I AM the Football Star

”Maniero’s substitution really didn’t work well.”

”Canyes and Lam are both too young, they’re bound to make some mistakes that young players often make. This goal loss is directly related to both of them!”

”Italy is now in dire straits!”

”With only three matches in the group stage, if Italy loses this one, the upcoming ones will be very troublesome.”

”Of course, for Italy, this group has always been the group of death.”

”Lu Yang is talking to his teammates, is he encouraging them to keep going?”

”Don’t be afraid, just play like you did earlier, it’s not your fault.” Lu Yang said to Canyes and Lam.

Seeing Lu Yang interacting with them, Chiavich, who originally wanted to shout from the defense line, held back.

Thus, the pressure on Canyes and Lam lessened considerably.

Italy Team kicked off.

Lam returned the ball to Canyes, who slowly advanced with the ball, trying to find a passing space.

Bam!

Robben came over for a routine challenge, but Canyes suddenly pushed the football forward, passing Robben face-on, flashing away.

Robben didn’t chase back immediately, since he was only doing it symbolically.

But he didn’t expect Canyes to begin a fast advance after this breakthrough!

Speed and timing were perfectly captured, forming a sharp contrast to Scamacca earlier.

To say a wing-back player excels in assists doesn’t just mean he enjoys rushing forward.

It also includes the player’s cross technique, timing for crossing, ball handling skills, speed, and choice of timing for advancing.

Canyes is excellent in all these areas.

Robben’s ”challenge” gave his teammates incorrect information, suggesting there was Robben’s delay here, so everyone could retreat a little.

As a result, Canyes found a large open space after breaking through Robben.

After bringing the football past midfield, Rebel hurried to catch up.

Joseph also intended to come over, but Lu Yang deliberately moved his position, attracting Joseph’s defense.

Canyes didn’t hold the ball for long, directly passing it to Morici beside him.

Morici received the ball without any hesitation and kicked it deeply towards the right side.

Canyes continued his forward run resolutely after the pass.

Rebel naturally knew Canyes might perform a one-two with Morici, so he intentionally held back a bit, positioning on Morici’s passing lane.

But he didn’t anticipate Morici being so bold, directly kicking the football towards the bottom line direction through the air, leaving Canyes a huge sprinting space.

Just pure running!

No technical element at all!

And Rebel’s speed was already inferior to Canyes, now losing the initiative.

A moment’s hesitation cost Rebel the chance to pull Canyes back.

Canyes surged ahead, gaining control of the ball near the bottom line.

Bam!

Canyes raised his golden right foot, despite facing the bottom line, delivering a spectacular cross.

This is true skill!

Many aim for a cross near the bottom line, needing to adjust their body to face the goal, and have the ball half a meter or a meter ahead on the left.

But for this ball, to save time and avoid Rebel’s interference, Canyes suddenly swung his leg for a cross while the football was directly in front and he faced the bottom line.

Whether it works or not, this kick reveals everything.

”Great ball! Canyes with the bottom cross!”

”Canyes and Morici showing great chemistry, easily bringing the ball to the attacking third.”

”Canyes’s cross shows real skill! The suddenness in such situations is remarkable, though this crossing method has a downside, with less curvature than a regular cross, easier for the front men to intercept.”

”Oh! Canyes went for a higher trajectory, preventing the front men from disrupting the ball.”

”Too high! Perrotta and Lande couldn’t reach the ball even after jumping, the ball was crossed too high.”

”The ball flew to the far post, bouncing outside the large penalty area...Lu Yang! Lu Yang chose to insert into the left side of the large penalty area, unexpectedly receiving the ball.”

”No, not unexpectedly! Canyes’s cross was definitely aimed for Lu Yang!”

”This is the San Remo connection!”

”Turan rushed over the moment he saw it, abandoning Ancelotti on the wing.”

”Lu Yang dribbling while holding off Turan, he’s really strong! Previously held off Plazza, now holding off Turan!”

”Lu Yang inside the penalty area, Turan doesn’t dare make excessive defensive moves to avoid conceding a penalty.”

”Plazza also moving over!”

”Lande facing Lu Yang, blocking his shooting path.”

”Kuba holding off Perrotta, preventing a pass from Lu Yang to Perrotta.”

”Lu Yang’s position is awkward, no angle for a shot, no route for a pass, he needs to release the ball soon to avoid a double-team, he...”

Just as the commentator grew anxious for Lu Yang, Lu Yang suddenly performed a Fried Meatballs maneuver while holding off Turan.

The football swayed to the left then darted rapidly to the right, followed by a half-meter forward shift.

The second direction change of the ball is the essence of the Fried Meatballs move.

Bam!

But the football did not undergo a half-meter forward shift; rather, Lu Yang flicked it out in a lobbed pass.

Zidane, assisting in the large penalty area, was caught off guard.

This pass!

Something’s going down!

Sure enough, as Zidane glanced inside the large penalty area, a little figure had already slipped into the small penalty area from behind Kuba.
