letting us truly experience this honor.”

He couldn’t express how grateful he was to the old man in his family who made sure he didn’t study astronomy or physics, but instead pushed him into the Medical College.

What used to be his least favorite college had, because of this girl in front of him, become his pride.

Everyone nodded vigorously and responded loudly:

”Yes, I’m already impatient to show my skills.”

”I finally have the chance to prove I’m an angel!”

”Health is our duty!”

”Life is entrusted to us!”

Qin Xin took a breath, her gaze became firm:

”Good.”

”Let’s begin the operation!”

Her friends were far more resilient and outstanding than she had imagined.

A dozen or so people acted according to her directions, splitting up to take action.

Very soon, Huangfu Feng had people prepare a large pile of curtain cloth and wooden boards for fixing fractures on the injured.

Ao Xinghao also examined each of the injuries, selecting those with fractures to treat; those with severe bleeding were immediately handed over to Song Anjing; those with critical systemic symptoms were given to Qin Xin.

In such rigorous cooperation, in less than ten minutes, dozens of people had been bandaged and treated, and moved to flat ground.

In half an hour, more than two hundred people were properly attended to.

In comparison, the efficiency of the neighboring medical team was much lower.

Within this half-hour, they were focused on treating two faculty members with severely damaged lungs, without much progress.

The team leader was very irritable, constantly scolding, sometimes complaining about insufficient resources, sometimes about lack of personnel.

A doctor suggested, ”This lung damage is really difficult to handle, Captain, how about we first move them outside to wait for the ambulance to come in, handle it back at the hospital? Free up hands to save more people? I’ve heard from the rescue team that over a thousand injured are waiting for us to treat them...”

The captain snapped, ”Who’s the captain, you or me? Follow my arrangement! Don’t want to work, then get lost!”

The doctor had no choice but to keep quiet.

A nurse also proposed, ”Captain, I can’t be of much help to the critical patients here, maybe I could go care for those who haven’t had their turn to be treated yet? It will be good to soothe their emotions too.”

The captain glared, ”Are you idle? If you have nothing to do, go find me each person!”

He handed the nurse a note.

It had seven or eight names of students and faculty.

These were familiar faces whose superiors had called him before departure, asking him to give special attention to them, for which he had already received gifts from acquaintances and had to prioritize them.

The nurse was startled, ”Captain, do we need to prioritize whom we save? Isn’t it supposed to be equal treatment? As medical staff, our duty is health entrusted to us, lives entrusted to us...”

The captain shouted angrily, ”You too can get lost if you don’t want to work! What nonsense, daring to lecture me? I have a high professional title, head of the hospital, and you usually can’t even get an appointment to see me, yet you dare to give me advice?”
