I AM the Football Star

A lifetime without a crown, how tragic!

This shouldn’t be Carrel’s fate.

Versachi couldn’t accept that his superhero would end up going far away and joining the ranks of a rival to vie for honor.

He couldn’t bear to see the statue of the king standing outside Frankie Stadium being toppled and destroyed by extreme fans.

He has to go, he knows Carrel only has these two years of opportunity!

Serie A is in its twilight.

The heroes of the past are also almost done.

”How much are they offering?” Lu Yang looked at Mr. Russell.

”Fifteen million.” You could hear from his tone that Mr. Russell was not satisfied with this price.

This price belongs... indeed it matches Versachi’s value, but anyone with Versachi would never want to sell at this price.

Because barring any accidents, in the future, midfield cores like Versachi, all-purpose midfielders, would definitely sell for thirty million!

Versachi’s future is bright, he’s a stock that’s already performing well yet still shows potential.

Unlike Matthias and others.

Moreover... San Remo’s positioning of Versachi is very important.

Basically, once Sogel and Versachi are sold, it means that the San Remo Supermarket is open, and there’s practically no player from San Remo that can’t be sold.

The implication is enormous.

Sogel is unavoidable, he’s a loan player.

As for Versachi... San Remo doesn’t have to sell.

However, fifteen million is no bargain price, Purple Lily is sincere in wanting to buy, but they may not have much money left now.

Even with fifteen million, they might have to sell two midfield players to cobble it together.

After all, they’ve invested continuously for years without results, and now they’ve spent nearly fifty million.

”Agree to it!” Lu Yang spoke up, as he was saying this, he looked at Russell.

Sotu was completely dumbfounded.

Brother Lu, are you showing your cards?

Going head-to-head with the team chairman and head coach about selling players?

Not to mention what happens to the team next season without Versachi, or letting others mistakenly believe we’ve opened the supermarket doors, even for this price, if we are to sell we should add another three or four million, right?

However, Lu Yang’s gaze was very firm, he looked into Russell’s eyes and said, ”Whatever you think you’ve lost on Versachi, you can earn that all back next year or the year after with me!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the office fell silent.

”Captain Lu!” Versachi’s eyes turned red at the moment!

Brother Lu not only nodded to let him go, but even paved the way for his exit!

This...

Brotherhood is when one binds a brother for one’s own benefit.

But it’s even more brotherly when one is willing to let a brother go for the brother’s wishes despite one’s own detriment!

Versachi is very important to San Remo, a very high-level, very versatile... substitute!

Yes, a substitute!

In the past year, Versachi was a substitute player. Although he played in quite a few matches, there’s a difference between a substitute and a starting core.

Where can you find a substitute with his potential, who plays calmly without fuss and with such strength?

Anyone else with his level would have jumped long ago to fight for a starting position.

He’s not as good as Morici, but is he worse than Lam and Kaint?

No, he’s not; it’s just that the team’s style dictated his being a substitute, he had to sacrifice himself for the team’s development.

If Lu Yang had asked, he might have been forcefully kept by San Remo for another year, and he would also play well, but... Lu Yang wouldn’t do such a thing.

Starting for Purple Lily vs. being a substitute at San Remo, no one can force who must choose the latter when the conditions of the former are substantially better.

Lu Yang never stops a brother with a good opportunity from leaving.

This is the fundamental reason why Lu Yang’s prestige is so high; he’s always protecting every teammate! This is the reason brothers will always choose to stand behind him at crucial times.

Because he’s always standing behind his brothers, supporting them!

At that moment, Versachi couldn’t help rushing over to hug Lu Yang, speechless.

If someday in the future, Lu Yang needs something, all he would need is a call like today, Versachi would leave everything behind and come to him desperately, without hesitation!

But these words, Versachi will only keep in his heart.

Speaking them doesn’t reflect his resolve.

Sometimes, this is the tacit understanding between men.

”Alright.” Russell nodded.

In fact, Russell Group has not had a very strong cash flow recently, supplementing some is also pretty good.

The renovation and reconstruction of Serie A stadiums, Russell also got a piece of the pie.

But once business runs, it becomes a gold sink, needing continual cash flow.

This is an opportunity for leapfrog growth for Russell Group, but during the process, they will face many problems; if they can’t hold, they might even turn good fortune into disaster.

Russell doesn’t particularly need Versachi’s fifteen million, but he greatly needs those millions Lu Yang will represent in the following year or two.

That must be a huge number.

Moreover... Lu Yang also gets a share from the stadium reconstruction projects, the two are partners from this perspective. Lu Yang doesn’t have resources for infrastructure, and Russell will share proportionately with him.

That’s favor.

So when Sotu said to sell Versachi didn’t work, but when Lu Yang said to sell, Russell willingly sells, making less money is no problem.
