Chapter 1489 Trial of Power(11)

Chapter 1489: Trial of Power(11)

After reaching a safe distance, Huo Jinglin finally stopped running away.

The challenge wanted him to find the source of the war in thirty days so it could be brought to an end before it became a gigantic war with large tribes joining it.

Just in the group of enemies, he saw more than a couple of people stronger than him so he couldnʼt do things directly, or his end wouldnʼt be good.

The battle began between two tribes, which had turned into a thousand-mile war. The two tribes were Gungur and Hrinarsic. Since they started it, he needed to search for sources from these two tribes.

Fortunately for Huo Jinglin, the challenge details contained the location of the tribes involved in the war. After resting and recovering to his peak, Huo Jinglin came out of the temporary shelter he had made.

He then destroyed it and rushed in the direction of the Gungur tribe. He was rushing but cautiously.

While traveling, he came across small battles from time to time, and as he went deeper into the thousand-mile range, the scene started turning desolate, showing the terrible effect of the war on them.

After running for several hours, Huo Jinglin finally reached his location, and he couldnʼt help but frown. Where the territory of Gungur should have been, now there was nothing but desolation and corpses.

Since the smell of the blood was fresh, it meant that the tribe had been massacred just some time ago. He didnʼt immediately enter the ruined territory since enemies could still be there and waited for a day.

After finding nothing for the entire day, he finally walked into the desolate territory. The more he saw around, the deeper the frown on his face became.

According to the situation of the corpses, there wasnʼt much of a struggle at all. It was as if someone they trusted did the killing, and they did it so quickly that the tribe members didnʼt even comprehend.

Huo Jinglin tried to search for things related to the war, but he couldnʼt find anything. He couldnʼt help but become suspicious since it seemed like someone didnʼt want him to find the root cause of the war.

His heart turned heavy when he came to that consideration, and he immediately turned around and rushed toward the territory of the Hrinarsic tribe.

When he reached the location after running for a few hours straight, his expression turned solemn. As the thought had arisen in his heart, someone didnʼt want him to find the root cause of the war. The Hrinarsic tribe had also been massacred to their last member, and the corpses there had a similar expression to what was in Gungurʼs territory.

Since things were like that, it was clear that some other party was involved in the war, and Huo Jinglin was no longer as directionless as he was after the challenge began.

The corpses showing no sign of struggle were another key to finding the perpetrator. It must be someone whom both tribes knew and had a good relationship with.

Huo Jinglin immediately called the blue screen and read the war log. It detailed when the war began and all the significant things that had happened since the war started.

”Eh!” Huo Jinglin couldnʼt help but exclaim after reading the log on the twenty-third day after the war began.

According to what was written, on the twenty-third day, both Gungur and Hrinarsic tribe leaders met with the tribe leader of the Helennis tribe.

The Helennis tribe was the overlord of the tribes in the range of ten thousand miles due to having a Level 4 leader. The war log didnʼt detail what had transpired during the meeting, but after that meeting, several more tribes joined the war and turned it into more than just a tribal conflict.

The Helennis tribe was a clue to solving the issue. The more Huo Jinglin thought, the more he found the involvement of the tribe in the conflict.

The challenge wanted him to solve the issue in thirty days since the Helennis tribe would join the war themselves on the 31st day. It didnʼt make sense for a tribe like that to involve themselves in the war since having a Level 4 leader at their helm made their dominance certain.

If the leader were to say something, the war would immediately stop. But after the meeting with the leader, it transformed into a bigger war, and the leader himself joined it.

According to that, all the things pointed at the Helennis tribe. But having a clue wasnʼt enough to complete the challenge. Even if he could find proof of the tribe being the instigator, the challenge would only be completed when Huo Jinglin found out what caused the tribe to instigate the war.

Time was like a stream that kept flowing, and two weeks passed in the blink of an eye.

Since the Gungur tribe and Hrinarsic tribe got massacred, the war intensity had switched down, but something seemed to have happened three days before the present day, and the war took an even more brutal form.

Since Huo Jinglin found the Helennis tribe to be the instigator, every step taken by him has been filled with caution. Since the two tribes were massacred, it was clear that the leader knew about Huo Jinglin.

If, despite that, the leader didnʼt try harming Huo Jinglin, it could only mean one thing: he, as a challenger, couldnʼt be attacked by the leader, or there was no need to kill the tribe. It was easier to kill one than many.

He was currently disguised as a member of the Helennis tribe since, in the case where the leader couldnʼt kill him, it was best to directly enter the den of toothless wolves.

He had taken on the disguise of a guard and was currently guarding a tent. While inside the tent, there was a meeting going on between the leaders of tens of tribes involved in the war.

”How dare you attack my son?” A man roared in anger and rushed toward another man.
